Emotional and action packed danger filled journey. The beginning was a little slow but overall was a entertaining and engaging adventure filled with witty and exciting charters, dangerous twists and intriguing turns.

I'm alllll about the vampire romances right now and this one was no different!

It took me a second to get into it, but once I did i read it fairly quickly. Bane was coooold, but I was here for it!

I can see why some reviews are more mixed - I was hoping for more of the MC element, but overall I appreciated this different take at a typical vampire romance!

This was just ok. I didn’t really like the cover to be honest. I felt like the writing was somewhat immature and over sexed. Especially since Bane was supposed to be over 300 years old.

It could of been a lot better.

I must admit that I was a little confused when I started this book. It has been a while since I’ve read anything from Alyssa Day but have always enjoyed her paranormal romance books. I grabbed it because it was the first in a new series, Vampire Motorcycle Club. But immediately upon starting the read, I felt like I was jumping into the middle of an existing series and was missing some background I needed. But then there was a lot of information pushed our way.

In the end, I liked it but did not love it. There was lots of potential, but it felt choppy and to top it off I wasn’t a fan of Bane. SO it ends up just being a like for me.

An unusual and highly entertaining paranormal romance that kept me hooked.
I loved the world building (never read of a vampire motorcycle club before), the characters (rooted for them) and the tightly knitted plot.
Can't wait to read another book by this author.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I really wanted to love this one! Vampire Motorcycle Club? Like yes please! Unfortunately this book took forever and a day to get the ball rolling and the characters just weren’t that interesting enough to get invested in. I felt like I was walking into a middle of a series instead of a standalone novel, and the characters felt almost stereotypical that left me craving for some authenticity or realness if you will.

The overall concept of this book is very unique, but I just think that the execution could have been done a tad better and left me asking questions.

i wasn't entirely sold on the concept for bane's choice, since i'm not really one for motorcycle club stories, but it also didn't feel like your usual motorcycle club romance rife with misogyny, so i decided to take a chance.

the vampire stuff i found interesting, the motorcycle club stuff felt extraneous but didn't bother me, but oh man did i dislike this heroine. like i'm all for standing up for yourself and being able to protect yourself from danger. but this dimwit was like oh there's a newly turned vampire who will be crazed with bloodlust and none of that matters because he is my patient. he's dead. he's a paranormal being who's vitals actually don't matter and he's going to kill you because you are food to him.

like there's being a badass and there's being stupid. and i thought ryan was totally stupid. she was so stupid that i just couldn't bring myself to care about anything related to her, which killed the romance for me. it's too bad, because i think there were a lot of interesting threads left hanging, but i don't think i can spend any more time with bane and ryan because she was just that annoying.

**bane's choice will publish on october 27, 2020. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (amara) in exchange for my honest review.

For a first time read by Alyssa Day, I enjoyed this one. There were a few things here and there that kept me from loving it but found it to be a rather fun read. The synopsis pulled me instantly and I was rather interested when it came down to the vampire mc romance aspect.

I've read a handful of MC romances and the scale of what happens in each has been all over the place. And I'd say that Bane's Choice falls on the tamer side of MC, which I don't really have a problem with at all.

I really liked both characters, they're definitely opposites and Ryan sure does go through life to the beat of her own drum. And that added a rather entertaining layer to their banter.

As much as Bane fights the connection that they have, it was really a matter of time before they both gave in. I really liked all their moments together and I actually found Bane to be rather endearing.

One thing that I struggled with was the POVs that weren't Bane and Ryan. I'm not really a huge fan of hearing the POV from the villain. I didn't mind hearing Edge, but I think I would have been ok without with especially if there's a possibility of getting his story in this series.

Overall, still enjoyed this, not quite what I expected. I hope we get more from this world because I'm definitely invested. And you can bet that I'll be diving into the backlist of Alyssa's paranormal books.

This was so good. It had very strong characters and plot.  It was action-packed and passionate. I wanted so much more and hated seeing the story end.  Can’t wait for more in this series.  Bane was such a dominant male lead, but wasn’t overly so, like some can get. He had a great mix of dominance and compassion and it made it easy to see why she fell in love with him.  Ryan was funny to watch discover the new world of the paranormal and she was such a strong, independent character with just a hint of insecurity that I think was a perfect blend for Bane. Together they were perfect. Loved every second of it.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
Now I have read a lot of romances over the years but I can 100% confirm I’ve never read a paranormal romance where the vampires are in their own motorcycle club- MC paranormal romances need to be a thing because I’m totally here for it!

