This is the kind of novel to curl up with Ona. Cold evening. It’s warm, relatable and has a good Helping of festiveness for good measure.
Loved the characters.

Another fabulous heartwarming festive read. Samantha excels at writing adorable and uplifting community based stories. You are quickly absorbed into the lives of all the residents at Willow Court and to Jess and her lovely flat mate and best friend Oliver.
I found this such an enduring and pleasurable book, filled with all the best aspects of Christmas, I adored the theme for the party, It’s A Wonderful Life as it is a favourite movie of mine , especially at Christmas, so it’s inclusion was absolutely perfect!
Nik was so gorgeous! I’d love to have the opportunity to meet him! He was such a wonderful character who really knew how to bring the community together and to embrace the season and to look for the positive in the little things.

2 1/2, elevated to 3.

I had high hopes for this story. It started well and with a strong romance, but later on something happens that I didn't particularly like. I'd say it's more of women's fiction with a romantic subplot than a romance.

There's a fun cast of secondary characters with a lot of quirks and a message of kindness. The It's a Wonderful Life theme for the party at the care home was sweet to read.

The ending felt a bit rushed.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This is a cosy read with a lovely cast of characters including the nursing home residents who were all well represented. Jess was a positive character with a strong bond with her gran and a few very genuine friends, Nik was perfect, almost two perfect to be fair but it was impossible to find anything to dislike about him or any of the characters. This is a very positive book and whilst based around a Christmas party doesn’t overkill the subject which makes it a great read for anytime in the year..

This is a Christmas book that will stay in your heart. It’s not just a Christmas romance it takes us on a journey with the residents of Willow Lodge care Home where the residents are told the home has been sold and they have to move out. While they organise one last Christmas party we are given glimpses into their lives past and present. Samantha Tonge captures old age, dementia and fragility so beautifully. Jess and her gran have been through so much together and Jess together with her flat mate Oliver and Nik, the man she met on a plane are determined to make the last Christmas party the best ever. As the residents face a new future will Jess find her happy ever after?

"The Winter We Met" by Samantha Tonge was an enjoyable read that will get anyone in the mood for the Christmas season. Jess and Nik have a nice chemistry that goes back and forth, and make the reading quick and easy to get through while still being interesting. The parts with her grandmother in a care home were really close to home for me, as my own grandmother was in one.

For those that like something that will make you feel the Christmas spirit, this is a good read.

A lovely Christmas read with a great cast of characters, including some feisty seniors! A chance meeting on a flight home from a toy trade fair, leads Jess to a romantic connection with Nik.

Get ready to fall in love, with this book, with the story, with all the characters and the author for creating them.

A genuinely lovely, feel good book. You will open your heart to all the characters in this story.

Throughout the book you get to know each character and want the best for them all. Be prepared to fall in love with some heart melting older people who will change people’s perspectives on the elderly. It’s also lovely to see a care home portrayed in such a positive way, showing how staff can be so genuinely loyal to the people in their care.

I would love to read a sequel to this, knowing what happens to all the characters as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to read a heart warming Christmas tale.

Thank you to Netgallery, the publishers and most importantly the author, for the chance to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Jess & Nik meet on a plane to the UK from Germany after both attending a toy trade fair. He's from Australia & is researching toy shops in the Uk & beyond for his family's toy company. They 'click' & form a friendship. Nik seems to good to be true & is keen to help out at Jess's grandmothers care home. The book is such a lovely feel good read, even though it touches on some difficult subjects. There many lovely characters who I grew fond of & would like to know how things turn out. Perhaps a sequel for Smanatha Tonge to consider! Recommended read.

I enjoyed this book to a point but i felt there was to many characters and part of the story was pointless, i think Nik character could have had more to him.

I received an advance copy of The Winter We Met, by Samantha Tongue. I loved the characters in this book, Jess and Nik. Jess owns a toy shop, Under the tree, and Nik's family owns a toy manufacturing company. Will this be the winter of Jess's dreams?

It's Christmas and romance in one.
There is no better combination.
From the first chapter I just knew how this book would end. I knew who is the guy...
This book just gave my a lot of Hallmark feels . And Hallmark christmas movies.
I was expecting viber from the movie The Holiday, because it is England, but not really.
So, all in all. Cute and sweet, and festive. But there wasn't that Wow factor.
3 stars from me.

This is a really enjoyable story with plenty of Christmas cheer, wonderful characters, a race against time and a budding romance. I adore Christmas stories and this one was a really good one, the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars as it took me a wee bit to get into but after a few chapters I was drawn in

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Jess could never have imagined the impact that Nik whom she met sitting next to on a plane back from a toy fair would have on her.
.
Back on home turf, Jess doesn’t want to say goodbye to him just yet, and before she’s aware of it, she invites him to visit her in her hometown.

When Nik visits her and she shows him around the toy store she works in, she receives a upsetting call. The care home her Grandmother is in Williw Court is to close after Christmas.

Now, she’s determined to find a place that her Grandmother will love just as much as where she is now. Along with throwing the best ever Christmas party Willow Court has ever seen or given.

Soon she’s running out of time and being drawn more to the enigmatic Nik whose joined forces with her and her best friend Oliver to bring those plans to fruition.

So, will that encounter on the plane bring Hess happiness in love or Niks?????

Recommend it.

You will take this book into your heart.
Jess Jagger is flying back to London from Germany after been to the toy trade fair's.
Nik Talvi Australian is seated beside her and it was an instant connection, making it an enjoyable flight for Jess, even after they touched down they spent the rest of the day together. Nik's family run a toy manufacturing company, and Jess works at the toyshop Under the Tree in a village Springhaye.
She had to go to work on the afternoon and Nik tagged along and was enchanted with the place.
Oliver Hart her flat mate encouraged her to text Nik to meet up again. She knows this isn't going to turn romantic with him travelling and living on the other side of the world but she did enjoy his company.
Her gran Alice is facing her beloved home Willow Court facing closure.
This book is amazingly beautiful to read.
True love is blind, and will Jess find her true Mr Winter?
A tremendous Feel good story entail's with the season's of goodwill.
There's nothing i can fault with this book, except when I saw the end.
