This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I was provided an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my own honest voluntary review.

An experienced swimmer drowned,a retired fireman's jome ablaze and Noah acting very withdrawn quiet and secretive

Once more we are drawn into Detective Josie Quinns investigation and face a rollercoaster read to discover who is committing such heinous crimes

This book really kept me on my toes. Every time I thought I knew who the killer was Josie found something or figured something out and I had to reevaluate. These are the best books, the ones where you’re constantly guessing and kept on the edge of your seat desperate to solved the mystery. Excellent story!

Detective Josie Quinn is one of my favorite detectives, so I was delighted to read this new installment for Netgalley. I was not at all disappointed, since I was engrossed in the story from the beginning. An insidious killer seems to be using some kind of mind-altering drug to get people to do the unexpected, dying in the most unusual and personal circumstances. When a champion swimmer drowns, Josie is invested in finding the killer since she was on the scene and tried desperately to rescue Nysa. The killer is coldly planning one kill after another and Josie seems to be one step behind him. Her live-in partner, Noah, has distanced himself from Josie and is not responding to her calls or her desire to talk things out. With a killer on the loose, Josie doesn’t have time to worry about what is going on with Noah, but that is definitely an undercurrent and an intriguing sub-plot in the story. I enjoyed how Josie unraveled the clues and followed them doggedly to a satisfactory conclusion. Fans of Josie Quinn will not want to miss this one!

WELL DONE!! This may be my favorite of the series. Because I’m totally invested in the characters, this one affected me differently. There was one point that I dropped my Kindle and gasped, covering my eyes. My reaction shocked me too! This was gripping and adrenaline laced. It was pieced together so well and I loved it! My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Rating edit: 3.5 Stars.

My second book by the author (I read and liked Finding Claire Fletcher). I didn't realize this book was the 10th book in the series but it didn't affect my reading experience. It can be read as a standalone novel.

I liked the writing. Liked the characters. It's engrossing and unpredictable, just I got a little impatient towards the end, too dramatic, I felt.

Overall, a nice, interesting read.

Another brilliant book.
Detective Josie Quinn calls to see her brother at the University of Denton but she finds a lifeless body floating in the pool .How can a champion swimmer drown Nysa was a model student and a wonderful person.
Nysa’s bag has disappeared it is found in the woods her phone in it with the words be a mermaid on it .
Then a firefighter sets fire to his house and he’s heard saying be a match.
What is the connection between them.
There is definitely plenty of twists and turns .
These series of books are absolutely brilliant and I can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks NetGalley

Sneaky, really sneaky. I almost had a heart attack there in the last few chapters. This book is an amazingly addition to the Josie Quinn series. It starts at full speed and doesn't let off until the end.

Breathe Your Last is no.10 in the Josie Quinn series and having read all of the books in the series so far I would definitely recommend reading in them order to get the maximum enjoyment out of the series.
This time Josie goes to visit her brother at Denton University to give him a T-shirt but she happens on the body a girl face down in the swimming pool and as she tries desperately but unsuccessfully to revive the girl she is shocked to recognise her as Nysa Somers, which leads to the question how does a champion swimmer drown ????
Nysa’s bag is discovered in the woods nearby but it is empty apart from food wrappers and her phone which has an unusual calendar entry stating “It’s Time To Be A Mermaid”.
The following day there is a house fire at a retired fireman’s house and his two grand daughters are almost killed but thankfully survive but they very strangely state that he lit the fire and he said “Time To Be A Match” .
Josie is convinced the two cases are linked but she really has her work cut out for her this time as her partner Noah is acting strangely and not answering her calls leaving her to go it alone and leading her to put her own life in danger ... will she be the next victim or will her team arrive in time to save her????

Another gripping instalment in the Josie Quinn series had all the key elements I’ve come to expect from Lisa Regan, with a fast plot, and gripping storyline told from both Josie and the killer’s viewpoints, a heart stopping moment thrown in for good measure and an ending i did not see coming make this book impossible to put down or get sleep until you have read the very last page !!!!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the Arc of breathe Your Last my review is honest and unbiased.

Breathe Your Last by Lisa Regan was an excellent addition to the Josie Quinn series. I enjoyed that all the characters that we have grown to love played a part in this book and that it expanded Josie’s story.
This story was a very interesting mystery that keeps the reader guessing who the killer is until the end. It also has an emotional twist for fans of the series that has us holding our breaths for awhile. This was a great read!
Breathe Your Last gets five out of five stars from me!

