I'm so glad I was able to do this one as an audio.
I have literally never met a JLA book that I did not love.
But I was not I. A good place when this one got approved. And it being on audio saved me.

I got to finish out a series ai had loved back before this spin off even started and noe got to finish off the end of that too.

I think it was a good way to wrap it all up too.

From start to finish I was caught in the story and dying to know how things would end. And anything with Luc and Evelyn is a definite plus for me haha.
I adored these 2 together. And was so happy I could get more of them.

I did not finish this book. I tried to read it but I won’t be finishing it. I won’t be rating this book.

I received this audio book from Netgalley/Publisher for review.

Luc, Evie and more in the Lux world. YES. Sadly this is the third in the Origin series and while the narration is wonderful the book is confusing if you have not read the first two which I own but have yet to get to. While I enjoyed it, I need to go back and read them in order. Very much looking forward to reading The Darkest Star. Lux series will always be my favorite from Jennifer. It's what made me start reading her novels.

The Brightest Night is the conclusion to a trilogy about sparkly aliens. It gives off strong twilight vibes.

The trilogy is an angsty YA sci fi romance following our normal turned badass heroine and our bad boy with a heart of gold hero.

If your looking for a quick angsty romance with a little spice, this a good choice.

Thank you NetGalley for providing a audiobook of this title in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for allowing me to read this!

I was instantly intrigued by the synopsis of this book. This book instantly drew me in. I love this authors work. I will continue to read her work. Highly recommend picking up if you like Jennifer's previous works.

The cover was great but couldn’t get into the story. I do think others might connect to this one more. Three stars.

I really loved the narrator but I struggled to get into the story. I'm not even sure what didn't work for me. Just found my mind drifting. But I know so many other people loved this book, so it's a me thing.

I thought I would like this... But I didn't. I'd heard so much about this author and had high hopes. It wasn't her style, I think she does fine. I just didn't enjoy this particular story.

Gahhh, I finally did it guys. I finally built up the courage to listen to this and be transported back to The World of Luc™ *cough* ... I mean the Origin series. (Sure, there are many reasons to read this series, but the biggest one is pretty obvious.)

With every book in this series, JLA is constantly throwing curveballs our way and dropping even more info about the Luxen, hybrids, Origins, Arum, Trojans, etc. and this book does not take the back seat in that regard. There's so much more to learn and I am really looking forward to seeing where that info takes us next!

We get to see a LOT more of the OG Lux series characters (*squeals*) and of course lots and lots of Luc + Evie romance. There's also some very surprising appearances from characters I hadn't expected to see again ... I'll let you wonder who I am talking about ... or you could just read the book.

My only caveat is that while we get lots of character interaction and lots of new info, the overall plot in this book didn't seem to move much from where it began, other than Evie learning and knowing more about herself and what she is. Nonethless, I love this series and it's difficult not to feel happy and sated whenever I return to this world. Now to impatiently wait until 2022 for book 4. *flails*

The Brightest Night by Jennifer Armentrout is a MUST READ for any fan of the Origins series. She does not disappoint with this third book! It's got everything we've come to expect from Armentrout with humor, snark, and epic characters. The Brightest Night is extremely character driven, so the action is definitely a slow burn. Once it starts, though...watch out. Definitely adding this to my library!

4 1/2 stars...

The Brightest Night is the third book in The Origin Series. I was hopeful it was the last book, but alas there will be at least one more. It's not that I don't want more Luc and Evie. It's that I want them to finally get their HEA.

This book continues to develop Luc and Evie's relationship. In addition, Evie learns more about her abilities and how to manage them. There is a great deal of additional world building and growth in this installment of the series. I feel like you don't necessarily make large strides in the plot. However, it is developed with more detail. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait for the next one in the series. I hope we get more answers to the lingering questions.

Also, I listened to the audiobook and the narration was very well done. It was quite an enjoyable listen and made the experience even better. I recommend both the book and audio version.

Thank you to NetGalley for this reader's/listening copy. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

I love Luc so much! I am a huge fan of Jennifer L Armentrout and I can't wait to read every other book in her backlist I haven't read yet.

Luc and Evie are absolute fire! The narrator's voice enhanced the book, which I already read previously. I never had an audio by JLA before, and I really liked it a lot.

I enjoyed this edition to the series. We got to watch Evie/Nadia discover who she is. She learned more about her powers and her past. I was glad to have the characters from the Lux series in this one more. Overall, it was a good story about a lost girl trying to find herself and accepting who she is. With that we also got to dive a little deeper into Luc's story and abilities. I didn't see that ending coming and I can't wait for the next installation to see what will happen with everybody!!

Not only did I love the narrator, but Jennifer Armentrout has gone and made me fall in love with yet another of her books! Each new release is better than the last and this was no different. We saw major character development, new sides to characters. Luc as always is a cinnamon roll that should be protected at all costs, Evie is learning how to control and use her abilities, and that ending has me BEGGING for the next one to release!

The Brightest Night is the third book in Jennifer L. Armentrout's Origin series.

We are following Evie and Luc again in this novel. Evie is on the run with her less-than-human protector, Luc. She isn't sure who she can trust and those around her aren't sure they can trust her. Evie and Luc are also navigating their relationship and trying to figure everything out while all while the world is crashing down around them. This book could be slow at times, but overall I really enjoyed this third installment in the series and look forward to the next book. There will certainly be a next book after that ending!

Another amazing addition to the spin-off series. Once I started this I could not put it down. I was really worried how this one would end and was right for feeling this way. I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment. I need the next one NOW!

Jennifer L. Armentrout makes some of the best YA books around. She fills them with depth. Creates a world that takes you on a journey on its own. She shows a world that many other can't see. She give us characters like Luc and Evie. I love JA series. The are great escapes into the mind.

Saskia Maarleveld brought these characters to life. She allowed for them to flourish.

Title: The Brightest Night (Origin #3)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Narrator: Saskia Maarleveld
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok so my babies can’t catch a break. Why?!?! Everything was going so well! So we still follow Evie as she comes into herself, starts to learn more about herself and we see some familiar characters from The Lux series. Saskia does a marvelous job portraying Evie and the rest of the characters she really brings the story to life. I honestly enjoy her voice. I can’t wait to get to the next book.

I am a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout, but I must admit that I hadn't read any of her work in over a year. I was so excited to dive into the Origin series and reading the firs three books back-to-back was great! Jennifer's writing is so intriguing and always pulls me in with how fun her characters are. I'm a huge fantasy lover and not big on sci-fi, but Jennifer always makes me swoon over her books.

The series start off with an older YA feel, but this book takes it up a notch and leans more NA for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the romance. The drama was everything. The romance gets steamier. All that we believe to be true gets turned on it's head.

This will have you on edge of your seat and holding hard to your shirt. There were times I wanted to throw my book and times I wanted to simply caress it.

If you love Jennifer's writing and how she creates such fantastic characters, romances and worlds then I would recommend this series for sure. The Brightest Night is such a fantastic follow-up in the series. Can't wait to dive back into her writing!!
