A nice book about a woman's relationship with her dogs - the joys and challenges of working with animals.

I didn't enjoy reading this book because I expected poems - creative writing style. The story was good and that's the only reason I finished reading this book. But the poems weren't good.

for anybody who likes simple poetry and dogs, sure, this is a nice, quick read.<br>
I was a bit disappointed by it-I thought it will be more, ya know, poetic.

This poetry book follows the trails and tribulations of owning a dog and the challenges that it can bring,
I’m unsure if was expecting something slightly different from this collection however I did read in one sitting as I feel it reads well more as a short story.
The most interesting part to me was the question regarding shelter dogs and what if the original owner was to meet you and say “that’s my dog”. This part of the collection really got me thinking about what it must be like for people to have to give up their pets.
Overall a collection that gets the reader to think about pet ownership.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an early review in return for an honest review,

Love of my life is what I would call my first dog. I still strongly believe and know that she was so clearly I had to read this one just because of that. I was ready to be moved to tears and highlight all the poems but it's not what I expected. This reads more like a short story rather than poetry. Of course, poetry is subjective but that is just my own honest opinion. It follows the tale of the authors dog and how it was a struggle to find her another dog to get along with. It's still a sweet read for any dog lover but again, not what I had expected.

Here are some of my favorite lines pulled from the book that I found relatable:

"She is loyal, obedient, stunningly pretty, and makes me laugh every single day."

"Just looking at her lifts my spirits, thinking about her makes my face break into a smile. She loves like I love with abandon."
