This was a cute, entertaining romance that included royal romance and fake relationship tropes into a fun story that had me laughing. It was a true princess story and satisfies all of the reader's needs for a rags to riches happily ever after novel with little angst and lots of romance. The thing I liked the most about it was the way the Puerto Rican culture was embraced by the author and by the Prince. Elena is just a good person - creative, smart, and kind. She is actually a perfect princess despite not having a pedigreed background and preferring her overalls to fancy dresses. Liam is also perfect - in that he doesn't ever step a foot out of line and puts his country above all other things.

I wanted to love this book, but it just didn't land with me. I found that I spent most of the book waiting to be hooked, but it never happened for me. There was more telling than showing, which is a little tough for me to read. However, I have a few friends that I've recommended this to who have loved it already- this is a sweet story, like a Hallmark story with a bit more bite!

Well! This book was quite spicy and very cute! You really feel for Elena she has the worst luck! I really enjoyed these characters and that before the happy ending there was a moment when I believed they weren't actually going to end up together. Overall a great read with some laugh out loud moments and lots of heart!

THank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

DNF'd at 26%. If all of social media is saying horrible things about you, and the first one you mention to your best friend is "someone called me fat!", then I'm backing out of the story. I was on board for the contrived way Lena and William meet, accidental paint-throwing and all, even though nothing about either of the characters really spoke to me. But the story started to lose me when their second encounter was him telling her they would fake-date to improve her reputation. No conversation, no exchanging of ideas, just him showing up with his good looks and an NDA, because god forbid there would ever be bad press involving a member of a royal family. Anyway, I was still willing to read on, even after they turned Lena into the stereotypical Clumsy Hot Girl™ and she caused their date to end in disastrous tabloid headlines, again. By that time, I had thoroughly lost interest in the story. The fat thing just killed any chance this had of me ever continuing this book.

I unfortunately didn't like A Royal Disaster as much as I would. There wasn't really much depth to the characters, and the constant refrains of "bollocks" among others got irritating really fast. The romance was just okay, and the conflict was swept under a rug and solved within pages.

A Royal Disaster (Royally Engaged #1) by Jennifer Bonds is a contemporary romance between an ordinary girl and the royal Prince. Anything that is related to royalty and I am all here. I equally enjoyed reading this book too.

Elena Murphy, a struggling artist and has been recently sued by her ex-boyfriend. His Royal Hotness decides the best way to fix this mess is to make her the envy of New York—by pretending to date. They both start fake dating. The Crown Prince of Valeria, the World’s Most Eligible Bachelor falls for Elena.

The writing style and the few of the very eye catching lines written by Jennifer Bonds, sets the mood for the perfect romance novels. This is nothing new in terms of plot. But Liam is my list of top fictional book boyfriends now. Elena and Liam felt very real to me.

The differences in their culture, and difficulties faced by royalty has been elaborated in this book very well. The character of Elena was just perfect and very likeable as well. And of course, a villain is always required - Charlotte. This one was a good read for me with some great written lines which we make you fall in love with the characters as well as the story.

This was a pretty quick, light read. I loved that the heroine was spirited and the Prince was charming.
However, I really need to feel more. I was told a lot instead of being able to see it.

A Royal Disaster
Jennifer Bonds

❄Whatever.” Lena rallied her determination. She was not going to let the prince one up her, no matter how much fun they were having. “My middle name literally means the unfortunate one.”❄

Elena Murphy has the worst luck which the paparazzi have decided to call MEM (Mad Eyes Murphy) I mean literally could a person cause disaster while venting out anger? For heavens sake! The Prince of Valeria is in NY city for business reasons what are the chances of her crossing paths with him but that's exactly what happens.

This story even though not relatable from personal experience was so connective and so adorable I mean I was swooning left and right with Liam in the picture. But every Cinderella story comes to an end doesn't it 🥺

So I'm pretty sure it's a must read for all contemporary romance readers it's more like a fairytale retelling with a twist only there's no fairy godmother or is there one 😉

Trigger warnings: self depreciation, curses, paparazzi problems coz which celebrity stories don't have it 🤷‍♀️

Anyway I hope u love it, this story was so wholesome, and sucked me into the story from the first page so it's a Page-turner for sure, and the chemistry is off the charts, swoony character check, word play was fun and the writing style was flowing smoothly, two person POV.

That's all about the book I don't know why you're still here reading this and not running to get your copy rn 🤷‍♀️

Heat Factor: I didn’t get far enough for sex, but they’re having hot smooches by 35% so I’d be optimistic
Character Chemistry: It was good, but I should have been more invested by the time I DNFed in order to make it really click
Plot: He’s the heir with overbearing parents and political problems blah, blah, blah; she’s the clumsy commoner who’s a breath of fresh air but could never really be with him blah, blah, blah
Overall: I was so optimistic about having a fun fake relationship comfort read but I really just cannot deal with this one

Full disclosure: I DNFed this at 37% because I was both bored and annoyed to the point that if Liam had said that he just couldn’t be wild and fun because court and responsibilities one more time, I was going to throw my phone. By 25% I was like, “WHY ARE THERE SO MANY WORDS?”

