This was a quick read of romance between 2 women with about a decade in between their ages. The novel is filled with angst from both leading ladies with a pretty satisfying ending.
Giving it 3.5 stars (rounding up to 4) because I wish we saw more of their professional lives together. There was a big project they were working on that I wish we got to be a part more.

Quick read, some characters seemed one dimensional and not fully developed. We never saw how the relationship affected Madison’s work.

I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It showed you how one bad relationship can have a huge impact on how you view/ handle other relationships in your life. Madison had been badly burned by a previous lover, so she based that experience on an upcoming relationship with Jen. Jen also has her own hang-ups while going through a divorce and doesn't handle their developing relationship the best either plus she has her son to consider. They first meet at a wedding and I loved the hook up scene at the wedding, instant fireworks, steamy sex, but Madison was scared to dive into anything head on after her last disastrous relationship with Erika. What ensued was their journey on finding love with each other and making it work despite their past failures in relationships and realizing you sometimes have to go through the bad to get to the good.

Received an arc via netgalley for an honest review.

Isn’t she a little young for you? I mean really, how old are you?”
Madison answered without missing a beat. “Old enough to know what I want.”

This book is an age gap romance packed with a whole lot of angst. What started out as a fling and potential for more fanned out due to a misunderstanding.

When the older Jen met Madison again through a work meeting, she couldn’t help but be drawn to the latter again. Due to their respective failed relationships, Jen and Madison struggled with commitment and trust leaving mountains to climb between them. With their exes hovering and widening the gap between them, can they finally meet even at different stages of their lives?

Once bitten, twice very shy. Madison started out resolute in her pursuit of Jen, she was flirtatious, bold and answering to her attraction but as the book progressed, her emotions started to get fleeting and there were constantly 2 sides to her, vacillating between dancing around Jen and reluctant to commit.

3.5 stars read for me as I have mixed feelings about Madison as a whole, i really liked the Madison in the beginning, she was vibrant and engaging but sadly it seems her past is still messing with her future and I cannot help but wonder if she really know what she wants.

I just reviewed Too Good to be True by Leigh Hays. #NetGalley

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Madison is a social worker who ended a relationship that left her heart broken and it also derailed her professional life. She decide coming home to regroup and spending time family may be what she need but she didn’t plan on meeting someone so soon when she meets Jen at a wedding who came to her recuse from her ex Erika who had her corner in the bathroom.

Jen is a singe mother well almost to her son Carter. She having a hard time trying to get her soon to be ex wife Rachel to let her go and sign the divorce papers. While at her niece wedding she recuse a woman Madison from a intense encounter.

As they get to know each other they have a one night stand but Jen leaves her number but Madison doesn’t contact her so she thinks that’s end of that. Jen is surprise to see Madison again when Madison pitch ideas about program for free lunches to kids in school who don’t have the income to buy lunch.

As they work on the project they start dating but Madison and Jen baggage gets in the way with Madison keep projecting what Erika did in their relationship on to Jen while Jen have this need to take care of everyone but herself as her friend Nat points out. They both realize in order for their relationship to work they have talk and not run away when things get tough.

This was a great read.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Jen just got out of a relationship and is unsure if she is ready for another one. At a wedding she meets Madison. Is she the one? This book lagged at times
