This is an excellent read from the Breakup Series which can be read as a stand-alone. The characters were well developed and I loved how Cori and Grey who knew each other in a previous relationship together but broke up due to Cori not wanting to leave and go with Grey to live in Texas. Cori and Grey now run into each other again after being at the same club where Cori and her girlfriends are celebrating their breakups in their own relationships.
It was amazing to see that sometimes we may have to go our separate ways to grow and then come back to each other with that wisdom and experience.
This storyline was a page turner for me and I hated to see the story end.
I highly recommend this book to read and also the other books in this series.

The Last Rule of Makeups is a great continuation of the Breakup Bash Series. It's an exceptional love story of real life emotions and second chances. The power of Cory and Grey's connection and their undeniable love and devotion is amazing. Superbly written, Nina expertly chronicles the journey of two people who had to deal with their pasts in order to move on with their future. Thank you for another awesome read!! I received an advanced copy of this book and am enthusiastically leaving an honest review.

Nina Crespo is a new author to me. Love her characters and her writing style and the cover model is awesome. Love the “Last Rule Of Makeups”. This is a great second chance romance which is one of favorite troupes. Seconds chances work sometimes and sometimes they don’t. This was a short read that kept me turning the pages and wanting more. This is the 3rd installment of this series and I will probably read the 1st and 2nd books.

Cori (Corinne Ross) is a chief advisor for a group of angel investors.
Her live-in long-term boyfriend Kevin is a lawyer associate and has recently broken up with her.

Cori and her friends attend a Breakup Bash party and she makes the decision to swear off dating for 6 months. While leaving the Breakup Bash she runs into an old boyfriend Grey Latham whom she hasn’t seen in over 6 years. Grey is a famous DJ and is in town to DJ for a friend and also meet with his dad who wanted Grey to join the family business. Grey wanted Cori to move away with and she didn’t go because of concerns about her dad’s health and her mom also not wanting her to move away. Grey still has feelings for Cori and she still has feelings for him. Grey is dealing with his issues and is conflicted about continuing with career as a DJ after his friend dies of an apparent overdose.

Will Grey and Cori get their second chance at romance, will Grey join the family business, or continue to DJ or do both. All are interesting questions. Why not pick up your copy to do. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I received an ARC of this book and I’m voluntarily writing a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story surprised me. It's one of my favorite romance themes, second chance. This became a much more involved story than I expected and I found I quite enjoyed it. The back and forth of will they make it or won't they was believable and real. There was so much to overcome in such a short period of time. You see by the end how very important honest communication is in a relationship. Grey has to decide if he has what it takes to be a DJ once again instead of falling back and spending his life trying to prove he's good enough to do the job to his Dad. Cori had to see that she's been treading water with her career when she could be so much more. Through it all the both were there for their friends when they needed support.

Cori Ross and Grey Latham were a tight couple in college. They had their future after graduation all planned in moving to Austin for Grey's DJ job. Then Cori's Dad's health tanked and her Mother convinced her she needed to stay for him being an only child. Cori was torn between moving away with Grey and staying for her Dad. She stayed and broke up with Grey but never told him the why.

Grey Reeves is the son of the man who runs Latham Reeves Enterprises a huge family trust. His parents are all about business and they have never been a close family. Grey has never felt that his accomplishments have been good enough for his parents. While in college he pursues a career as a DJ and makes a name for himself. He turned his back on the family business and is getting the attention of big names in the music business. Then his mentee and friend dies in a accidental overdose and his creative juices stop flowing. He meets Cori once again when he's in town to help out a friend before he meets with his Dad to join the family business. This starts a journey for both of them to sort out what their priorities are and who they want to spend their life with.

The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in the Breakup Bash series, but it was great as a stand-alone. It was a short book, but the characters and storyline were developed. It was well written, fast-paced, and caught my attention right away. The characters were charming and easy to connect with. Cori Ross was blindsided when her long-time boyfriend dumped her. Her two best friends were having relationship problems also, so they decided to attend a party to celebrate their break-ups at Breakup Bash. She has sworn off men for six months and has decided she doesn’t want to settle anymore. As she was leaving, she ran into Grey Latham, her old boyfriend who she still had feelings for. She agrees to a fling knowing Grey will be leaving town again. Grey never understood why Cori changed her mind about moving with him to Texas after college. After running into Cori unexpectedly, he hopes they might have a second chance together. Grey’s future is uncertain, but can they have a future still?

