A car accident will force Cole Hauser off the rugby field forever. Leaving him in search of direction he heads off to Colorodo to stay at a mate's place.

Jane Spencer, a single mom with a less than reliable ex suddenly discovers in order to keep her latest home rennovation job, she'll need to bring her four year old along.

A great strangers to lovers, fun meet cute with H-O-T chemistry, laugh out loud one-liners and for fans of Amy Andrews this crossover series will bring together her Credence and Sydney Smoke characters.

The rennovations scenes are fabulous and the dance around figuring out their feelings while a kiddo is in the house is realistic and relatable. While this is a sports romance, it's more "off the field" and for this series works nicely delve more into the character than the sport. Cole has a huge heart of gold and this story will tugs at your heart. Give it a go.

I received an advance reader copy for a fair and honest review.

Cole is an Australian professional rugby player whose career is over after an injury. He is in the USA to get away for a bit, to spend time at a friend's house. Jane is also there, renovating a room and trying to juggle the job and childcare, as her ex was supposed to take care of her son Finn but flaked out. Cole offers to help with Finn. Jane is reluctant at first because Cole isn't going to stay and Finn seems too attached already. But the more they bond, the more Cole feels like he wants to stay. Some of this was a bit slow but I loved the ending and these characters are good people to bond with.

Playing with the hot, Australian Rugby hottie who fell into your lap...no, I would never.🤣

(At least not as a happily married woman, I won't! Lol) Fortunately for Jane, she doesn't have to worry about that. She only has her son, a lizard, and the job she's trying to do to worry about. Feelings, men, and using her body in ways she hasn't in years aren't on her agenda.

Thankfully, her agenda gets thrown away and she starts Playing With Trouble.

Best line in the book- Finn's final comment. It will make anyone, reader or not, smile as big as the sun.

You had me at Rugby!

I was iffy about this book, because single mom stories are not really my jam, but forced proximity I am always up for. I am so happy that I gave this book a chance and truly loved all the characters. Now while this one is many in the series and has cross overs, I never felt too lost with the characters. I loved Cole and Jane, and look forward to going back and reading more in the series.

Amy Andrews brings all the feels, full of angst, laughter, lust, to panty melting heat and a awesome cute, boy named Finn with an escape artist chameleon named Carl. This is going to make you squirm and swoon and probably swear too haha! I had the biggest smile reading this, it just gave me all these feels. I didn’t want it to end because how enticing it was. Once again this author scores a touchdown with this heart tugging, full of feels sports romance...10/10. And a cross over book to boot.

Cole Hauser is physically and mentally exhausted from multiple surgeries, and his long flight to the United States, hoping to finally get his pity party on in solitude. Tired of dealing with the tabloids and innuendo back home in Australia, about his accident and his injuries, that took his career from him. Only to be awaken by a screaming, crazy woman wielding a long nose pliers.

Jane Spenser is utterly exhausted. She had come to Credence to do the most important job of her life that would be showcased in a national magazine on the house restoration she was doing. But two days in to the four weeks her ex had with their son he drops him off with her. Now she had her son and a new pet a chameleon to take care of during the day and had taken to working on the restoration at night. Only to wake up in bed to find a Hot man sleeping in his underwear beside her!

The sparks of attraction fly between these two! Intoxicating and steamy! This will make you feel alive! Like new love always does! And the delicious possibilities between them are endless. These two will quickly have you flipping through the pages as fast as you can. Could this be pure old-fashioned, smack-you-upside-the-head, hit-you-like-a-ton-of-bricks Love? Well you will have to read to find out!

Playing with Trouble is a great romance novel, light and fun, but with so much heart. I love the two main characters and their attraction/chemistry leaps off the page. I am a sucker for a single mom story and the little boy here is unbelievably adorable. I highly recommend this book, its a quick read and a great story.

I'm a huge fan of Amy Andrews Credence Colorado series! So I jumped at the chance to read this new book from her. What I didn't realize right away was it was actually a crossover. I will now need to read the rest of her rugby series. I'm a huge fan of Amy's books and once again this book did not disappoint. I loved the push and pull between Cole and Jane. And their meet cute was hilarious!! She also did a good job of bringing Jane's son. Definitely recommend this book.

This is a sweet single parent romance. Jane is working on restoring a room in an old house, while her son Finn is supposed to be with his dad for a few weeks. Finn’s dad says something came up, and drops Finn off with Jane for a few weeks. While she loves her son being with her, it is making getting this job done in time difficult.

Cole is an Australian pro rugby player who was injured in a car accident. He has come to America to get way from the press and wallow a little bit. He is staying in the same house that Jane is restoring because on of his NFL friends owns it. After Cole and Jane get off to a rocky start, he offers to help watch Finn during the days so that she can get her work done.

