I enjoyed this one! If anyone is finding Sonali Dev's books a little boorish, I highly recommend Desai's titles!

This is a great book if you're looking for a couple with low stakes internal conflict, fun banter, and a nice medium amount of steam. This was my first experience with this particular author & I have to say that she does a phenomenal job with intricate plotlines and adorable interactions between characters. I think I'd be open to reading more from this author in the future!

Didn't capture my attention and engagement. Interested in trying it again though and hopefully it will take.

Fake-dating is possibly my second favorite trope and when it comes to the family trying to set you up so you. have to come of with someone to fake dat just to get them off your back I'm in heaven. I was very excited for this book and it did not disappoint. I smiled throughout he pages and I loved Daisy's love of all things Avengers.

This book had a fun premise, but ended up being just okay for me. It seemed to drag out and I started to skim just to get to the interesting parts.

I have read this series out of order, or at least attempted to, and I'm glad I gave The Dating Plan a chance. The Marriage Game was an absolute delight, but I couldn't get through The Singles Table. I'm happy to say The Dating Plan was almost as good as The Marriage Game. Daisy and Liam were absolutely lovely, super relatable and likeable characters. Daisy was a badass, hardworking and independant woman that was full of sass and flare. I thought I disliked the fake dating trope, but I think I enjoy it if it's done well and not super cheesy because this one was a huge hit for me! I adore learning about the Desi culture through these books too!

LOVED how fun this book was! The most adorable, quick read about trying to conform to family expectations while still staying true to one's self. In this witty novel, Sara Desai creates easy to love characters with relatable problems. I absolutely fell in love with Daisy and Liam's story and I know other readers will too. Read if you love fake fiance tropes, big meddling families, and type A main characters who get just the right amount of chaos added into their lives.

Yes the fake relationship is a trope that has been done over and over, but that is because it works. I liked the characters and really enjoyed this book.

this didn’t pull me in at all.
i can see why others enjoyed it and I really liked the banter between Liam and daisy.
I did not fully subscribe to the tension between them because when they finally turned on to each other, it was so fast that all the tension dropped
sometimes it felt info dumpy and the information provided never felt necessary or important.

This book had a very interesting concept, but the romance was unbelievable given how different the two lead characters are from one another, and the author's focus on making the leading lady "kooky" and "nerdy" felt extremely heavy-handed - wearing Marvel underwear isn't a personality trait. It's literally just underwear.

You had me at fake fiancé and fake marriage. Why do I love this trope so much? Maybe, because I'm getting married in two months and it feels fresh and spicy to me? Who knows?

Anyways, this book was a fun read. I loved the balance of career, friends, and romance.

Although it had a slower start, it still came full circle and left my heart feeling full. Daisy had me in stiches at times. I found her very relatable.

I don't know if this was my favorite contemporary romance of all time, but it was definitely a cute read.

Fake engagement. Romantic angst. Lighthearted dynamics. This romantic comedy explores the past of ten years that navigated the unmet expectations of high school promises and a present that has brought the two, Daisy as the heartbroken and Liam as the heart-breaker, in a typical desi, familial circumstance that inevitably demanded their commitment. Starting with humour and sustained with emotions, this dramatic tale consistently entertains as the two characters attempt to plant something new, even if supposedly fake, while plucking out the bygone thorns. Not only does the story unravel the complexities and beauty of an interracial relationship—Indian x Irish—and the admirable trope of enemies-to-lovers through steamy and ardent sequences, but also the appreciable South Asian representation that isn't burdened by the weigh of stereotypical reactions or rebellious disattachment, and instead strengthened by the inquisitive yet hilarious attitude of aunties, the steady support of a single father, the deliciousness of food references, and the stunning backdrop of a desi wedding. Maybe a little over the top but definitely fun, this quick read is worth escaping through.

I love this series so much. Each story features realistic characters with relatable issues. I'm always eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the series

I loved the bare bones of this story. Excellent tropes that, mostly, plotted out really well. There were details, though, that tripped me up along the way. The beginning was strong, establishing the characters and how they would be thrown together. A decent number of family and friends to fill out the story too. But after that it was up and down.

The author tried way too hard throughout to stress that Daisy is quirky and not like other girls. Same with Liam’s bad boy status. It was too forced.

The story carried out in stops and starts. It would be drawn out and full of information and then rushed through and sparse the next chapter. There were great moments in there that kept me going and invested in the romance and the personal dramas. But still, the flow was off.

Now, I love good and long sex scenes, but the graphic tones of these ones felt incongruous with the rest of the book. It might just be me or a byproduct of the sketchy flow I mentioned, but it took me out of the story each time.

Overall though, it was still a very likable book. There was just enough to keep me coming back to it, so I’d definitely be curious to try the next in the series and more of the Desai’s books.

It took me awhile to pick up this story, and while not my favorite romance read of the year, I still really enjoyed it. Enemies to lovers is sometimes an overplayed trope in the romance world, but I liked how this one unfolded. And I really enjoyed all of the Marvel references! I am so glad I gave The Dating Plan a try. I read The Marriage Game earlier this year and I liked it but I was not blown away so I have to admit I did not have high expectations for The Dating Plan, but I absolutely adored it!

This second chance romance/marriage of convenience romance hit all the right notes for me! I had to both read and listen to this one because I could not put it down. There was so much to this story, but it was still a quick read and it never felt like there was too much going on! I loved Daisy and Liam’s chemistry and their multicultural romance as well as the side stories of their meddling families and Liam’s family’s business drama. Definitely one of my recent favorites in the contemporary romance genre!

Sara Desai’s next book, The Singles Table, releases next week and I cannot wait to read it!

This was a cute read but I’m not into the fake dating trope. Liam was adorable. It was a fast, easy read though.

This is a wonderfully delightful rom-com that had me hooked by the first chapter. I loved watching their story unfold.