THE LAST RULE OF MAKEUPS by best-selling author Nina Crespo is a fantastic book. This is the first time I have read a book by Nina Crespo and she didn’t disappoint me at all with this book. This is the Book #3 in her Breakup Bash Series. I would recommend reading the previous books in the series before starting this book. I will be going back to read THE FIRST RULE OF HOOKUPS and RULES OF A REBOUND. This is the sexy love story of Corinne Ross and Grey Latham

Cori Ross is a chief advisor for angel investors that help small business and Grey Latham is a well-known international DJ. The two also have history together as they once were a couple when they were in college together. The relationship ended when Grey asked Cori to move to Austin with him. Cori and Grey see each other again at Club Escapade where Cori is at the Breakup Bash celebrating her breakup from her ex-boyfriend Kevin. Cori is getting ready to leave when she bumps into Grey. Seeing each other again, have them both thinking of their past relationship and the feelings that they had for one another. Cori and Grey spend a steamy night together after leaving the club. Will the pair get a second chance at love? You will have to read THE LAST RULE OF MAKEUPS to find out.

What I loved about this book was the storyline. Even though, I haven’t read the 1st two books of the series, I wasn’t lost while reading this story. I loved how the story flowed so seamlessly. I felt like I was there experiencing their budding love affair. I also loved all of the characters in this book. The love scenes in this book were so hot, sizzling, and passionate.

Nina Crespo shows us in that we can get a second chance at love. She also shows us that even though we have a bad breakup, there is someone better for us waiting in the wings. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn’t put my Kindle down.

Make sure to grab your copy of THE LAST RULE OF MAKEUPS by Nina Crespo. You are definitely in for a treat! Available wherever books.

this book is part of a series but can be read alone. It was an OK read. Nothing special and honestly, kinda boring. There was no big angst. Just two people who broke up and got back together later.

Cori is out for a night of celebration after her boyfriend of two years ends their relationship. She runs into another ex boyfriend named Grey. Grey is in town after a tragic event and has other plans. The two end up hooking up for just sex but the fire is still there after all this time. Can they overcome their different plans for life to have a future? A good read.

This is a steamy, second-chance romance and, although the third in a series, can be read as a standalone - I haven't read the previous two books and still enjoyed this.

When Cori Ross is dumped by the boyfriend she'd been living with for more than two years, she realises that she's actually had a lucky escape though she's still obviously hurt. She goes out with her friends to a party for women celebrating their breakups and initially plans to avoid men and relationships for six months. However, whilst endeavouring to get enough signal to call her Mum back, Cori bumps into a different ex-boyfriend, Grey Latham, who she'd finished with for family reasons after initially planning to move away with. She'd actually been heartbroken at her own decision but thought it best for his future dreams of being a prominent DJ. He's on his way to stardom . . . a fling won't hurt either of them, will it?

This is a title in the Brazen series, so it is definitely a hot and steamy romance. This is a relationship that fate (in the form of her Mum) tore apart with guilt and family pressure, something that she never shared with Grey. It is a relationship that takes no kindling to reignite it, the feelings and attraction are as magnetic as ever but can they overcome the obstacles to create a lasting romance? You'll just have to read it for yourself to find out!

Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.

Nina Crespo is a new-to-me author in the sense that I had never read one of her books…until now. I’ve seen her name a lot around the romance book community, and I know several people who really like her writing, so I thought it was time to dive into one of her books for myself to see what’s what. The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in her Breakup Bash series but can absolutely be read as a standalone title. I haven’t read the first two books, and if I hadn’t already known this one was a part of a series, I would have never known that I had missed any of the other books. In other words, I wasn’t lost at any point in the story, nor did I feel like I was missing some piece of vital information, either.

What I Liked Most About the Book: At the very beginning of the book, the impression I was getting was that this was going to be just another “I hooked up with my ex” book with plenty of hot and spicy scenes but not a lot of depth to the story. You know the old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”? Yeah...don’t judge this book by its first couple of chapters. It turned out to be a story full of so much more depth than I anticipated. Depth of its characters as well as depth to the story. So, my favorite thing about the book is that I have a new-to-me author that I’m definitely about to read more of her books!

