All time favourite series. Perfect end to the trilogy. The characters and the story developed so much and absolutely loved them all except Lilith.

This was a fun book with many twists and turns though out the book. Over all I really enjoyed it and wish it wasn’t over. Hopefully we can get other books that follow some of the characters later on.

This was a good excerpt. I can’t wait to read the book. I like these characters and the story. It’s very good.

A Vow So Bold and Deadly was a book I had preordered as soon as I knew it's release date. Then it sat on my shelf for a very, very long time and I'm not sure why. Maybe because I knew I didn't want the series to be over? I'm not sure, but I regret waiting because there was a lot I had forgotten from the previous 2 books that left me confused and googling the previous books to remember what had happened.

Book 3 of this series was definitely (and unfortunately) my least favourite. I felt like it dragged on a lot for the first 70% or so of this one, and still don't feel like a whole lot happened. I still really loved the writing, and being back in Emberfall with characters I'd fallen in love with, but I felt like I missed out on a lot. I really enjoyed the alternating chapters with different POV's. There was just so much build up for so little pay off, I felt, in the end. I still give this one 4 stars, because I enjoyed the characters, the writing and the overall end of the series.

This was a good follow up in the series - I enjoyed seeing how the characters continued to grow and work together and being back in a familiar world is always fun!

A Vow So Bold and Deadly is the conclusion to the Cursebreakers trilogy. While I had struggled a bit with book two, this book really wrapped up the storyline and character development well and brought me back to enjoying the series. Even though this was only an excerpt, I was quickly sucked in and needed to read the rest of the book ASAP. Fans of the series will enjoy this final installment.

I really enjoyed this series, I didn’t completely love the second book but the third book really saved the series for me!

3.5 Stars Rounded Up

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions for me- It was good but it was a disappointing conclusion to the series.

I wanted to love it as much as I did the other two books, but found Harper to be incredibly annoying in AVSBAD. I was also disappointed by the part the love triangle played when absolutely nothing ever happened. It made it all so unnecessary in my opinion. Also, I don't like how the ruling of the kingdom ends up...

It was underwhelming to say the least. I'd still recommend reading it though if you lived the first two books and want to know how it all ends.

This book shook me to the core! A perfect way to wrap up this amazing trilogy! I definitely think this a great series especially for the younger side of ya but definitely enjoyable for a wide audience! Brigid’s captivating characters and worldbuiling had me sucked into this book so deep! Also the fact that Harper also has a limp is so powerful and the physical disabilities are not seen enough in literature. Overall a wonderful conclusion the Curse So Dark And Lonely Series!

I really wanted to love this conclusion to the Cursebreaker series, and while I enjoyed many parts of the story, I felt that it left too much unresolved at the end (so much so that I wonder if there is a plan for another book?!).

What I enjoyed: I like that we got Rhen and Harper’s perspectives in addition to Gray and Lia Mara. I missed Rhen and Harper in the second book so it was nice to have their minds back again. I think that the book put a nice bow on Gray and Lia Mara’s story. I enjoyed the side characters and their stories of growth (especially Jake).

What frustrated me: I really feel that this series started with Rhen and Harper, making them the main characters in the book (Gray and Lia Mara are great primary side characters, but I just was not as invested in their story as I was with Rhen and Harper). However, they just didn’t get the focus they deserved in this novel and their ending was terrible and unfinished. I mean, the last thing that Rhen said to Harper was to yell at her out of frustration - like that is not a fair ending to their story. Do we know Rhen and Harper love each other? Yes. Do we have any idea if they will stay together? None whatsoever. We have no idea really what Rhen and Harper will do next, and it is not fair to keep their story unfinished. It would've made more sense for Gray to abdicate in Emberfall and have Rhen continue to rule there, while Gray rules in Shyl Shallow with Lia Mara - I mean, how can Gray be king in Emberfall while having a family in Shyl Shallow? It makes no sense. Rhen made a lot of mistakes but he cares for his people and should still be king. There was just too much left unresolved at the end for it to be a good ending, and a bad ending can ruin a whole book, and ruin a whole series.

Content warning as well that this book kicks it up a notch from the first two in terms of the flame factor. I would say that this one is partial open door, which I was not expecting based on the first two books.

I'm so excited to read this book. It was on my TBR before but now it's been moved to the top of the list!

This was a bit of a flop for me and was not as consuming as the first. Maybe there was a little bit of magic missing.

I should have known this book was out of my comfort zone and that I wasn’t going to enjoy it too much. Unfortunately it just didn’t work for me with my taste of genres. I know the intended audience would absolutely love it!

I liked it but didn't loveeeeee it. 🙈 I think the 70% of the book was really good and was on track to be 5 stars but the ending just lacked a little luster. Or as my girl Katie put it was a like a sad trombone. 😂 I wanted more of Rhen and Harper. But I really did love getting to see them again!!! I missed them SO much in book 2!

I do adore Lia and Grey. But it felt like the author was 100% team Grey. Which as a 100% Team Rhen-er I struggled a bit. I find I'm often more attached to the first couple I'm introduced to. They went through so much especially Rhen! I wanted more happy times for them!!

But I did really enjoy it!! The end was sweet but at the same time I wanted more!!!! I REALLY WANT AN EPILOGUE of them in the future. That would have made me SO HAPPY. But, overall I did enjoy it! But the first book is still my fav tho! I freaking love Harper and Rhen so much. Harper is so spunky and makes me smile so much!!!!!! PLEASE let us get a surprise epilogue!!

4 Stars!
Such a fantastic ending for the trilogy! I loved how everything tied up, how the characters ended, absolutely incredible.

"I will come back to you."
"Your word?"
"My vow."

Fantastic conclusion to a great series! I loved where all these characters ended up. This sample was great to read before the book came out.

As only a. Excerpt, one would expect it to capture the reader. Leave them pining for more.
Truthfully, following the second book (and contrary to many opinions) I was Left bored. I really Felt Kemmerer got hit by the “second book” bug. So much so that I contemplated not reading the final book in this trilogy.

If there is one thing in this excerpt to be grasped it is this: I am An idiot for not thinking I would Read this finale! How could I pass? Kemmerer unites the 4 characters we are given back stories of from the previous two books and entwines them for you to understand the importance of all. To feel for them. All that has been given to you in previous books finally shows reason here. I still Do not see a twist on Beauty and the Beast as it was once advertised. But a lovely fantasy story for fans of Sarah J Maas and Margaret Rodgerson.

A VOW SO BOLD AND DEALDLY was a real pleasure to read.
I was a little worried that I would get lost because it had been a while since I finished A HEART SO FIERCE AND BROKEN, but the little reminders in the book of important events from previous volumes really helped me get back into the story.

In this volume, Harper's point of view is more subdued and we see a switch between Grey's and Rhen's points of view.
We also learn more about the curse and both Rhen and Grey's past.

Grey is trying hard to get Sylh Shallow to respect him, but many people fear that his magic will bring more harm than good.
Rhen, on the other hand, has to protect his people from the impending invasion and from the enchantress, who everyone thought was dead.
Lilith has returned and is planning to take over not only Emferfall but also Sylh Shallow...

I really liked how the author decided to end this saga, it's a bit of a change from what we're used to reading I think.
I had hoped to have a little more background story on the character of Zo and the Jake/Noah relationship, even if it wouldn't have added anything to the story.

I'm really looking forward to read DEFY THE NIGHT, the first book of her new series.

Even though this was just an excerpt, it makes me curious about what more the book could bring from the previous two novels. The world-building really doved deeper than the point that it was in the first novel and I am glad that we are getting more sides from both our main and new characters.
