A great holiday read! If you're looking for an LGBT Christmas read b/c the Hallmark channel has failed you then look no further because Elle Spencer comes through!

This was a fun read! Do you like Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies but are one of the many who wishes for a lesbian Christmas movie from them? So does Holly Hudson! As one of their top writers (if not the top writer), she is determined to make a gay Christmas movie.

She’s going to need the help of Miranda, one of the top execs and the woman who she had a fling with in Hawaii, to make it happen. But is Miranda as invested as Holly is?

Throw in some entertaining, great friends of Holly and a Christmas loving hometown, and this book has all the feels of a gay Hallmark, Lifetime, or Wifetime, movie. A little cheesy, but super fun read for the holidays.

The Holiday Treatment is about two queer women (a writer and an executive) who work on Christmas movies for the "Wifetime" network, which, despite the name, is a thinly veiled Hallmark Channel. They each end up at the same resort in Hawaii on Christmas and things unfold from there. Boss/employee romances aren't my favorite so it took me a bit to get into this, but I wound up really liking it, and it's a must-read for Hallmark Christmas movie fans. Spencer is one of the better writers I've found so far in f/f romance as far as actual writing craft, and this has a great blend of just enough angst with lots of delightful holiday stuff.

This book is our lesbian Hallmark Christmas movie! I loved it from beginning till end.

Holly is the Christmas romance writer for Wifetime network. She hopes to write the first LGBTQ holiday movie. She has a little not so little secret, she hates Christmas. And has spent the last several ones at a sunny beach vacation.

Until his Christmas when she ends up in Hawai with her co-worker, Meredith. Thrown together, they spend Christmas together and get involved.

Once back at work turns out Meredith is now Holly's new boss. Which for Meredith is enough reasons to break up with Holly. Holly focuses on getting her LGBTQ Christmas movie and hopes Meredith will help her achieve that.

But things don't go according to plan. Holly's neighbours make for a bunch of quirky supporting side characters completing this delightful and a times angsty book.

The Holiday Treatment is a holiday romantic comedy with a fun first half that kind of lost steam in the second half. There was chemistry and humor and if you're looking for a fairly light read, this is the book for you this holiday season.

This book had me at lesbian Christmas romance! I keep saying I want queer christmas movies!!! And queer christmas books and queer Disney characters. I want it all ok, but make it LGBTQ+ thanks!

The Holiday Treatment was so cute, a great bunch of characters, who I now wish truly did exist as I want to befriend them all.

Holiday Hudson works for Wifetime Movies and desperately wants to make a lesbian Christmas movie. She has already written a successful straight typical M/F Christmas movie series, and is desperate to see herself represented and to have the happily ever after in the movies and in real life...

The only thing that bothered me a little bit was Holly, the main character had some terrible jokes and cheesiness! Sometimes it was a little bit much for me.

So Holly whilst working at Wifetime, spots a stunning coworker called Meredith, who just so happens to be also in Hawaii for Christmas like Holly.

A trip to remember for both Holly and Meredith, but things start to get complicated when they both return to work...

Ooo and another favourite moment was definitely Christmas Cove, Holly's home town, and where her parents still live. I need to visit, It sounds magical. (I hope it actually exists, cause it should.) I truly want that christmas spirit all year.

Overall such a brilliant Christmas book and the ending just made me smile and ignite my happily ever after heart.

I did mostly enjoy this, but had a bit of a rocky time with it. I really liked the premisse, and the execution didn't quite live up to my expectations. I was expecting the focus to be more on actually producing the gay holiday movie, but it was really just the road leading up to actually starting to work on it. Maybe that's on me for assuming. Secondly though, this was my second time trying an Elle Spencer book and I think her writing is just not entirely for me. Her brand of humour especially doesn't work for me really well. If it does work for you, I think this will be a really good read!

I enjoyed this sweet romance from Elle Spencer. Holly Hudson was loveable, fun character who I found myself loving following her in this story. Lots of laughs as she is the type to laugh at herself no matter the situation.

Meredith Drake was your classic character that we all dream of being with and seems untouchable, the story showed her human side and I enjoyed her honesty throughout the book.

The secondary characters were great fun and really added to the story. This is the perfect holiday read and I would highly recommend having a read as we lead up to Christmas.

This was such a sweet story - one of the most heartwarming novels I've read in many years. The lead characters were very well developed and complex, the chemistry between them was super hot and sweet at the same time, the dialogue was witty and well written. I'm a huge fan of workplace romances, and this one had a delicious level of drama and angst. Definitely one to re-read during the holiday season.

However, the first 30% of the book felt completely unnecessary - instead, the author could have given more airtime to the two leads after they got together, as the storyline moved rather quickly from that to the big conflict. Some of the logistics around how that conflict was resolved (spoiler alert: how Holly's film got made, how Holly and Meredith managed to be together while keeping their jobs) were also not mentioned at all and the ending felt rather rushed. I also would have liked to have some more insight into Meredith as the story was told entirely from Holly's perspective (spoiler: It wasn't clear if Meredith had any interest in Holly before running into her at the airport for example, and the fact that they went from colleagues to hooking up at lightning speed without any prior interest on Meredith's part seemed odd).

This was a very cute, very sweet f/f holiday romance. While I thought the climax was a bit rushed, it was overall a very fun read for the season. The sex wasn’t particularly steamy, so it is also an excellent choice to hand to readers who prefer their romance on the tamer side.

This was a very funny story. Holly has done great lines and I liked the very very Hallmark Xmas feel to the story. I didn’t want to put this book down. It was great! Will read more

What a super funny and enjoyable read. It wasn't my favorite Spencer but I still enjoyed it. I didn't mind that the only POV is Holly, but I would have loved it if the POV switched between the mains.