NICUnurse’s Rating: I love second-chance romance books. Most likely because my own story is a second-chance romance, but whatever. Next to romantic suspense, it’s one of my favorite romance tropes. Cori and Grey had a romance that they thought would carry beyond college. But due to circumstances beyond either one’s control, the relationship died, despite the fact that they still loved each other. Now, a bit older and (hopefully) a bit wiser, fate has them crossing paths once again. And their story is a truly heart-warming––if not a bit of an emotional rollercoaster––one as they navigate the ups and downs of rekindling a very intense relationship. They must navigate family issues, career issues, and communication issues as they attempt to move forward with their futures…hopefully together.

The Last Rule of Makeups wove its way into my heart with great writing by this author, and with wonderful characters that I just couldn’t help but fall in love with and absolutely root for. And it was such a wonderful read that I’ve already purchased the first two books in the series and can’t wait to dive into those.

I give The Last Rule of Makeups by Nina Crespo 4.5 out of 5 stars!

REVIEW:

This is the third installment of the Breakup Bash Series. Cory Ross her ex-boyfriend dated for 2 years when he decided that their relationship would not work because he was no longer happy, and to make it worst he took the coward way out by doing it over the phone. After each break up the girls get together and goes to Club Escapade where they let their hair down and to get over one man and move on to the next. There are rule to the breakup club.

As Cory get a call from her mother to find out why she will not be attending her cousin wedding, and while the signal is bad in the club she decided to go outside, while outside she runs into her ex-boyfriend from college. Cory & Grey dated while in college and after graduation they was supposed to move to Austin together, but Cory end up changing her mind. This is a second chance romance of a couple who never stop loving each other and the heat between them is HOT. It started off as a one-night stand but with this couple there is no such thing. Grey attends Cory cousin wedding with him and Grey realize that Cory’s father is mad with Grey. Cory finally told him why her father is made and why she decided not to move to Austin with him.

Grey life didn’t turn out as he expected when he moves to Austin, the job offer and his apartment fell through, so he had to get out and take odd jobs until he made his comeback to the DJ scene. Grey turn out to be one the hottest DJ around. He is also the son of Elliott Latham who wanted his son to come and work for the family. While in Austin, Grey has lost his way in his career as a DJ, after his friend passed away, his life is not the same. He decided in order to receive his trust fund part of the condition is that he has to work for the family in Latham Reeves.

This is third installment of the series, and my first time reading this author. I love how the author told the couple back story and the book will keep you interest from beginning to end.

I received an advance reader's copy thru Netgalley and am leaving my honest thoughts voluntarily.

I love a good second chance romance and this one did not disappoint. Cori and Grey were still very connected to each other and had no problems easing their way back to one another. The pace of this story flowed nicely that it seemed as if their story was over before I realized it. I enjoyed how comfortable they were together and how much they supported one another in work, friends and family, and emotionally. But they are also a great example of how a little communication can go a long way. And the ending toast was perfect for the ending of the series.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Cori has been dumped by her long term boyfriend, and is celebrating with her friends at the Breakup Bash, and has just sworn off men, when she meets her ex-boyfriend Grey.
Seeing Grey makes her rethink her no more men stand and thinks there is no harm in a fling. The connection between them is still as strong as ever and soon a fling turns into a short term relationship while Grey is in town. Could it also turn into something more ?
Last rule of makeups is a quick read with some off the charts chemistry between Cori and Grey. I love reading second chance romance and this was no different. I push and pull between them was relatable and their struggles realistic.
Overall an entertaining and romantic read.

The third book in the Breakup Bash, The Last Rule of Makeups can be read as a standalone but for me I am glad I read them in order. A sexy, romantic read I enjoyed the characters and the story and would recommend this series and author to others.

After the man that Cori has been living with for the last two years suddenly ends their relationship initially, she was upset but she has come to realize that it was more convenience than love. While out celebrating with her two best friends she reunites with the man she loved and let go when their lives pulled them in different directions.

After a tragic even Grey finds himself back in town visiting an old friend when he reunites with Cori. The chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever but what start as something casual starts to feel very serious but when their relationship is tested by their different plans for the future will they be able to find a way to be together or are they destined for heartbreak a second time?

Cori and Grey were torn apart by the curveball that life had thrown at them and made the best decision they could at the time but with a little maturity they may just realize that everything is negotiable except for their love for each other.

