After an accident claimed the rugby career that he loved Cole finds himself at a crossroads in his life. It is difficult enough to face an uncertain future without having to deal with all the questions to which he has no answers. When is given the opportunity to spend some time in Colorado he believes that it will give him the time and distance he needs but having Jane and her son Finn there was a complication he wasn’t expecting.

Jane has planned to complete the home improvements she was hired to do since her ex was supposed to be looking after her son for a few weeks. She now finds herself not only trying to juggle her career and her son but she also has a sexy and distracting athlete living with her. Let the fun begin!

Both Cole and Jane are cautious as she has been burnt by love in the past and Cole is struggling with the end of the only life he has ever known but sometimes the best things in life happen when you least expect them.

Cole is awesome, Jane is the best, and Finn is just too adorable! I love that this story brought together two of my favorite stories, and it's even better than I could've hoped for!

Cole Hauser, an Australian rugby pro, is currently on his way to his friend Wade’s house in Colorado for a vacation to recover from an accident that has taken away his career. Little did he know that Jane Spencer and her four year old son Finn would also be there working to restore one of the rooms back to its former glory. How will that all work out with an overactive child, a stressed mom who is on a deadline, and a sexy rugby player who wants to sit around and brood. An enjoyable read for sure and when you throw in a escape artist chameleon named Carl, you get a mixture of laughs, stress, and of course, end it with love.

The Credence series hasn’t really been my jam but I loved the Sydney Smoke series so I was excited for this crossover.

Finn absolutely made this book for me. That little boy stole every scene and every moment he showed up in and if it wasn’t for hope unbelievably adorable he was, I probably would have DNF’d this book. It took me so long to get into it and even then, I skimmed a lot.

I really liked this story and its characters, I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down!

This was a cute story. I enjoyed Jane and Cole and Finn. That Finn is a cutie. I was glad that they did actually have to work out their long-distance relationship instead of just happily ever after.

Sweet, sexy and adorable! When a sexy former rugby star finds himself cohabitating with a hardworking mom and her precocious four year old son, good times ensue! The connection Cole makes with little Finn will melt your heart. The storyline in general is a bit of a slow burn but eventually heats up and delivers a spicy affair mixed with a growing attraction towards forever.

Cole is at a crossroad after an injury derails his career as he knew it. He's more stable than one might expect, but has a bit of soul searching to do to figure out where he goes from here back home in Australia ... especially since he's falling for an American and her son!

Jane is tough as nails and loves hard. She's been let down too much in life to let herself fall easily into a quick connection with this guy who's going to be leaving any day now ... but watching him adore her son is her favorite kind of torture.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys when a temporary affair turns into forever.

When a single mother and a rugby player wake up in bed together (sleeping only) things go from bad to worse. She has no idea who he is or how he got in the house. He has no idea why a woman is in his buddy’s house. Cole is struggling due to the fact that an accident stripped him of his career. He is staying at his buddy’s house to relax and figure out his life. Jane is also struggling because she is trying to do her job, but her ex dropped their son off so she has to figure out a way to do it all.
I enjoyed how they slowly opened up to each other and how awesomely he interacted with her son. I also appreciated how cautious she was when it came to leaving her son with Cole. The talks they had on the porch were honest and real. Even though they were opposites, they did have some things in common. They both were stubborn and great role models for her son. She tries to compartmentalize her feelings because she knows he is leaving soon, but when the one comes along, it isn’t easy to push your feelings aside.
The connection they had was great and their feelings were realistic. I loved how patient he ended up being with her. Cole was a solid presence for her and her son, even though he was broken when they first met. I absolutely loved this book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Thank you NetGalley, Entangled Publishing and Amy Andrews for gifitng me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Did you/Do you play any sports? From 11-16 I played tournament softball as well as school ball, ran track in high school and dabbled as a football cheerleader for a bit. These days I’m just impressed with myself if I can go a whole day without tripping. I honestly haven’t read many sports romances, but I couldn’t pass up Cole Huaser and Jane Spencer’s story!
Single mother Jane Spencer is in Colorado restoring an old house to be featured in a magazine. This chance of a lifetime is just what she needs to take her already successful self made business to a whole other level. She never expects her ex-husband to shirk his responsibilities and his four year old son to join her in the house. Australian rugby star, Cole Hauser needed to go somewhere where nobody knew his name or his past. After a car accident leaves his career in ruins and his life suddenly has no purpose, Cole takes up his friend’s offer to stay in his house.
This sweet romance was easy to dive into and the characters were easy to root for. I’ll be honest, Jane’s bad attitude got a little old, but I appreciated (pun intended) how she loved and raised her son! Cole was a swoon-worthy male lead that may or may not have lead me to Googling Australian rugby players.

