The Glass family is like no other! Well outside of the South London mob family that is. Don't turn your back on any of them, even if you are part of that family. Luke has served his time and is back in South London with Danny and Nina . No way is he going back to prison and does not really want any part of the underworld. Yet somehow I cheered Luke on. Family has it all, murder, corrupt police, secrets and betrayal. The action is fast , you will cringe, you will cry and you will cheer. I certainly hope there is a Book 2 with the Glass family. Off to check out Owen Mullen's other books. Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood books for the opportunity to meet the Glass family. A family I wont forget anytime soon. |
I absolutely adore Martina Cole and any author compared to her instantly gets added to my TBR. This book definitely hasn't disappointed and I have devoured the entire book in just one sitting. I really haven't been able to pull myself away from this one. I love Luke, he's definitely a loveable character who you cannot help but love. This is a book which really has given me Martina Cole feels although I have felt as though something is missing. The Glass family are definitely a group I hope continue into a second book because they are a group of characters easy to become invested in. This is a strong four star read. |

Took a while to get into this book . So glad I didn't give in it was a excellent read and hoping there is a part 2 to come . |
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC. This is my first read by this author and I thought the premise of the book looked like my kind of read. I wasn’t wrong although I felt the book started off fairly slowly and I found the more I read the more I was drawn into the story which quickly picked up pace. The characters were mostly likeable with good background stories and I liked that the story was told by different characters. This book had everything I like - murders, bent Police officers, rival crime families who are bent on revenge and lots of twists along the way. Towards the end there are some shocks that I didn’t expect which added to my enjoyment of the book which raced to a thrilling end with all loose ends tied up nicely. I hope there is a second book about the Glass family and will look at reading some of the authors other books. |
Family By Owen Mullen 4 Stars Face paced triller that is easy to read. Family features crime family head Danny Glass who is mean and ruthless, his younger brother Luke who has just left prison and wants to go straight, and their younger sister Nina. Written in four parts, that follow one another, building to an ultimate climax, that in the end lets down the reader. The Glass family, through the brutal hands of Danny holds the reins of the South London underworld. In his pocket are the police, and a mob of gangsters. Luke can't see a way out, until Danny commits a crime so terrible it can't be forgiven. Love turns to hate when secrets are unearthed which pit brother against brother. Left with no choice but to choose a side, Nina holds the fate of the family in her hands. The action continues to ramp up until the inevitable ending. The book will have the reader staying up late turning pages to discover what happens next. The glass family Luke had just been released from prison time to decide what he wants to do with his life. Danny Luke’s brother has kept the firm running and been waiting for Luke’s release. Nina is hoping Luke will stay and help run the business. Good book with lots of twists and turns |
Family don't mess with the Glass family. We have Danny head of the Glass's, sister Nina and young brother Luke who is fresh out of prison. A gritty read full of the underworld of gangland crime and going to war with rivals Anderson and Co. Family stick together though thick and thin don't they or do they stab you in the back? I totally loved this from Owen, page turning and gripping throughout. I hope this is just the beginning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

The South London Underworld. The Glass Family, Danny, Luke and Nina run the crime world and are good at it. Family loyalty means everything. Luke Glass fresh out of Wandsworth nick, and he's not going back, he want's to retire, he want's out, but will the family let him go, ruthless big brother Danny will take no for an answer. This almighty thriller is not your normal bad boy gangster novel to be read, it's a hard hitting, gripping, gives you goose bumps, and will shake you to the core, a real eye opener. Rogue detective D.C. Oliver Stanford has his hands into the Glass clan and just wants more and more. A hard hitting story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, family will be the death of you, this book is no exception, loved the characters , loved it all, very worthy stars. |
