3.50 stars rounded up because of the many times I laughed out loud while reading.

Okay, call me crazy. But with a series named Vampire Motorcycle Club I was expecting more of a Paranormal MC Romance. You know, a story that actually revolved around a motorcycle club. But no, this was your run of the mill vampire romance.

Ancient vampire who lost his humanity hundred of years ago, yet protects his "family" and the innocent, suddenly finds himself having feelings for the beautiful woman who steps into his path and has seen too much, making herself a target for him and his enemies. He is no good for her, he can't trust her, but he must keep her safe. He fights his feelings for her, acts like a jerk, but ultimately succumbs to his attraction to her.

Sound familiar?

But Dr. Ryan St. Cloud is not your typical heroine. She was defiant, sarcastic and right-down mean to Bane. OMG, she cracked me up! She gave as good as she got and her attitude is what ultimately earns her the respect of Bane and his family. I enjoyed how she reacted to the news that vampires existed, that she was attracted to one and that he was not at all what she expected vampires to be like. As is happens with most heroines, she didn't take the danger she was in seriously and ultimately found herself fighting for her life.

I'm not familiar with this author, but I thought she did a good job in establishing the world Bane and his family lived in. I enjoyed how she went about introducing some of the key members of the family and who appears to be their top enemy. I'm looking forward to reading more Bane and his family.

I found this book very funny and interesting. It is the story of Dr. Ryan St. Cloud who while working on a dying man discovers that vampires are real. Since her patient is kidnapped by one. The vampire in question is Bane, a centuries old vampire who becomes fascinated by the doctor when he is unable to control her mind.

He begins to get to know her while trying to decide if he will need to kill her to protect vampires. Not an auspicious beginning, but as they come to know each other love takes root. There is plenty of excitement as they work to defeat a dangerous coven of witches that want to kill off the vampires, enslave the wares and take over everything.

This book does a good job developing the supernatural world within our world. There is a fantastic cast of characters and very funny dialogue. I am anxiously awaiting future books in the series. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy Lynsay Sands and Rebecca Zanetti.

I was provided a copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a tough one to review. The story begins with some decent action, which is always good. But it was also confusing. Bane was a vampire and had magic and could fly but the other vampires did not have these traits. It wasn't until much later that some casual references are thrown in about different magical skills. Maybe I'm being too picky with the world building, or lack thereof. Basically there are vampires, werewolves, warlocks, necromancers, etc. in the regular world. That's pretty much it.

We see Ryan for the first time when her patient is whisked away by Bane in an effort to save him because he was one of his very few friends he cared about. But how did Bane become friends with a human? There was no background info on this. Its also never explained why his friend's Turning didn't go well. It almost seemed like the issue was created just to give the main characters something to work on together, which is fine. But an answer would've been even better. I don't like loose ends.

Now, I did like Ryan. She was a hoot. I liked her humor and inner monologue. She didn't take any of Bane's bossiness without pushing back. But I am not a fan of insta-love. And Bane did not really demonstrate anything worthy of falling in love so quickly other than being really hot.

Once the story started going it did get up to a nice pace. For a while I was concerned about the ending, thinking things would be unresolved. But that was not the case although there was a hook for the next book letting you know the story was not really over. I felt there was too much inner turmoil for Bane, which was a current stream of self recriminations thinking he was not good enough for Ryan, she was in danger because of him and so forth. He was tough in a fight and over the top protective, but it sort of felt superficial.

Overall, not a bad book, just nothing that really wowed me.

When I read that Bane's Choice was "Sons of Anarchy meets True Blood in this sexy new series that is sure to captivate readers everywhere" I was on board!! A vampire MC was very appealing!

The book started slow for me. I just couldn't seem to get into it right away. However, it eventually picked up and I was more interested. I totally got a little bit of a Sookie Stackhouse vibe when it came to the heroine of Bane's Choice, Ryan. She has a little something "extra". But, there are lots of comparisons to the True Blood series: all kinds of different creatures, a vampire who is disenchanted, etc. I loved the Sookie Stackhouse books, so this worked for me.