Playing with Trouble brings two of Amy Andrews series together into one great book! I love the Credence, CO series and now I want to read the Sydney Smoke rugby books I haven't gotten to yet.

Amy's writing is always fun with humor and entertaining plots. I really liked how Cole's friendship with Finn was just as important as the romance with Jane. He and Finn were adorable together and he and Jane clicked so well once they started to spend time together.

This can be read as a standalone, but the other books I have read in both series were great and I definitely recommend them.

What a wonderful journey to finding love. Cole is a bit lost after a career ending injury has sidelined him from playing Rugby again. This is all he’s known and lived for so what should he do now. He escapes from Australia to Colorado to stay at his friend’s Wade’s house to try to figure out his next steps. What he doesn’t expect is to find a needle-nose plier wielding Mom, aka Jane, and her full of energy son, Finn. Jane is shocked when she realizes there is a man sleeping in her bed. Not the best way for her to meet Cole. Jane is passionate about restoring homes to their original glory and has taken on a huge project at Wade’s house. When her ex-husband Tad appears with Finn saying he has a gig and can she watch Finn, well, of course she says yes but how will she juggle keeping Finn occupied and still get her project done. As Cole and Jane reach a truce, Cole agrees to watch Finn. This duo is awesome together as Finn’s energy allows Cole to forget his troubles and just enjoy life again. I also love how Cole and Jane find neutral ground and realize that they should embrace their attraction. Of course, how will this all work out since Cole lives in Australia? There are several bumps along the way making me wonder if they could find a solution that works for everyone. Truly a joy to read. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

This was a crossover book between the author's Sydney Smoke Rugby series, which I've read and LOVED, and her Credence, Colorado series, of which I've only read book 1, but really enjoyed it!

Cole Hauser has been a pro rugby player in Australia for years, but a bad car accident has put him out of the game for good. He can't handle the press and everyone's pity and expectations, so he heads to the U.S. for some R&R where no one knows his face. He's staying at an old friend's house in Credence, Colorado, and he plans to sit on the couch and drink and watch ESPN. But, he's not expecting the house to have another guest. Make that two guests: the woman refinishing the floor in one of the rooms, and her 4-year-old son.

Jane Spencer agreed to a 4-week timeline for this floor rehab project, that will bring great buzz to her company, and she was supposed to be ALONE to do it. Instead, her ex flaked on his agreement to take their son for the summer, and she's having to entertain Finn all day, and work at night. She was already struggling to be done on time, and now another houseguest has arrived, and she is not happy to see him. No matter how fine he is to look at. When Cole ends up really helping her out by watching Finn during the day, she appreciates his efforts, and she's shocked at their chemistry and easy communication.

Jane and Cole had a bit of a rough start, but their connection was sizzling from their first meeting, in the middle of the night. Everything about them attracted the other, even to their own surprise. I really loved watching them struggle, and fail, to stay away from each other, while living in the same house. They really came to understand and appreciate each other, and it was so lovely. Jane's son, Finn, was ADORABLE, and I loved his connection with Cole as well. Finn also had a pet chameleon that his dad gave him, which offered some hilarious moments.

Jane was a great mom, and Cole really respected that. He worked hard to stick with Jane's rules for the most part. I also really liked that Finn's dad, Jane's ex-husband Tad, wasn't a villain. He was just an overgrown child who was flakey with scheduling issues, but who loved his kid. Jane always put Finn first, even while angry at Tad, and that was awesome. Cole took her lead on that as well, even when it was difficult for him.