Judge this book by its cover!

Seriously! I totally judged this book by how hot the cover was and I was not disappointed! This is the third book in the Breakup Bash Series by Nina Crespo and it was delicious! This book starts out with Cori hanging out with her friends Alexa and Nat at the Breakup Bash celebration after they’ve recently been dumped. Little did Cori know that she’d run into an ex-boyfriend, Grey, that same night. The story then takes you on a steamy, hot, and passionate rollercoaster of a rekindled romance. I love that this book in multiple aspects also shows you that you don’t need to settle in life. You don’t need to settle for Mr. Okay, or settle for that job that just pays the bills. You can live, love and look for Mr. Right as well as that perfect job that gets you excited to go to work every day. Despite this book being the third installment, I didn’t feel like I was lost by not reading the first two, so I’d say this can stand on its own. I’ve heard so much about Nina but haven’t read any of her books yet and I’m happy to say I will continue to read her books going forward!

‘The Last Rule of Makeups’ is a quickly paced second chance romance with minimal angst.

When Cori Ross swears off men for the next six months, she has no idea that she’ll (literally) run into one of her exes. Grey Latham was everything she’d ever wanted in a man, but forces bigger than the two of them pulled them apart. There’s no denying that there’s still a simmering attraction between them, so what’s a little fling between exes?

This story is what I call a one-hander. Meaning, it’s meant to be read in one sitting for the sheer delight of getting caught up in it. The story itself isn’t super layered, and the way that Cori and Grey come back together would seem implausible if you were analyzing the plot too deeply. But, if you just sit back, relax, and go with it, it’s a fun ride. A couple of bonuses for those looking for an escape read? The conflict and the angst in the story are minimal, and there are myriad sexy times.

I also found myself intrigued with a few of the secondary characters, and selfishly hope that Nina Crespo has plans to write about them as well. One secondary love story in particular I feel is begging to be told in more detail.

If you’re looking for something enjoyable to read that doesn’t require intense analyzation, this just might be the book for you.

The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in Nina Crespo's Breakup Bash series and features Cori, who, after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend Kevin attends a breakup bash with friends Alexa and Nat, and decides that the best way to get over her ex is to get under someone else. And that someone else happens to be Grey an ex she let get away. But one night with him isn't enough and soon Cori finds herself in danger of making the same mistakes with Grey as she did before. And it certainly was a satisfying story. That was fast-paced and easy to read, and frankly, I was engaged throughout. So, if you're looking for a quick, second chance romance that's uncomplicated and entertaining, you should definitely check The Last Rule of Makeups out.

4 Star review of The Last Rule of Makeups by Nina Crespo

Nina Crespo is a relatively new author to me. The Last Rule of Makeups is not a particularly long book but Ms. Crespo packed a fair bit into it. This is Cori and Grey’s second chance at love story and what an entertaining read it was.

Having been recently dumped by her boyfriend, Cori is out celebrating her new found single status with her friends. The last thing she expects is to bump in to another ex boyfriend Grey. The chemistry between Cori and Grey is just as intense as it used to be, the only thing that broke them up was that they were both going in different directions.

The relationship between Cori and Grey is a complex one. When they broke up it was not a bad breakup, it was a parting of ways. They both bring out the good in one another but can they support each other or are they destined to be pulled about by circumstances again? How many times do you take a chance?
I really liked Grey, I fell for him hard and fast. The story was fun and I found myself invested in the story that Ms. Crespo wove.

I thought this 2nd chance romance was pretty sweet. Truly a "meant to be" journey.
Cori had just been settling for these past six years, in romance, in work, in her whole life it seemed. Grey, her love from six years ago, came back into town, and neither one had really gotten over the other. They still had their mojo, and it gets pretty steamy. There's much more to this, with outside factors not helping either. They had to make some important decisions, or it was headed the same direction it went six years ago.
I enjoyed reading it, but I didn't feel the warm fuzzies for Cori, she seemed rather self absorbed or shallow, to me, while Grey put more effort into every facet of his life, or at least stood out more as still being in love with Cori, and wanting another chance, but conflicted about his future as well.
A good read, I did have a hard time going back to the beginning point in time, with Nat and Alexa included in here enough or maybe too much, and having already read their HEA journeys, it just threw me off a bit.
