Impossible odds By Jill Ramsower Pub date 21 Oct 2020 This book is full of romance there plenty of love scenes two make you sweat while reading this book. This was a beautiful story from start two finish. The writing style was easy two follow. And such a enjoyable read. This book is full of emotion and love. I love he was like romantic scary and dark and the cover is beautiful as well. I enjoyed both characters I loved how they friendship blossom. |
Let me tell you something about this book. From the start...the very beginning...we get the heat and we get the spicy. Ramsower freaking pulled zero punches and yanked our ever loving attention from the get go with this dirty, dirty man. Primo demanded Giada’s attention and he dang well got it. And he got mine as well. I was over here fanning myself the whole time. Because the story was like whoa. Giada is everything right with this story...fun, loyal, a rebel, and determined. I adored her from start to finish. I loved she didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life. Because it’s ok. She will figure it out one of these days. But she did know she wanted Primo. Because who wouldn’t? I was in love with the two of them even when they were not. I am not saying things were easy for them, because a huge secret is thrown all up in Giada’s face. But sis handled it like a freakin champ. While I would have been cowering in the shadows, peeing myself. No doubt. But all in all, this story was so very amazing. From the beginning to the end, IMPOSSIBLE ODDS held my mind and body captive. Whispering hope at times and seductive secrets throughout. I was immersed deeply. Ramsower owned my life for two days with her words and even well past the last page as my mind was overtaken with the story I just read. 5 Frenzied Stars! |

This is a dark and twisted tale full of intrigue, suspense and emotion. Primo and Giada have a scorching desire for each other but know they should not be together. Italian mafia versus the Mexican cartel. Is it possible for them to be together? Are they willing to do whatever it takes? This is an exciting story and I highly recommend this book. |
Gida meets Primo in Vegas; she does not know who he is when she walks away with his cigarette litter. When he notices it gone it takes him months before he is able to track her down. He works for the drug artel and he needs to find time to find Gida. When he does, he not worried that she is a daughter of a Mafia Don, for he already knew that, and frankly he was not worried at all. He then asks her to go with him out of the country and she agrees, bypassing her father’s security and leaves with him and leaves the country and travels with Primo. He is also on a quest of his own when he found something out about his mother and childhood. Gida finds something out about her past as well. The story gives you a mystery and one with some twists and turns. A very good story. |
This was not my cup of tea. It was not the book so much, but it was me. Not my kind of book. Added to it, I haven't read any of the other books in this series. |
This book has such an interesting concept where the Mexican cartel meets the mafia princess. It certainly is an exciting tale and one that intrigued from the beginning, I was literally hooked and found the fast pace of the story perfect. Giada Genovese is the daughter of the consigliere to a mafia don. She is headstrong, confident, and sexy but unsure of what she wants out of life. Primo is a Mexican cartel assassin, the second in charge of the head of the cartel. He is brash, super confident, determined, and a super spunk. When he meets Giada, well let’s just say there may have been some sparks but no fires were lit, then! I really liked both lead characters and while Primo made me want to shake him occasionally with his hot and cold attitude, I still liked him. The chemistry they had was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The descriptions of Guaymas was so vivid I now want to travel there. Actually, all of the character and setting descriptions are terrific. Each helps you to visualize the story as you read. This story has it all: a delicious bit of darkness, great romance, mafia as well as the cartel, interesting settings, a touch of humor, and some incredible twists and turns you don’t see coming. I totally recommend this book. |
I am a BIG fan of mafia stories so when I saw this I knew I had to jump on it. Primo and Gia are FIRE!!!! I had never read this author before so I had not read book 1, which was fine, I was not lost. I would however recommend reading in order just so you know all the players. Gia, is a Mafia princess and Primo is the muscle for Naz, a cartel boss from Mexico. When Naz decides he wants access to ports the Mob has he plots to kidnap one of the Don's daughters. Well, this is where Primo changes the plan and starts to watch Gia. Both in Vegas at the same time Gia, plays a little game of car and mouse with Primo not knowing just what she is in for. This story takes you on a ride full of twists and turns. You think " how romantic or That's HOT, " and then you are led down the path of Primo, doing his job and Gia, being a pawn. I really enjoyed this story and will be back for the rest. |
This is the fourth book in The Five Families Series, an amazing Mafia Romance Series. You can read this story as a standalone, but really, you don't want to miss one book in the Series. I love these series with interconnected characters. Primo and Giada's story is suspenseful, fast-paced, and captivating. I loved it! I can't wait for the audiobook version. I HIGHLY recommend this book, and this Series. I can't wait for the next book in the Series! |