This was a really sweet story, while still being plenty steamy, and I enjoyed it so much. My only real complaint was that I felt it wrapped up a little quickly. I would've liked to see more of the last bit of time there prior to the epilogue. But it was such a lovely story, and I really cared about these characters and their HEA. I always enjoy this author's words, and I definitely recommend this book!

A lovely and steamy romance between an injured Australian rugby player and a single mother. Playing with Trouble has amazing characters, including an initially surly but very kind Australian ex-rugby player, a single mom, and her delightful four-year son.  A lovely story that is sure to take your breath away.

Cole Hauser came to Credence, Colorado to lick his wounds after a career-ending injury. The former pro rugby player had just been signed to play under his dream coach for the Sydney Smoke when a car accident changed his whole plan. Now he’s travelled to the other side of the world with no plans other than to rest and recuperate in his friend’s empty home. Only the home isn’t empty. Jane Spencer is a single mother and professional restorer tasked with a project that will put her company on the map. It’s bad enough her ex bailed on his time with their son, now she has to juggle an active four-year-old and a rogue chameleon with intricate, time-consuming work. The last thing she needs is a too-sexy-for-words rugby star distracting her. Except rather than lounge around, Cole offers to help her with daycare. And if watching him with her son isn’t enough to melt her heart, when she and Cole are alone in the evenings other things begin to melt. Jane can’t begin to calculate the number of complications falling for Cole would bring, but sometimes lust and love can’t be denied…

I don’t know how she did it, but in Playing with Trouble Amy Andrews delivered a book that’s both totally adorable and seriously sexy. Cole has physically been through a lot and mentally is still struggling to imagine a life without playing rugby. All he wants to do at the beginning of this book is brood, but Jane and her son, Finn, throw his plans right out the window. The kid wraps Cole around his finger almost immediately and how could you not be charmed by the vibrant little boy (or his escape artist pet chameleon)? Cole and Finn’s bond will absolutely melt your heart. Cole knows what it’s like not to have a father and he and Finn just click from the start. And Jane’s love for her son, her worries, and her absolute determination to make sure he knows he’s loved and cared for are equally heart-melting. Normally I’m a little “meh” on adorable children popping up a lot in romances but in Playing with Trouble it works and is important to the story.

Sweet parts aside, let’s get to the sexy. Jane and Cole have sizzling chemistry that no amount of Jane telling herself she can’t give into temptation will deny. I enjoyed the simmering sexual tension, but when things boil over Playing with Trouble is spicy good fun. Living on opposite sides of the world isn’t the biggest obstacle they face, but I trusted Ms. Andrews to make it all work in the end. Every bump in the road is worth it as Jane and Cole come to know each other and I loved how they just fit as a solid unit.

Playing with Trouble is a standalone novel but it is connected to both Ms. Andrews’s Sydney Smoke Rugby and her Credence, Colorado series. If you haven’t read either, it won’t hamper your story, though admittedly not having read the Credence, Colorado series I’m now eager to dive in because I liked the town and its residents so much. In Playing with Trouble Amy Andrews blends humor, heart, and heat perfectly to deliver an entertaining story that’s worth enjoying again and again.

More and more, I appreciate single parent romances when the child plays a significant part of the book, and isn’t just cute background fodder. I honestly think I loved four year old Finn more than his mom! This bundle of energy was so much fun to read about and his connection to single rugby player Cole was more of a draw for me than Cole’s with Jane. Don’t get me wrong, I loved smart, hardworking business owner Jane, but something in their pairing was missing for me.
It definitely didn’t take away any enjoyment I had in the book itself. I’m very glad that Finn was curious every time Cole came out with an Australian colloquialism, because I needed a translation or two. But I loved that, since I’ve read other books either set in Australia...or with characters from there...either have no explanations or worse, they americanize the character and take away that charm. No so with this book. Ms. Andrews lets her native country shine, even when the setting is the U.S.
Great characters, a really interesting and different premise, especially the cause of Cole accident and smoking hot love scenes...Playing With Trouble was a book I couldn’t put down!