There isn't much of the MC, however. I expected it to be more of a focus, but it is really just glossed over. Again, this wasn't a huge deal breaker for me because I enjoyed the rest of the story, but I certainly didn't get a sons of anarchy vibe.

If you like PNR and diversity in your creatures, Bane's Choice is a solid pick! While I struggled with the pacing, I enjoyed the plot and characters!

Bane's Choice was a really fun read! I don't normally read paranormal romance, bug I am so glad I picked up this book.

Bane, his fellow vampire family and friends, and his Vampire Motorcycle Club make their home in Savannah, Georgia. They aren't the only supernatural beings there either. They are all threatened when the mysterious Chamber sends necromancers to town.

I enjoyed the mystery and action element to the story just as much as the romance between Bane and Ryan. She is a doctor who seems to be the only person resistant to his gift of compulsion and other vampire gifts like changing her memories.

Ryan is a relatable character. She is smart and believes in helping others through her work as a doctor. However, she doesn't have much confidence in herself. I liked seeing her grow and come into her own as the story progressed. She is willing to stand up for herself even against Bane and the other vampires.

While this is predominantly Bane and Ryan's POV, you do get a little bit from other characters and I can't wait to read their books. I also hope there will be more from the Warewolf Motorcycle Club members as well.

Holy wow! This was so good! When they said Vampire MC I was in, and maybe a little skeptical. But the book drops you right into the world of Bane the conflict of his world. It's easy to understand. The vampires he surrounds himself with are likable. And every time Bane and Ryan are near each other the tension is unmistakable. So steamy!

Bane is a 300-year-old vampire who is the leader of the Vampire Motorcycle Club. He fights to protect his territory and family from other supernaturals and a group known as the Chambers. A group he defeated once before.
Dr. Ryan St.Cloud finds out about vampires when a patient is stolen from the hospital and she begins to question her sanity searching for proof of her patient. When Bane shows up to check on her she believes he is a hallucination and before she knows it she's back at this compound learning vampires are real.

Looking forward to the next book in this series!

Thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC.

Bane’s Choice is book one in the new series: Vampire Motorcycle Club by Alyssa Day. The story focuses on Bane a centuries old vampire and Doctor Ryan St. Cloud. Bane is the quintessential, arrogant male who at the beginning of the story comes across as really angry and in need of revenge. Being part of a MC also means that he has a lot of people to look after but at times he can come across quite heartless as he doesn’t really care about who dies in his club except a few close ‘friends’. The story starts strong with us being encapsulated in a paranormal story where all the things that go bump in the night live and breathe in a modern world, but don’t necessarily get on.

We’re introduced to the head strong Doctor St. Cloud when Bane barges into her hospital trying to help his seriously injured friend and tried to glamour the head strong doctor, which just doesn’t work. Here, Ryan enters a world that she never knew existed while questioning everything she knows and her sanity. But like most paranormal books, the human isn’t going to be left alone and she is dragged into Bane’s world, albeit a little bit reluctantly.

There is a lot going on in this novel (mainly due to the fact that it’s the first in a series), not only do we have the building love story between Ryan and Bane, we also have the fight for territory between the supernatural factions going on as well. As a reader I was a little confused at the beginning as you really do jump into the middle of the story before really knowing anything about Bane and his MC, but more info comes out throughout the story which helps to place where people belong and a little bit of their history.

This is an exciting new read with a twist on the traditional MC book. If you like your men broody and your women headstrong, then this is the one for you!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

This was a middle of the road book for me. There were moments where I was laughing but there were also times where I felt confused and bored. I'm going to say it might have been the writing style, I just don't think I meshed well with it. That all being said I know some individuals that would absolutely love this. Overall it was an amusing and a quick read.

Bane’s Choice is a wonderful start to a new series. This story is filled with magic, mayhem and love. The characters are engaging and make you want to know more. There is a delightful thread of humor throughout the tale that entertains.