The 10th book in the Josie Quinn series and it is just as incredible as the rest, in fact I think this one is one of my favourites.
The case in this one that Josie is investigating was brilliant. At one point I was like, wait is this really happening? It’s so different and not what I would have ever thought of so I was absolutely hooked from the start, I did not want to stop reading until I know exactly what was going on, and even when we found out, and the case seemed to be coming to an end, more drama, more twists and i loved it.
There’s something huge happens in this one, that shocked me so much, you’ll know exactly what I mean if you have read it. I have never read that fast before. If my floor gave away beneath me, I wouldn’t have known. I couldn’t stop reading. It was brilliant!

As always. 5 stars for this one. Cannot wait for the next one!

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publishers for me e-arc copy to review.

I am continually impressed with the quality of the Josie books given the speed in which they're turned out. I like the stories almost equally, and the same as I liked the first 10 in. Free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Let me start by saying, I really enjoy Lisa Regan’s books, especially her Josie Quinn series. Number 10 of her Quinn series did not disappoint! The story line is truly different, suspenseful and original. I always enjoy her characters- Josie, Gretchen, Noah, chitwood and Mettner. She did a really nice job of developing the new characters in this book as well. Overall, I thought the writing, premise and storyline were all really well done!

Detective Josie Quinn and her team are charged to investigate a series of non-explainable deaths. A champion swimmer is found face down in a pool. A retired fireman is almost killed when his house is caught on fire. Both cases are the same ... cameras everywhere show that no one entered or left after these tragic happenstances.

Quinn will find herself looking for a serial killer ... the likes she has never seen before. As the body count rises, it’s only Josie who can see the deadly pattern forming.

It gets real personal when the killer eyes his next victim .... Josie.

This series has been exciting, riveting, and this latest addition has upped the non-stop action and page-turning suspense. The characters are solidly defined and the blend of personal with the professional lends another layer of credibility. The ending is breath-takingly unexpected. I am so looking forward to the next installment.

Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Another great story in this series. Complex and tricky with not much to go on our detectives struggle to discover the who and the why. What links the murders?

Such a great series that is still just as good as it was at the start. I love catching up with the main characters and I felt kind of emotional seeing Harris go off to Nursery. It’s such a great team and Josie is an amazing protagonist. Definitely recommend reading these in order though because everyone’s backstories help you connect more.

As usual, this was a gripping and tense read. I spent the whole book racking my brain to work out who the bad guy was and failed which I love. The ending had me on the edge of my seat and I could not put the book down until I knew what had happened because I didn’t trust Lisa to not break my heart. Lisa Regan knows how to suck you in and give you lovable characters with stressful lives. I hope we have more Josie Quinn and the team to look forward to.

Lisa has hit another home run in the Josie Quinn series. I just love following her adventures as she works to solve the cases. This one was no exception.

I found this one particularly interesting because it has to do with swimming and I've always been fascinated by that. I was early turning the pages to find out exactly what happened to Nysa.

I loved the unique plot of Breathe Your Last. There are plenty of clues that will lead you to guess what the killer was using to kill his prey, but not the how or why!

This was Book 10 in a series involving Detective Josie Quinn, and although there are obvious references to details from earlier books, it still reads fine as a stand alone.

As Josie leads the investigation into related and unrelated murders to find the link back to the murderer, we are right there beside her. What is the link between a drowned swim star, a hero fireman, and a police officer? Why are so many people showing up in an emergency room with the same symptoms? I love that she used multiple sources in her investigation in this fast paced novel with an emotionally charged ending.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance reader's copy for review.

Favorite Quotes:

Her heart pounded so hard in her chest, it felt like each beat rattled her bones.

He had shaggy black hair that hung in hanks around his head. Almost like someone very angry had given him a haircut and quit in the middle of doing it.

He never knew the feeling of absolute power over someone’s life the way I did. He never knew what it felt like to right the wrongs people perpetrated against you. Making people pay was like heroin for my soul.

My Review:

This was brilliantly contrived, shrewdly paced, taut with tension, and fraught with confounding and chilling intrigue. I was afraid to blink for fear I’d miss something and profoundly resented having to put my Kindle down for a second. And judging from the stiffness in fingers, I may have been clutching it in a white-knuckled death grip throughout perusal. I had read book one before picking up this cunningly crafted missive and holy brain spasm Batman, so much as happened to Josie in the intervening four-years that it singed the little pea in my brain. I need to take out a second mortgage and borrow Herminie’s time turner so I can read the other eight books in between.

I soon discovered that between book one and book ten, Josie had acquired a previously unknown set of parents, a twin sister, a brother, a new love interest, and an adorable dog. She was still an epic trouble magnet, deeply flawed and stubborn stoic, and death-defying risk-taker; so not everything had changed. Every character, even those who appeared only briefly, was uniquely etched and curiously compelling if not enigmatic. I am hooked, bewitched, besotted, and totally enamored with this agile wordsmith and in awe of her deft wordcraft. Sigh, fangirling hard!