I get it. Lena has a hard life and she’s a starving artist and she’s clumsy and did I mention that she’s a starving artist who has a hard life who is clumsy?

And did we mention that Liam is the crown prince so he can’t cut loose because he has responsibilities and he needs to be responsible because if he’s not responsible then it’s going to be the end of the monarchy and everyone knows that if you have any fun it’s irresponsible?

And also Liam’s parents are overbearing royals who want to control their children and also don’t love each other at all?

And all Liam's references to things happening at court are weird. Like, is this imaginary monarchy also still somehow in the middle ages? Do they still have courtiers at court? Is that a thing?

Of course, we can't forget that if Liam doesn't marry the proper sort of woman, he forfeits the crown!

The most interesting thing about this book is that Lena's ex boyfriend is suing her and she's already broke…
… And even though we keep being reminded of this, still NOTHING IS HAPPENING.

So, uh, long story short, I just wasn't excited to keep going when I have ten other active books vying for my attention and a TBR that won’t quit.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. We disclose this in accordance with 16 CFR §255.

I am a sucker for royal romances- historical, modern, I don’t care as long as someone is wearing a crown. This one delivered the most fantastically tragic meet cute and delivered so much clumsiness that I could definitely relate to!⁣
⁣
Our heroine is an artist and decides to throw paint on the mural of her ex, except someone steps in between her throw and the mural..... and he’s a hot Royal of a European country. Oh and paparazzi capture the moment and her business tanks. That is until our hot Royal hero comes up with a solution- fake dating to drum up business for her again.⁣
⁣
This was a cute, warm, Royal romance with heat that didn’t require overthinking and it was exactly what I needed. I loved our clumsy heroine who seems to have a massive streak of bad luck, and our Royal hero who wants to prove himself. This book felt like a little bit of light hearted magic!

This a fun, romantic read with a swoonworthy leading man! Liam, a prince, and Elena, a starving artist trying to keep her business afloat, agree to fake relationship in order to put off Liam's parents need for him to get engaged. The two have immediate chemistry and lots of humor in their banter. This light-hearted romance novel is a great read!

I read A Royal Disaster in one sitting, it was unputdownable. Jennifer Bonds wrote a fast paced and fun romance. Liam was wonderful, not perfect, but close enough. He was adorable, funny, and had more confidence than anyone should. While Liam was great, Elena was what made this story fabulous. She's a bit of a hot mess, but she's REAL. Things happen, she's not the perfect and "trainable" girlfirend for Liam. She has a wonderful art studio that she cares about more than anything, and will do anything for. She knows she's a bit accident prone and tries to steer Liam away, but it doesn't work.

Liam and Elena have a whirlwind romance, but it really works. Highly recommend.

This was a really cute royalty romance with Liam as the prince from a foreign country who is visiting NYC when he finds a shortcut while ducking his bodyguards and lands up as art when Elena throws paint on him. All would have walked away but a journalist is following him and catches it on video and so Elena becomes famous if a very negative way.

Elena is a hispanic woman who has bad luck in life and in love. Her latest ex is suing her and her life is a series of mishaps as she is very klutzy. She runs her own art gallery and when she is painting some art she ends up covering Liam in paint.

When she becomes famous for attacking the prince he decides to rescue her by dating her and trying to help her by turning her klutzy accident into something that can help her. And thats when the fun begins as they start being real with each other which is a very new thing for Liam and he finds he loves being treated like a man rather than a prince.

This was a fun trope with the gorgeous prince falling for the regular girl and I found it original as he tries to rescue her from the bad press related to a paint accident. Elena brings a lightness to the prince and he brings a stability to her life that her exes never gave her. It was a sweet, sexy and adorable romance and I really enjoyed it. I did feel at times that it moved slowly and I would have liked a faster pace, but its a fun read.

I really wanted to love this one. I really did. Unfortunately, I just didn't.

I didn't really believe in the characters, or in their attraction. It fell really flat for me.

I am unable to recommend this title.

This is a new author for me, and I truly loved it. Story is about a Crowned Royal Prince Liam, who trespasses on an artists (Lena) outside back area of her business, and unknowingly right in the way of Lena throwing paint on a wall which starts of a very funny and challenging relationship for both. I loved both Lena and Liam, complete opposites which made this such a great story to read. I loved the haphazard situations Lena got herself into, and how that was what Liam loved the most about her. Steamy scenes, hysterical situations and a great supporting cast made this a great read. Jinx was hysterical.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

A Royal Disaster is a cute take on a royal love story mixed with Murphy’s Law disasters, Pretty Woman romance, and Cinderella fairy tales. While a little predictable, this book was a thoroughly enjoyable happily ever after with enough delectable side characters to make this a fun series. I laughed, I cried a little, and all in all had a great time with these characters. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for a book two in this world!