This is the first book in the Vampire MC series, but it’s definitely more of a paranormal/magical romance than an MC romance. I enjoyed this book, even though it started a bit confusing since Day throws you into the world she’s building and expects you to pick it up as you go-which I actually really appreciate! I was totally entertained, love the battle scenes and the secondary characters leave you excited for future books in the series.

Ryan is a doctor that gets a crash course in the paranormal when a vampire steals her patient. Bane can’t believe he’s met a human that he can’t compel, but he’s even starting to smile and laugh again with Ryan around. But necromancers are trying to take over Savannah and the VMC might be the only ones that can stop them.

Bane's Choice is an exhilarating, unexpected, and marvelous introduction to a fabulous new series! It has all the danger, intrigue, and heart that I love in an excellent fast-paced story. I enjoyed the new twists on vampire lore, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Bane has lived a long life. He is bone tired and his heart has dulled leaving him empty and going through the motions. When he comes face to face with a woman who turns his world into utter chaos, he doesn't know if he would kill her or kiss her. Either way, he knows he will never be the same again. He is drawn to her unique and pure heart, and he knows he just needs more. Ryan doesn't know what she did to deserve her world being upturned, but she isn't sure that it is a bad thing. Can these two work together long enough to breathe some hope into their lives, or will they lose each other just as they find one another?

Watching these two circle each other was a like watching a strange new mating dance. They watched, they circled, and then they struck. Learning to live with a heart they feels again nearly turned Bane insane, but Ryan settled and centered him on her and what they we were becoming to each other. She balanced and energized him. They both brought meaning and hope to the other and proved that life is more then worth living when love is allowed to rule and heal.

I have never read a book by Alyssa Day, but I guarantee that this will not be my last. She is refreshing and challenging, and I want so much more now. I encourage you give this new series a try. You won't be disappointed.

When forces in league to destroy him lead him to his future ...

This is my first read by the author, and while the beginning confused me a bit, I thought I missed some intel first, but I quickly understood it was intended, to add a veil of mystery over the many new characters.
Bane is introduced as the ultimate alpha, as he cared for nothing than his territory, only the land, not the people. A big bad wolf hunting along the woods he peed in.
When he is so much more, straightly the opposite of uncaring as he promptly demonstrated by rushing to save a dying human.
After one does not survive and live more than three hundreds years without being a bit conceited and high-handed.
And Ryan reveals the teddy bear in him, well a grouchy bear, around her he is bewildered, bewitched. A snarling bear defending his dominion.
Ryan is the conundrum of this tale, why is she immune to him, and the others. Why can’t he swap her memory, his Men-In-Black internal Neuralyzer device does not work on her.
She is no badass heroine, she helps people, care for them. Her heart is her weapon. But Bane awakens the warrior in her, she stands her ground and despite her fears, she never backs off.

I have read some reviewers wondering why they let it pass this “detail”, but the span of time of the main action is at the longest three days. When over this brief period, they hunt a necromancer, they monitor a peculiar vampire turn, and Ryan upsets Bane’s world, her particularities intriguing him.

I loved every second of my reading, I can’t wait to learn more about Edge, Meara, Luke, Hunter and Reynolds, even if he is no vampire.
My only complaint was the climatic battle was not so epic, and the ending a bit rushed.
Outside this, what a fun introduction to a new group of characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love when the women in the story has a lot of sass in them and this definitely does. Ryan St. Cloud has that quick wit and sassiness that completely throws Bane for a loop. He's not used to women talking back (other than his sister Meara) and doesn't know what to make of Dr. St.Cloud. She is not afraid to tell him no and make him think twice about ordering her around like he does members of the Vampire Motorcycle Club. We are introduced to some of the other characters like Edge, Meara, Luke and newly turned Hunter. We also see that members of the Chamber that sound like they are going to cause some trouble. I'm looking forward to see more about all of them in the next books.

This one started a bit confusing (for me), but soon I caught up. I had a little trouble with Ryan being a girl - it was confusing until I remembered

I really hope Meara and Edge get a story!

This is the first book in a new series. Vampires are the focus of this new MC story but the MC part is in the background.
Bane is a three hundred year old vampire who hasn’t met his match until now.