Cole was so good with Finn, and their relationship was absolutely precious. The way he took care of him while also having fun with him was so sweet. The ending is a little insta-love with him willing to move across the country for her, but overall it was cute.

There were times I laughed at loud and times my heart felt heavy but, most of the time I was smiling. Amy Andrews really held my attention with Cole, Jane and Finn and their antics.

I loved the whole premise of this story. From the moment Cole slipped into bed to the moment the pliers were revealed, I was totally engaged in this story. I loved Finn and so enjoyed his unending energy. I looked forward to every performance review. I enjoyed learning about rugby. I prayed for a happy ending. I wasn’t sure how they were going to pull it off but I had faith in Amy Andrews getting us there. There were surprises, laughter, some unbelievably hot sex and the most precocious little boy that I have read in a long time … he was just fun and I loved his whole personality.

Amy Andrews always has a way of making trouble oh so good. Yea, she has a way of pulling you into a story and keeping you there. A little bit of drama … a little bit of laughter … a whole lot of love even though it may take some convincing for some of her characters. She writes characters with grit and determination. They are strong woman … loving, caring, strong men. Stories with a beginning and an end that always leave you with a little tear in your eye and a smile on your face.

Yep! All in for this gruff athlete whose world is turned upside down by a single mom and her adorable son. The friendship between Cole and Finn is uber cute. Also the introduction of Cole to Jane is quite hilarious.

What a fun read! This is a multiple perspective, friends to lovers story about Jane and Cole. Jane was hired to restore the floor in the house of a famous football player, but a couple of wrenches are thrown in when her ex drops off their four year old son several weeks early, not to mention retired Rugby player Cole shows up at the house for a little R&R. He is another distraction that Jane does not need, especially when he walks around with no shirt on. So when he offers to babysit, she is desperate enough to agree.
It had such sweet family moments plus all the hilarious hijinks that four year old's get into. The writing was good and I like how Cole was written into becoming the Manny, which could have been hard since he was a stranger in the house. It was a great slow burn and I loved all the stolen kisses between Jane and Cole. The only issue I had was Jane came off as really judgmental and mean to Cole in the beginning and did not really like her at first. The ending was wrapped up nicely and I like how they did not feel rushed. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book it was super cute and funny, with a little steam bits thrown in.
I received this ebook, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.

This book was sweet and fun and very in line with the rest of Andrews' books. If you like this series, it's a great continuation.

Cole went to his buddy house on another continent in the middle of nowhere to mourn and lick his wounds. What he didn't expect is to find in the same house Jane with her bubbly son and a chameleon. Jane and Cole could be more different but after a few days, something clicks just right and attraction between them explodes. When reality comes knocking on doors there are serious decisions to makes. I loved this book, it is always lovečy to see family love and finding that you are more than just a sports player or a working mommy but also a man/woman with other needs. Both Cole and Jane are easy to fall in love and they make a beautiful love story.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

"Playing with Trouble" by Amy Andrews is a crossover between the author's Sydney Smoke Rugby and Credence, Colorado series, but reads as a complete standalone.

The romance between main characters Cole and Jane was definitely a slow burn. In fact, it may have gone a bit too slow at first, and that's coming from a reader whose favorite trope is slow burn! In the first half of the book, Cole spent more time with Jane's son Finn than with Jane herself, and while Cole and Jane had a few decent conversations and shared a couple of passionate kisses in that time, it didn't feel like quite enough of a basis for their relationship. Fortunately, things improved substantially about halfway through the book. Cole and Jane finally started to grow closer and I felt the chemistry between them more and more. Despite the obvious challenges they faced, I really liked them together and wanted things to work out for them.

Cole was an incredibly likeable and sympathetic lead character. I felt so bad for what he was going through because of his injury and having to come to terms with the end of his professional rugby career. Fortunately, he seemed to be handling it well, and the time he spent with Jane and Finn seemed to be therapeutic in a lot of ways. Cole turned out to be really good with kids, and I loved the scenes of him interacting with the 4- and 5-year-olds during his rugby clinic. His nicknames for them were hilarious, as was his spot-on observation that working with kids at that age is like trying to herd cats.

There were a number of wonderful secondary characters included in this story, many of whom I recognized from earlier books in the Credence, Colorado series. I especially enjoyed the time Cole spent at the Lumberjack bar with Arlo, Tucker, and Drew. I'm still hoping that Arlo and Drew will get stories of their own in the future!

Despite the slow start to Jane and Cole's romance, I loved this funny, sweet, and heartwarming story and highly recommend it for fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to seeing what Amy Andrews writes next.
