A survival story of African Painted Wolves, this story follows Blackthorn as he wanders alone searching for a new pack. Eventually he finds a group of captive wolves, frees them, and teaches them how to be wild wolves. This book has all the highs and lows of a nature story you would expect as the characters face danger and starvation every day. I found it slow in some places, especially in the beginning, and the beginning of most chapters was a similar sounding description of nature that, while nice, got old after awhile.

A good rhythm to the storytelling, but a bit depressing for me.

Death Will Know My Name is definitely a new experience for me. This is the first time I am reading anything from Alex Kendziorski, but I have a feeling it won't be the last.

It's a very unique concept and a very different story. If you like stories that are told through animal eyes, you'll thoroughly enjoy this one, just as I did. It's so well-written, you are bound to immerse yourself in the story. Calling all animal lovers to experience this one.

I love that the author managers to create an engaging read, with many layers to the story. It explores a variety of themes like the sense of belonging, friendship and betrayal.

I highly recommend it.

A wildlife survival novel told from the perspective of an African Painted Wolf down on his luck and looking for a pack to call his own. Vivid descriptions of the environment created an enjoyable atmospheric read.

The book was a little slow to start, but picked up after the first third. It's incredible how he can make readers care so deeply about a main character who is not human.

Incredibly well done!