Who doesn't love a romance that features a rugby player? Even an Aussie one. Well, that's exactly what we've got here. After a serious car crash and the end of his successful rugby career, Cole Hauser goes to recover in America at a friends house. What he doesn't expect to find there is single mum Jane and her lovely four-year-old son Finn.
Love stories where there are children involved can be a bit touch and go, but the relationship between all three of our main characters here is lovely. Cole might not have been looking for an instant family and might not have realised how much he would connect with the four-year-old and his mother, but this love story works really well.
I really enjoyed the developing romance and the way that Cole's relationship with Jane's son and the way that they fit into each other's lives. I haven't read any books by Amy Andrews before, but I suspect that this won't be the last one.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Cole Hauser an Australian pro rugby player or was at least until a car accident shattered his leg and after they saved his leg and put it back together, he can walk with a cane but he will no longer play rugby. Wanting to leave Australia because of the press he goes to Colorado to stay at his friends’ home, mansion really who was the quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Once in the home and finally in the first bed, he finds he is suddenly awakened by a woman Jane Spencer who is a single mom and is at the home doing a remodel of one of the rooms to its former glory.
When he finally meets Jane and he son Finn the first week does not go so well, after about five days or so Finn Jane’s son wants to spend time with Cole and Jane and he works out a plan for Cole to help with Finn during the day so she can do her work during that time instead of doing at night. It actually works, so does the evening when she gives him a review of how he is doing. When the two of them become more it scares both of them especially when he is to leave for Australia for a job, but is it a job he really wants? Is there any way he can find a way to stay so he can be with the two of them if she wants him? I found this to be a wonderful story and all of the characters just added to the story. Very much worth the read.

We're back in Credence, Colorado and I couldn't be happier! Ms. Andrews did a fantastic job of intermingling the characters we've grown to love with Cole, Finn and Jane. Sizzling chemistry, a four year old boy that's full of energy and a freaky chameleon named Carl, this story had me laughing from beginning to the end. One of those you just can't put down!

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing me an arc. My opinion is solely independent of the free arc providing.

I loved Cole and Jane! They had great chemistry. I loved his relationship with Finn. The time he spent with Finn felt meaningful. I also love that this crosses over with her rugby series which I've added to my TBR.

Cole Hauser is an Australian rugby player who has come to Credence, Colorado to clear his head and do nothing after suffering a career-ending injury. His buddy Wade Carter has offered to let him stay at his house there but he wasn't expecting anyone else to be there.

Single mom Jane Spencer is there to rehab the house and put her business on the map. But when her ex drops off their son without notice, she now has to deal with keeping her son entertained and rehabbing when she has a moment to herself.

Cole offers to help her out by taking care of Finn.

Their attraction is growing but both know nothing can come of it. She lives here in the states and Cole lives in Australia. But a few smoldering kisses leave them wanting more no matter what may happen.

Thanks so much to Entangled and NetGalley for this ARC to review.

I loved everything about this book, I fell hook, line and sinker for single mum Jane Spencer, her son Finn and the swoon worthy Cole Hauser and I’m sure anyone who picks this book up will too......
Cole an Australian pro rugby player is hiding out in a friends house in the US after all the speculations following him around about his injury and his future in the sport he loves. He jumps at the chance for some peace but when he arrives he finds he is sharing the house with a house renovator and her son.
The reno was meant to take 4 weeks but since the arrival of a grumpy seriously hot rugby player and a four year old determined to distract everyone things have gone from bad to worse....
Seeing Jane needs some help Cole offers to take Finn out and about to keep him occupied and that’s when’s Jane’s heart melts for the man who has befriended her son.
This book touched my heart, I swooned, I sighed and fell in love with an adorable little boy named Finn, the chemistry is sizzling and the banter is witty so I guess all I need to say is I highly recommend this wonderful, entertaining read.