4 Stars!! So I liked most of this book. This was the first book I’ve read in the series ‘The Five Families’ & book 4 in the series. I would’ve liked more info in the epilogue and I wasn’t a fan of Gianna or Primo, the main characters. I have a few unanswered questions but nothing huge. This was a good book, all in all, I’m just not a fan of mafia/cartel romances, but if you’re into this genre, I’d say check this book out. *I am voluntarily leaving a review for an ARC that was provided to me by NetGalley!* |
Giada the mafia princess has met her match in Primo the cartel hitman. Who would have thought taking something from him as little as lighter would turn into something, but then again was their meeting really accidental? I am telling you, you need to grab yourself a copy and enjoy the ride you will be on while reading this book. What is a smart and sassy mafia princess to do when she "runs" into from someone from her last girls trip? When these two first meet who would have thought we would get this hot, steamy, suspenseful, jam packed love story from these two. Their story is not an easy one and the road they have to travel to get to their HEA is one filled with lots of emotion and steam. Giada is just as she was in the previous books. She is smart, classy, and she can hold her own when she needs too. Primo is not a man that you want to double cross, I mean hello cartel hitman... Need I say more? 5 likes |
This is an exciting, action packed story with mild steam. My only pet peeve was the H and h were gorgeous and rich. Even though I liked her spunk, I was disappointed that Giada’s greatest accomplishment was spending the day shopping at the mall. And Primo was a gorgeous specimen with his straight nose and strong jaw even though he spent his youth in a fighting ring. I like my characters to be a little less perfect. |
5 STARS for Impossible Odds by Jill Ramsower ARC received from Netgalley / Publisher and author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way. Impossible Odds can be read as a stand alone - however , it is part of a great series this being Book 4 in the Five Families. There are some interconnecting characters from previous books that make appearances in Impossible Odds. All the books I’ve read to date I have rated 5 STARS. Where to begin - the story of Giada and Primo / Javier - Javi is based in the mafia world of a Mexican cartel and New York mafia. What did I love about this story .... so many things ... Fast paced / great storytelling Great main characters Supportive family and secondary characters Sizzling chemistry and humor too Lots of action to keep you on your toes and some great plot twists HEA And yes I am a real sucker for nicknames - in this case Giada’s is Viborita ( translates to The Little Viper ) the sultry brunette with the mischievous snake eyes and sharp wit !!! Giada has never been understood so completely by a man before and she falls hard for Primo. He has not been completely honest with her and she wonders how it is possible to fall for a criminal so dangerous that ever her outlaw family doesn’t approve ... The sign for me of a great book is not wanting to read The End - loved this book in the series and highly recommend Impossible Odds as well as anything in The Five Families series by Ms Ramsower. |

This read had a bit of a twist from the other books in this series -- mafia vs. the cartel and it made for some suspenseful, mysterious moments. Exciting mafia storyline that focuses on Giada and Primo but also revisits some of the characters from the previous books in the Five Families Series. If you like dark, intense mafia reads, you'll love this one! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley. |
What a great story this was. This was the first book that I've read in this series. I'm glad I didn't miss this one. I will say that at first I wasn't sure that I was going to even like Giada. But as time went on I fell totally in love with this unique, brash young woman. She definitely lived life full throttle, with no apologies and was incredibly interesting. She comes across as selfish for quite a while. That is until you dig a bit deeper into her as the story goes on. I have to say that there is NOT one boring person in this whole story. They all had a of of depth to them as well as many being pretty dangerous too. There was really good world building with good , interesting descriptions of surroundings which felt like it was just right. Primo was one huge, gorgeous "box" of surprises. Don't forget also how dangerous he was too! But like all the other characters, he is also a man with many layers . I was delighted with how Giada described him later on. It was all in her head of course, but it was pretty darn good and felt accurate. She saw him as "refined, with a razor-sharp jagged edge and infinitely complicated." I loved the fact that we got both of the main characters points of views. Giada might have had to follow her instincts and reason and guess some things about Primo but we got the inside scoop. And that caused me to like him more and more too. It also put the light on just how dangerous hiss pursuing Giada is. Still, they do find time to engage in some pretty steamy sex when Primo isn't trying to stay away from her. For both their good, of course. The tension is kept tight throughout the story. A lot of that tension also comes from Primo's boss Nazario Vargas (Naz). Naz was one over the top dangerous man who was easy to see was one crazy dude. That made him even more dangerous, because he was already suspicious of everyone and everything, and he's also extremely manipulative. His brother Juan might not be as nuts as his brother but that doesn't make him less dangerous. In later chapters, Giada and Primo did something that I thought was kind of careless when you consider how paranoid Naz is. So I wasn't surprised to see that come back to bite them in the butt. But there were plenty of surprises that showed up in the story and it kept me totally involved until the end. The Epilogue was a good touch as well, to a an intense, enjoyable story. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of the book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. When I received this book, I had no idea who the author was let alone that is was the fourth book in a series! I read it anyway, as I turned out, it was the kind of book that was perfectly fine to read alone. So if you haven't read the rest, you can still read this one! However, I'd recommend reading the rest as I plan to do because this author did a really good job. |