He gave her his best lustful villain smile. “Well, fair maiden. You’re asking a lot of questions. You know what the cost is for each one.”

Dr. Ryan St Cloud is feisty, sassy and not afraid of anything even Vampires.

“This isn’t good,” Luke snapped, glaring at Ryan. “Thank you, Captain Understatement,” Ryan snapped right back at him.

“Maybe you could just pee on my shoe next time,” she said sweetly, moving out from beneath his arm. “I’m sure that would mark your territory.”

Evil Warlocks, werewolves, vampires and more inhabit and want to run Savannah. A supernatural war is brewing.

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that 70 % of the book the characters were angry at everyone. Not sure that was called for.

What a good read this one is. You have vampires, shifters, zombies, angels and necromancers. Ryan isn't anything you expect her to be. The conversation with her telling Bane to "Take off your clothes" rocks!

Bane’s Choice is a fairly typical first book in a paranormal romance series. There’s the main couple, a group of secondary characters that are given enough airtime to make the reader curious about their stories, and a larger enemy that will threaten the wellbeing of the characters throughout the series. Yet it failed to engage me.

Bane is a three hundred years old vampire living in Savannah who runs a motorcycle club with ruthless anger. Ryan is a doctor who believes herself boring. There’s instant lust between them, brought on by her inebriation and his fascination with a human he can’t control with magic. She has a rude awakening into the world of supernatural, but she rises to the occasion and discovers she’s stronger than she believed. Along the way, they fall in love.

I found the love story slightly problematic. It wasn’t that Bane had a tendency to force his will on Ryan, because she soon taught him to ask for consent in everything. But their love relied too much on other characters telling Ryan how wonderful Bane is when all the evidence she—and the reader—got was the opposite. Yet she based her love on the testimony of other people. So I found it difficult to believe in their happily ever after.

Beyond the romance, the story was all over the place. There was a vampire whose turning was going badly; there was a mystery concerning Ryan; there were issues between secondary characters; there were werewolves to deal with and the emergence of the enemy, warlock necromancers who were trying to take over the territory. None of it guided the narrative in any way. The enemy showed up when it wanted to and was gone in the next chapter (that dealt with something else as if nothing was amiss), and the solutions to all the problems showed up on their own at the end. On top of all this, the book was filled with placeholder scenes that didn’t advance the plot and only existed to tell Ryan once again how wonderful Bane was. All this made the book overly long and gave the notion that the author didn’t really know where she was going with it.

I had issues with the characters and the setting too. All the main characters were constantly angry and aggressive, reacting to one another with violence and rage. I found it difficult to understand what had kept them together all these centuries if they hated each other so much. I didn’t find them interesting or likeable, and I don’t want to read more about them. Savannah as a setting was an odd choice too. I just couldn’t fathom why it was of such strategic importance that a powerful organisation of warlocks would start their conquering of the US from there. If the author had utilised the special features of the place to paint a better picture of it for the reader, it might have worked as a unique location, but now it was just a lifeless backdrop that could’ve been anywhere in the world. And the greatest issue of all: why is it called the vampire motorcycle club, when none of the characters showed any interest in motorcycles and—beyond the opening scene—the bikes played no role in the story?

Bane's choice is definitely the right choice - if you're into vampire romance, alpha-vampire behaviour but with a strong heroine who fights for those she loves - make your choice!
***
Now, after some books that I've read from Entangled Publishing already, there are certain expectations that you have when you're falling in love with each book from the publishers. And I have to say: Bane's Choice was again an amazing read - and I loved every sentence of it!

Bane and his Doc, the amazing and strong Ryan, are an explosive combination, however, where there's fire, there's a spark first.. And those two have their spark really going. The story was captivating from word 1, and I just loved it: the banter, the humour, the love but also the adventure and magic.
But most of all, the writing style of the author just really made it possible, that I felt not only reading the story but as I would be part of it.

Apart from those two, the other characters are great as well, and I do hope that we get to explore much more of this world, so much great stuff that I (and for sure Ryan) still have questions on (I mean, really, Fae?:) )

******
