A good sample. I can see this being a great end to a series. I love Brigid's writing style and her ability to create a complex character that is multilayered

This series is amazing. I love the characters, the writing, and the setting. You cannot go wrong with any of these books!

I liked the first book of Brigid Kemmerer's beauty and the beats retelling, the second one not so much. Once it was told the first book was a standalone, but alas... It sold well. Unfortunately, this book continues in the same vein as the second as just didn't engage me at all.

I really enjoy this excerpt! I defiantly want and need to go get a copy of this to finish the rest of it! A Vow So Bold and Deadly is the conclusion to the trilogy that began with A Curse So Dark and Lonely.

I received an advanced copy of this ebook from the publisher for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This was a great ending to a great fantasy trilogy. I absolutely enjoyed Grey, Lia Mara, Harper, Rhen, Jake and Noah. This book was a great ending to this Trilogy. The world building was fabulous in all three books. It was very action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This book is in stores for $18.99 (USD).

Loved the world building and the characters. Quick and easy read. Fast paced. Amazing story. I couldn't read it fast enough

I loved this excerpt. I am so happy to get to read this book. I love everything that Kemmerer writes and I am really looking forward to this conclusion. The characters are amazing and I am so excited to spend more time with them..

I really loved the first two books in this series, however, this final one fell a little flat for me. I loved how it was setting up and thought the plot was interesting and much better developed than the first two. It had more of a purpose and the pov's were more evenly balanced. Though that initial satisfaction didn't last too long I quite enjoyed it overall, same with the writing. It was a fast read, and I sped through it. The book was in no ways bad but simply mediocre.

Was unaware this was an excerpt only when I requested and was approved. For an excerpt it does it's job, and whets the appetite of the reader for the entire book.

Sadly, this was a very mediocre finale for me. A Curse so Dark and Lonely was pure perfection and every book that came after slowly lost its luster.

Excerpt review. This book is the conclusion to the trilogy that began with A Curse So Dark and Lonely. I'm a fan of the first two books, and this excerpt was no different. It ended on a way that had me wishing I had the entirety of the novel to read.

I thought this was a solid book. It wrapped up everything nicely. However, there was just something missing. I think it just happened so quickly to be honest. As a whole, I enjoyed this series and this final book. It didn't blow my mind, but I was left satisfied.

I finally got around to finishing this trilogy by @brigidkemmerer and boy oh boy, I am experiencing all the feelings!
Okay, so firstly I totally understand why there are conflicting reviews about the third book. And honestly, for me it boils down to preference.
As with the first two books, the third is well paced, with a lot of build up. Now here lies the thing. Kemmerer writes these really cool fighting scenes, but they seem too short in comparison to the rest. This can cause a bit of a dragging effect through some of the chapters (I didn't find them to be unbearable, but that might just be me.) The only thing I didn't like was the 'extended' ending, as I have started referring to it. I felt the book reached a fantastic conclusion a bit earlier, but once again if you prefer a more definite ending you might like it.
Other than that I was once again swept up in this story world, blazing through the pages. She masterfully threw in plot twists and conflicts to keep the story moving, and managed to write 4 POV's with a flow that I rarely experience with so many multiple POV books.
Over all, I enjoyed this series. And it will definitely be something I reread.

I love the curse breaker world. And although Iā€™m not satisfied with the ending this was an unputdownable read. I wish there would have been more Rhen and Harper.

I feel bad, but I absolutely hated this and it was my first one star read of the year. The direction the series went and how much it fell apart for me, breaks my heart!

This is the last book in an outstanding trilogy that has followed a recent pattern of failing to live up to expectations. It was the characters that killed it for me. I do not understand their behaviors and reason or why they were even the main characters to begin with. And the resolution; oh gag me with a Spoon. (To show my age.) The first two books were amazing and BK chickened out and refused to write what promised to us.

Much better than anticipated. I really thought I wasn't going to like it since I was not a fan of the second book. Author did a wonderful job.

YES YES YES! Such a good ending to the series, and I am very hard to please. Though this was only an excerpt, I'm of course talking about the whole book. Everything was tied off very neatly.

I felt that this book perfectly closed this series. The romantic relationships were sprinkled throughout the novel, but not the most important thing or focal point of the story. While I would have liked to see more romance scenes, I understand why the author did not include as much as in the previous installations.
This book really focuses on the fact that no one can find peace while dwelling on the past and the importance of sibling relationships.
One of my favorite things Kemmerer does in this book is reference the past two books in a way that feels natural. There are single line flashbacks (If they can be called that) where the characters remember just a hint of the past. This is done throughout the book and was something I found really fun and emotional as I remembered some of my favorite parts of the series.