'Impossible odds' is the fourth book of the 'Five Families' series by Jill Ramsower. Told in dual Perspectives , this book was equal parts kinky and suspenseful! I have always been a fan of this Author's books and this series of her is my absolute top favourite! This book can be read as a standalone but it features the same characters as the whole series and I suggest that you read the whole series for a better experience. The author does not hold back and if you are a fan of mafia Romance then this book is something you shouldn't miss! Primo works for Naz. He has never questioned his life until he meets the spitfire at the bar. The one who was bold enough to make a move at him and then steal from him in the same night. He might not know her name but there is no way he is letting her go now. Her theft might not be big , but he wasn't a man you crossed. It's time his little thief pays for her crimes. Giada has always had an easy life. That is what it looked from the outside. Stealing small things from strangers is just a habit to have fun. What she didn't expect was to get caught. Now the ruthless man she saw at the club is after her and there is no way he is letting her go. There is a part of her that enjoys his brand of punishment and might just want more. Before she knows she is stuck between a war much bigger than what she had anticipated. You see , primo has his own secrets. The ones that have the capability of destroying Giada. And destroy her he does. This book was full of twists and turns and I loved the hell out of it! The ending was amazing and so was the storyline. Primo and Giada were perfect for each other and their chemistry was hot off the charts! A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there! |

4.75 stars This is the fourth book in the Five Families series and the first one I have read. It can be read as a standalone without having to read the other books. This is Giada and Primo’s story and it is as mercurial as Vegas itself. From the first time Giada stepped into Primo’s orbit, the two were inexplicably drawn to each other. Giada is a force to be reckoned with, in more ways than one. Primo is the ultimate alpha male, who when crossed, is the type to take no prisoners. However, when their worlds collide, who will be the last one standing? This is one engrossing read from beginning to end filled with wit, steam and high-octane action. I volunteered to read a copy of this book provided by Netgalley. |
If you love Mafia reads, then you'll love Jill Ramsower's Impossible Odds book your in the five families series. Giada is the black sheep of the family and Primo is a Hitman for the Mafia. When these to collide, it turns explosive. This book knocked my socks off and I can't wait to read more. |
This series delivers again! Giada and Primo had a connection from the start. She tempted fate the night they met. It came back full circle with a wild ride. Mafia meets Cartel. She is a strong female who goes after what she wants. He is a man who is dominant and gets what he wants. The worlds they live in collide for a wild ride as only these two would take. Great plot twists keep the reader glued to the pages! |

“Impossible Odds” is the story about the Mafia Princess and the Cartel man. Giada Genovese is the daughter of a New York’s Mafia man and a religious woman. She was educated in a conservative and traditional way, but she is far away to be a disciplined and conservative woman. She is reckless, independent and with challenging attitudes that creates a strained relationship with her mother. She has her cousins as her best friends, so they help her to be in peace when thing with her mother gets unbearable. So, one night when they are in a casino in Las Vegas with her cousin, she visualizes a handsome and mysterious man with storm eyes and she takes something from him, without imaging this could be the start of a cataclysm. Primo, the mysterious man, is the first in command of the Mexican cartel and he has an objective in mind. He is a stoic and pragmatic man who owns loyalty to his boss. But he didn’t expect a brunette with emerald eyes changes all his plans and his life as he known. This book is everything. I can’t stop reading and get excited with each chapter I was reading. I fell in love with Primo because although he is all serious and cold, he has a past, he has motives to be how he is and with a discover it comes decisions he has to do. I like Giada because as well some of her actions were impulsively taken, she is kind, with a heart of gold and persistent. She’s the only one able to break the shell on Primo’s heart and open his eyes about the circumstances he was living. Their love story starts as an attraction without feelings involved but she was invested in knowing him and finally he opens to her. I really loved this book and I highly recommend it. “Impossible Odds” is a mafia book with mystery, action, romance and steamy scenes. There is everything I love in a book. **All the thoughts and opinions written here are on my own.** |