Here is what I liked. I liked that I literally laughed out loud while reading this. Holly was funny and so were her friends. This was for sure the thing I enjoyed the most about The Holiday Treatment. I liked the attraction between Holly and Meredith though this is where both POV would have benefited if we could have seen what Meredith was feeling. This brings me to what I felt could have made it a better read. Switching POV is the main one. Also the ending bothered me. Not the last chapter but once Holly went home, I think the novel went slightly downhill. It was just odd. I think up until that point I would have rated this one higher than a 4 star - BUT I still felt that the rest of the romance was a enough to keep me happy about Holly and Meredith getting together.

4 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review. This was absolutely wonderful! The romance was the right level of adorable cuteness, I loved the side plot of trying to get a gay Christmas movie made. Holly's entire friend group were great and I loved all the scenes with them. (would totally read a spinoff about any of them), I did find third act conflict a but unbelievable didn't really seem in keeping with Meredith's character, and the main conflict seemed to just be glossed over and never really addressed. But those issues really didn't impact my enjoyment at all, I absolutely couldn't stop smiling through the HEA, and also Holly's home town is adorable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fluffy WLW Christmas romance.

I think I was in the right place mentally for this book because I couldn't stop reading it. I had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep last night.

Don't get me wrong, there were things that rubbed me the wrong way (interactions with Gwen, an all white cast of characters, much too quick and easy of a resolution) but there were many more that made this a great read. I think this will make it as an entry to my "funk reading list."

I loved the humor in this book. Except for the back and forth between Holly and Gwen. It just felt too mean-spirited to be between BFFs. I understand what Spencer was going for - hell, I have friend where our normal conversations are filled with jabs and snarky remarks but theirs seemed to be too much for me to believe.

The apartment complex reminded me a bit of Tales of the City, except more raunchy and funny. Not a bad thing at all.

The chemistry between Meredith and Holly was super charged and I loved every sex scene. A lot. Their time spent in Hawaii was hilarious and I honestly never wanted that part to end.

I really enjoyed 30 Dates in 30 Days, too, and think Ms. Spencer is quick becoming a go-to author for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the chance to enjoy and chat about this one.

It is very funny story. The speed jokes fly out is beyond fast.
The interactions, the circle of wonderful friends everyone wishes for, all that is great.
The best part is finding the right person who makes you believe again.
In this story the magic happens and it make you feel good.

"The Holiday Treatment" is an adult romance centered around Holly, a writer, and Meredith, someone that she ends up working with.

I liked watching the two of them become closer to each other over the course of the story, and I enjoyed the eventual romance between the two of them. I thought that this was a pretty good adult romance book overall and it's a pretty quick holiday read.

This book was pure fun and the best holiday book this season.
Holly is a writer for Wifetime Christmas movies called Christmas in Evermore, and she hates Christmas. She wants badly to write a gay Christmas story but is shot down. Instead of going home for Christmas she goes to Hawaii where she meets up with Meredith Drake who has taken over the holiday division of Wifetime. They have a fun, hot, holiday in Hawaii before going back to the grind. Then Meredith becomes her boss and the affair is over. Both the characters are a lot deeper than they show. Holly has a reason to hate Christmas that you learn about later in the book.
Holly has a wicked sense of humor that Meredith plays off of. They just sizzle together. I will pick this up every Christmas to re read, Excellent book Elle Spencer.

Nobody can weave a witty tale quite like Elle Spencer. This book was awesome! Holly's a screenwriter whose dream is to write a Christmas movie with two LGBTQ main characters, oh and she also hates Christmas. The reader immediately wonders how someone who writes Christmas movies can hate Christmas. We find out that Holly grew up in a small Vermont town called Christmas Cove which she left immediately after high school because she felt like she couldn't be herself.

For years she's spent Christmas in Hawaii instead of going home and when she lands in Hawaii for this year's trip, she "helps" her work crush Meredith Drake (who just so happened to be on her plane) when her suitcase explodes. The two women spend an incredible time together in Hawaii but when they get home, they find out that Meredith has been promoted and is kind of Holly's boss.
Meredith puts the brakes on their relationship and it was really heart wrenching to read how this made Holly feel. Holly's best friends were an excellent group of people that really enhanced the overall tone of this book!

This was a delightful read filled with quirky characters! Thanks, Elle for another fantastic read!

The premise of this book was so good and was looking forward to read, however I could click with Holly but overall it is a nice holiday book.

This is a great holiday romance! Holly Hudson is a story editor for Wifetime Network. She has received outstanding reviews for her writing of the Christmas in Evermore Series. Although she has gotten high accolades for this series, she is not satisfied. She wants to write a Christmas story about two gay people falling in love during the holiday season. Unfortunately, the executives are only interested in stories about straight couples.

Meredith Drake has transferred into the network’s holiday department as an executive. She is very driven and has professional goals she would like to achieve. Holly has a crush on Meredith but lacks the confidence to ask her on a date. Holly feels that she has nothing to offer Meredith. Why would someone as beautiful as Meredith be attracted to her? On a Christmas vacation in Hawaii the two meet unexpectedly. Of course, sparks fly, and Holly hopes for something more when they return home.

I love romance and this story certainly exceeded my expectations for a great book. In addition, Ms. Spencer’s abilities to add comedy into her writing makes The Holiday Treatment even better. I was frequently laughing to myself over the scenes and the dialogue between the different characters. The story is also very believable. Ms. Spencer includes supporting characters who also provide warmth to this story.

I highly recommend this book. Readers will enjoy it not only this holiday season, but it will be a great read for any time of the year. I give The Holiday Treatment 5 out of 5 stars!

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
