"Elephants Do Not Belong in Trees" was a cute story about an elephant who made his home in a tree. Things did not go smoothly as the other animals in the tree were not accustomed to an animal as big as elephant being in the tree. Although the animals were having trouble co-existing, they came together for a common goal: to defeat the bulldozer coming through to take down the tree. It was a cute story about teamwork and overcoming obstacles; however, it did not stand out as super unique to me. Would I check out from library? Sure. Would I buy? Probably not.

I received an ARC of "Elephants Do Not Belong in Trees" from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Cute, quirky little story! Great for ages 2-5! Would love to read in hardcover or as a board book. Great lesson about why not to judge & how to share.

This is a cute book. I read it to my 17 month old son. The illustrations are very cute and I like the message that I got from the book. I recommend this as a book to read with toddlers.

This book was hilarious. It was full of the kind of silliness that endlessly amused the kids I read it to (aged 6 and 4.) And the pictures were adorable!

This book is so cute. The graphics were amazing. Russ did a great job keeping the readers attention and painting a picture. Such a great children’s book. Thanks for allowing me to read it.

Oh what a wonderful story! Cute, funny, and somewhat silly! The illustrations are so bright and colorful! And the message of the book, that everyone belongs no matter how different, is a great one for children! The author does an amazing job of using animals that are so different in size and type to show how they can all live in the tree together! I am definitely reading this to my littles! And would highly recommend as a book to be read in classrooms!

This is an okay book. It didn’t have any great points. The characters didn’t really stand out and it felt like it dragged. It’s a book about an elephant that moves into a tree uninvited.

What a fun book. My 5 yr old loved the story and the wonderful illustrations. When I asked him what he liked about the book the answer was everything, so a glowing review.

Monkey, bird, amd squirrel do not want an elephant as a neighbor. However, they need all the help they can get when their home is in danger. This was a cute story for children. The animals used were perfect, and the illustrations were bright and colorful. I loved that this books fits in the messages of friends working together and that all people belong.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free e-arc to review.

This book is pretty adorable. The illustrations are lovely, Larry the elephant is such a happy main character, and watching his tree-mates come around to enjoy having him as a neighbor is great. Definitely recommend as a story to help kids deal with hard changes.

Cute book about making new friends (and helping them too). The cats go on an adventure to find Callie’s “meow.” There were quite a few places that the cats looked that could be trimmed down, but I loved the beginning and the end!

I received an electronic ARC from Orca Book Publishers through NetGalley.
Larry the elephant moves into a tree in a meadow and rattles the current occupants. Then someone tries to get rid of the tree and Larry saves the day. After that the squirrel, bird, monkey and elephant share their home. Cute ending when giraffe shows up.
Preschool and lower elementary readers will enjoy the humor and fun as they read the text and enjoy the brightly colored pictures.

This is my first review of a children’s book: so after receiving an Advanced Readers Copy from NetGalley I was excited to read the book to my 3-year grandson this afternoon. His feedback: he was attentive, understood the story line, and kept turning the pages to see what would happen. Only downside was the fact that the book ended too quickly — we both would have enjoyed the story being “fleshed out” to add a bit more content. This story is about an elephant named “Larry” who wants to live in a tree although he is a bit too large for said tree. The other live animals find it difficult too cohabitate with bog ole Larry. The illustrations are fun and colorful: all-in-all a really good story but give us more!

Elephants Do Not Belong in Trees is a fun, silly book that highlights the differences among creatures and how, despite those differences, they can use their talents to work together to accomplish something.

The illustrations are really cute and colorful, and the story is really adorable, but I had a hard time getting into it. I do like the fact that they end up saving the tree and working together for their little community.

How delightful! With the message that succeeding in life requires you to be friends with people who are not like you, this has fun illustrations and the text plays with the illustrations so well. I found this utterly charming.