Our hero is a vampire jaded by his 300 year existence (and yeah he’s a little mean). One day he comes across a doctor who he can’t compel to forget him and she intrigues him more than anyone else has in a very long time. Our heroine thinks she’s going crazy until she is kidnapped by a vampire and thrown into a war with.... necromancers.

Our heroine is feisty and absolutely refuses to let the hero be an alphahole or even go alpha on her and I was just mentally clapping the whole time. The hero was mean and grumpy and kept trying to be an alpha but to absolutely no success 😂😂. This book had me in fits of laughter with its humour interwoven between romance and action. Can’t wait to read more in this series!

I really enjoyed this book and I couldn't put it down. The Vampire Motorcycle Club was great but I wish there was more about it. Now Bane was a good MC, he may have acted like he didn't have emotions but you could tell he cared about his 'family' and plus a few others (don't want to give too much away). I loved Ryan and she was a awesome MC. I loved how she handle everything and that she didn't give up. I will be telling all my vampire loving friends to pick up this book along with other books by Alyssa Day.

This was a bad introduction to this author for me because I was really bored with this book and it was a struggle for me to finish it without skimming thru things. I didn't like any of the characters and all the action seemed really short each time. And as for being literally labeled a motorcycle club, you do not get those vibes at all. At most we see them riding around two or three times and the "club" is really just a front for the vampires' other activities.

We're repeatedly told how much of a monster Bane is but we never actually see him act like one. Sure, he was a brutal fighter but that really doesn't make him a monster. He didn't really treat people badly and while he was ambivalent about the lives of many, he looked out for those close to him. Sure he locked Ryan in a room, but that was for protection as well. As for Ryan, considering that she is a doctor, she was so goddamn stupid all the time! I mean, come on! When you are repeatedly told that your presence is making it worse for someone transitioning into a vampire and that person may very well attack you for your blood, STOP FUCKING TRYING TO "CHECK THEIR VITALS"! Oh my gawd, they're not even human anymore. What the fuck are you going to check!? She kept doing this and every single time I would ask out loud if she was stupid. It shouldn't take a genius to know that when a creature is craving your blood and will kill you for it because they are not in control, you do not try and go right up to them.

The story itself could have been good, but it fell flat for me. Warlocks and necromancers are trying to invade Bane's territory and he is having none of that. When the local werewolf pack gets caught up in that mess these two groups end up forming an alliance of a sort in order to drive them out. All of that could make a good story. But we spend more time at the house with the human Bane tried to save by turning him than anywhere else. But we do get to go shopping! And to a party! Oh yay!

Bane and Ryan are always at odds about pretty much everything and I really hated Ryan's attitude. I get that she has been unwillingly dragged into this world, but she doesn't have to be such a selfish idiot about it. But no worries because these two are so attracted to each other from the start that they can't stop drooling over the other no matter what they fight about.

The final battle turned out to be a pretty big one. Bane and Ryan are surprise attacked in a cemetery giving their necromancer enemy the perfect army. But the vampires and werewolves show up to help so it evens things out a bit. Unfortunately it's also here we learn just how special of a snowflake Ryan is. I hate snowflakes. Turns out, her parentage could mean big trouble with her relationship with Bane. But they'll deal with that when the issue comes up.

I'm sure it's not surprising but I have zero interest in continuing this series.

I’ve always loved Vampire stories. Especially when I was in my teens. But lately I haven’t read many Vampire books. So when I got the opportunity to read ‘Bane’s Choice’ I got super excited.

In ‘Bane’s Choice’ we meet Bane. Bane has been a vampire for more than 300 years and he has lost his humanity a long time ago. The one thing he lives for is his Vampire Motorcycle Club, and he is determined to protect it from dark magic and evil. One day, he accidentally comes into contact with a human doctor Ryan St. Cloud. She should mean nothing to Dane. But from the moment Dane meets Ryan, he feels his cold heart start to beat again. And an intense romance begins. Unfortunately evil doesn’t care, and soon Bane and Ryan have to fight to stay safe.

When I started reading, it took me a long time to really get into the story. It felt like the story to started right in the middle, and I really had to get used to the different characters. But from the moment Ryan came into the story, I started to like this book more and more.

Bane’s character is definitely one that got better the further in the book I came. He seemed so cold and dark. But after he met Ryan, I started loving him more and more. Ryan’s character was my favorite. She was obviously the ‘weakest’, being human between vampires does that, but she was very brave and wouldn’t get bossed around. Not even by Bane, the most handsome guy she has ever seen. I loved how she stood up for herself.

