DNF - Did not finish. I did not connect with the writing style or plot and will not be finishing this title. Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher for the early copy!

This wasn't quite a home run for me because I had read several OMG Amazing books recently, but it was perfectly pleasant.

This book was enjoyable, but not as juicy as I was hoping for. While the premise has issues, they were sort of redeemed in the book. Not my favorite, but not bad.

The premise sounded interesting, but the execution wasn't good. I hated the love interest and everything happening was kind of cringey. I dnf'd this at about 35 percent.

I had such a fun time reading this book! There were some parts that I found a bit outlandish and unrealistic, but that's what a book is for, right? I particularly liked reading about Mark's personality and the chemistry he had with the main character. I enjoyed it, and would likely recommend it for a fun read.

Heartbreak for Hire is a Rom/Com. This book was humorous at parts. The two main characters would pull each other in only to push each other way. I just wanted them to communicate more. The book was mainly them just building up tension.

This true rom-com is filled with so many genuine laugh-out-loud moments, plus some really steamy scenes. Such a delightful read that tackles modern feminist issues with heart and humor.

This was not at all what I expected and I ended up loving it. The characters were great and the story was engaging. So much so, that I finished it in a day. Will definitely recommend.

Was not able to read the entirety of the book and cannot give an accurate or overall rating/review . As a librarian for a big library system, we most likely have a copy of this item. I will look forward to reading it in future since I am sure I will.

If there's one thing I'm always down for, it's women getting revenge on the men who wronged them. Which is why Brinkley, an administrative assistant by day and revenge-getter by night, is now at the top of my "literary women I want to be best friends with" list that's taped to my refrigerator. Unfortunately, that's one of the best things I can say for this book. When I first started reading I was really excited about the workplace enemies-to-lovers premise, but I ultimately didn't vibe with the author's writing style and felt that it left a lot to be desired. Beautiful cover, and I may pick up future releases by the author just to see, but this wasn't my cup of tea.

Many thanks to the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review thus book. Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with the characters at the moment and decided to put this book down to return at a later time

The author came up with an original idea for this book, and it is well written, but unfortunately she didn't use all the potential. Heartbreak For Hire is a company that specialized in revenge schemes for women- abusive bosses and lovers, annoying coworkers, grifters, rivals, cheaters ...etc. The firm was the idea of Margo Pheffer, who found her 4 employees at low points in their lives. She has acted as a mother hen, and for 2 years her 4 employees have had revenge on surrogates of those that hurt them. But the job prevents the ladies from moving forward. But why Margo started the company is never broached. The main character is Brinkley Saunders, who has a difficult relationship with her mother and had been treated very badly by her ex, Aiden. She is also an aspiring artist who dreams of opening her own gallery, but is too afraid to take the steps to do it. I didn't understand why the 4 women didn't help each other get revenge on the men that had hurt them in the first place. Brinkley has started to feel unsatisfied with the job, which comes to a head when she is attracted to her target, realizes that the woman who paid for the job lied about what he did and he ends up coming to work for Margot too. Brinkley's constantly looking for betrayal got old and as I wrote earlier, I think it would have been very helpful to the story to have Margot's motives explored.
I read an ARC that I received from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

This book has potential but it had some lacking parts. The main issue I had with this book is the characters chemistry. It wasn't there for me. I tried my hardest to get with the flow with the characters. But it's not there. The chemistry felt forced in their parts. And don't get me started on the character messy life choices. It could have been avoided if they were honest about each other personally and professionally.

The actual concept of this book was pretty shallow. I was often cringing at the "sweet" dialogue between the protagonists and found the whole revenge plot thing to be pretty immature. That being said, I'm glad the whole point of the story was for Brinkley to realize how immature it was and grown beyond her time at H4H. I truly wish we could have seen more of Brinkley & Marc's relationship post H4H because there really wasn't a lot of resolution with that fight before we were just supposed to accept that they lived happily ever after. All in all, this was not the read for me.

#heartbreakforhire #soniahartl #netgalley a work place romance. Professional heartbreakers. This is #enemiestolovers a fun quick read and pending on your spice level it may have just enough for you. #romcom #netgalleyreview #gallerybooks #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #enemiestoloverstrope

A workplace romance with professional heartbreakers?! Sign me up. The idea of the heartbreaking business was so comical, with villains peppered into the story that had you rooting for Brinkley and Mark from the start.

“Heartbreak for Hire” by Sonia Hartl has been on my list for far too long. Brinkley Saunders is more than meets the eye. Most people think she lost it all when she broke up with her boyfriend and dropped out of grad school, but Brinkley has a secret. Instead of the administrative assistant she claims to be, Brinkley works at Heartbreak for Hire, a secret serves that dishes out revenge on men who have done women wrong. When Brinkley’s boss decides to hire men heartbreakers, Brinkley is unsure she wants to stay. Especially when one of the men happens to be a target that Brinkley was a little.. too.. attracted.. to. What will happen when all of Brinkley’s separate worlds collide?
This. Book. Was. So. Good.
Okay, not to be dramatic, but I literally couldn’t put it down. Like I read it in less than 24 hours. Not kidding.
Brinkley and Mark’s chemistry is everythingggggg. They are sweet and funny and misguided and bitter and just the perfect rom-com vibe. Brinkley is jaded from her past, but Mark has his issues, too. And neither one has the issues they would suspect. The more time they spend together, the clearer they understand each other, real love becomes more and more of a possibility.
This book did have a fair amount of steam, probably more than most of the romance books I’ve read lately. If steam isn’t your thing, this is not the book for you. However, if you’re here for the steamy reads, definitely pick this one up.
In the end, I gave this book 3 stars. Probably leaning more towards a 3.5, but there were some character plot holes I wish could have been solved or clarified better. Overall, a very fun romance read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Gallery Books for an eARC in exchange for my honest review!

the idea of this book was such a fun one! I loved the workplace romance trope and hello! enemies to lovers! will definitely check out more by this author as I really enjoyed their writing style.

Instalove, oh instalove. This was kind of a weird one. I struggled to quite buy the premise of Brinkley's job, how it was working, and how they were getting clients, though I found the way they discussed therapizing each other interesting. The ending was a little too neatly wrapped and there was a bit too much Instalove, but this was fun. (Though I never figured out exactly why Brinkley's cat always needed to wear sweaters.)

I give Heartbreak For Hire by author Sophia Hartl 3.5 stars. A refreshing concept for a romance. I enjoyed it.
