Holiday Home Run by Priscilla Oliveras

Julia’s family want her to take over the family business but she has other ideas. She takes an internship in Chicago as an events planner. Whilst organising a charity fundraiser for the youth association. Whilst doing this she meets Ben a retired baseball player. She is trying to escape an all encompassing family Ben just wants to feel he belongs since he retired from baseball.

A reasonably well written easy read. A lovely easy light hearted read an opposed attract he want what she doesn’t can the overcome it all and win.

A nice Christmas novella Julia and Ben. She's in Chicago helping to organize a fundraising event and she hopes to make the move permanent. He is a former MLB player who is emceeing the event.

This was a short and sweet story that highlighted the importance of family, community, and following your dreams. I did get the feeling that there were some books and characters that must connect to the novella, but I didn't feel lost at all while reading it.

The only thing I would have liked more of is the romance. There was definitely chemistry between Ben and Julia, but it felt like that storyline was really secondary.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is a perfect Christmas time story with a smart, kind hearted, beautiful woman and a gorgeous, kind-hearted ex-baseball player. It was like they were just made for each other. Their chemistry, how well they got along and how they understood each other and their respective backgrounds was a testament to how right they are for each other.

This had the the feel of a Hallmark movie set in the city, and is about choosing to live in a city, so of course I loved it. (Also baseball. I could read a million books about baseball.)

Did not work for me, sadly. The characters didn't click, the plot - well, I kept waiting for something to happen. And I don't know Spanish, so all the Spanish sprinkled throughout really felt like a foreign language to me and I missed more than half of the references those Spanish lines/words pertained to. Felt it had potential, but it didn't grab me

I was first introduced to author Priscilla Oliveras when reading “Island Affair” and was excited to also read “Holiday Home Run.” I love books set during the holiday season and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the characters as well as the plot. I will continue to read all of Oliveras books!

Thank you Kensington, Zebra Books and Net Galley for my digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

Holiday HomeRun was a fun holiday novella. Oliveras' relatable characters plus a Holiday theme are a great combination.

This was such a cute quick read! Priscilla Oliveras writes such great characters and I enjoyed the Puerto Rican representation she had in Holiday Home Run. I really liked the plot of this one, my one complaint is the length and lack of steam. I definitely would have read a full length book from her with these characters! I hope she writes more holiday romances in the future because this one was so fun.

Such a sweet and heartwarming short romance story. I enjoyed the characters and they banter, the side characters and the setting and it really made me want to read more about them as in a full novel, I’m surely going to read more from the author in the future

Holiday Home Run is a short but sweet holiday romance novella. It’s the perfect length for a quick book to get you into the holiday spirit. I loved getting to know Ben and Julia and learn more about Puerto Rican culture.

Think was a cute holiday novella! The main characters were an event planner and a former baseball player. They work together to plan a kids event. I really like the books that feature sports stars, and this was no exception. Great read! 4 stars.

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This adorable novella is the perfect holiday read. This story was my introduction to Priscilla Oliveras and I look forward to picking up more books by her. I really enjoyed the representation of Puerto Rican culture throughout the story and the family camaraderie. This is trolley a quick read, but the characters are well developed and three-dimensional, despite the short page count.

I absolutely loved this adorable novella! I loved the combination of holiday and sports romance. I though Julia’s escape from Puerto Rico was something that she needed to do for herself. I loved her relationship with Ben. Looking forward to more from Pris Oliveras!