The romance between Bane and Ryan started very fast, but it didn’t bother me that much. What did bother me at times was the pace of this book. One minute we would be in Bane’s place and the next we are in the motorcycle club. Bane and Ryan are having a romantic moment, bam they have to fight for their life. I really had to go back a few times to check if I wasn’t missing a page.

The action filled moments where nice, but could have been a little more detailed. And how was Ryan able to use her ‘gifts’ all of a sudden? I didn’t really get that part at all.

But overall I had fun reading this book, and would definitely like to read a second book in the series.

I was really excited about this book... it sounded like it would be something I would really enjoy. But for some reason, it fell sort of flat for me. I think the pacing was off and while I really did like Bane and Meara, something about Ryan just didn't sit right with me. I like that she was a fierce, independent woman who stood up for herself and what she wanted. But I didn't love her for some reason. And as much as I enjoy romance, I think I'm falling out of love with the instalove. Fated love is one thing, but this was just straight up instalove without much character development to let the reader be on the same page. Overall it wasn't a bad read and I did enjoy it for the most part, but I'm not sure I'll continue the series.

Bane is the leader of the Vampire MCs. He is also a Vampire. When some warlocks enter his territory with intent to take over its up to him and his group to stop them. Dr St Cloud works the ER. When one of her patients has a mysterious visitor who disappears with her patient, she sets out to find out what’s going on. This story made me laugh and also long in many places. I have never read one of her books that I did not enjoy!

I'm not usually one for motorcycle club books, but this one really drew me in. Within a few pages I was completely invested in these new characters and this new world. As book 1 in a series, I can't wait to see more!

Bane is the leader of a motorcycle club as well as the leader of their vampire... group? He's been burned before by magical foes, so takes special offense when they try to take what he deems "his territory." As if he needed more drama, he also get tasked with doing a last minute life-saving "turn" for an old friend right after a big battle. This is still all things he can manage, until he runs into a doctor who can resist his compulsion. Ryan is... special. Let's just say that she's got some unresolved family issues and leave it at that.

These two are clearly fated for one another, but they try to save each other to the detriment of their relationship. A highlight of the book, however, was all the side characters. With such a rich world, I'm sure we will be seeing more of everyone in the future (or at least I hope so!). Ryan and Bane get a much deserved HEA while we get the building of a really interesting and unique world to play in. I'm excited for all the possibilities here!

The first in the Vampire Motorcycle Club, Bane’s Choice, was a promising read. I liked the premise of this story however the MC aspect is minimal. Secrets, intrigue, magic and control, Bane’s Choice has complex, engaging characters and an array of dynamic support characters. I like this story and will look to read more of this series.

It’s been a very long time since I have read anything by Alyssa Day, but I remember really enjoying her Paranormal Romance books in the past, so I thought that I would give this new series a shot. BANE’S CHOICE is book one in the Vampire Motorcycle Club. And obviously, the series title totally caught my attention. But I’m afraid that I may have had some high expectations because I was a little disappointed in this book.

It’s definitely not a terrible book by any means, but I did feel like there was a lot of info dumping in the beginning and also just a big mixture of different creatures. There’s mention of witches and warlocks and even necromancers. I guess I had the wrong idea that this would just be a vampire romance series. So if you’re going into this series thinking the same thing, there’s actually quite a lot of other paranormal creatures involved as well.

As for Day’s writing, I liked it. I kind of wished that it would be smoother just because the dialogue felt quite choppy to me. Bane didn’t completely win me over, but I think that’s also because of his roughness. It’s been a while since I’ve read a hero who just doesn’t seem to care. Overall, I liked it, but I would’ve liked more polished writing and characters. I will keep reading the series though and see what the next book will have in store for readers.

What a fun story… well minus the danger that they were in from almost the beginning of the story. 😉

Alyssa Day did a great job of creating a unique, yet familiar world that included warlocks, vampires, shifters and more. There was also a lot going on in Bane’s Choice that included a lot of players. At times I felt that there might have been a little too much going on, but not enough for the story to suffer or cause confusion.

Bane had never felt a connection to anyone as intense as his attraction to Ryan. She was a mystery he needed to solve and a complication that he and his family didn’t need.

Ryan believed in science and medicine, she didn’t believe in vampires, shifters or any other beings that went bump in the night. Needless to say, her entire world got turned upside down when she was faced with the realization that all those things and more truly did exist.

Plenty of action, humor, danger and romance to keep the pages turning and one of my favorite combinations. The supporting characters were great and I can’t wait to get to know them better. As for Ryan and Bane, I have a feeling that their story is far from over. I can’t wait for the Vampire Motorcycle Club to continue. 😉
