If you cross Cinderella fairytales with a slapstick-ish series of unfortunate events you get A Royal Disaster.

Lena Murphy is an accident prone art studio owner from New York. Her heritage is partly Puerto Rican and she cusses in Spanish a lot. I'm not fluent in Spanish but I think I usually got the gist. She has plenty of reasons to cuss, as her ex is suing her and she just threw paint on a hottie prince and got maligned in the press for it. Liam is the crown prince of Valeria, visiting America to strike some trade deals. As far as imaginary countries go, Valeria's laws are pretty old fashioned when it comes to royal marriages. . Liam is being pressured to marry a suitable noblewoman and Lena doesn't fit the ideal. They agree to fake date to try and repair Lena's reputation, One thing leads to another that leads to orgasms, and the fake relationship turns to a pretty hot fling. But the Royal Marriages Act is a shadow hanging behind Liam.

This started out cute and funny and I loved the beginning. Somewhere in the middle it started to drag a little because there was too little talk about anything important, like "what the heck are we doing here?", and "are we still pretending?" My attention wandered to some other books but fortunately when I picked it up again. it got better in the end again.

I don't know if this is part of a series but it feels like Lena's friend Nia and Liam's brother might be getting their own books later.

This is my first book by this author and I got the ARC from Netgalley..

If you're looking for an X-rated Hallmark-style romance, this is the book for you!

Elena (Lena) is a fiery studio owner trying to keep art alive in her New York community. While painting a mural in her back alley, she accidentally throws a bucket of royal purple at none other than a royal himself: William (Liam), the crown prince of Valeria. When paparazzi catch the whole thing and paint (pun intended) Lena out to be violent and erratic, her studio begins to tank. Liam's solution: fake a relationship with a one-month end date. However, as the two begin to develop real feelings for one another, they find themselves wondering whether this is the stuff of fairytales or heartbreak.

Like I said in my opening line, this book is for people who want a saucy, stereotypical romance. Unfortunately, I am not the kind of person who likes Hallmark romances, so it's hard to be objective in writing this review.

Bonds had so many positive aspects to her book: a strong Latinx female lead, side characters with their own lives and motivations, and an attention to the struggles of both artists and women in this modern age. However, there were several tropes that I, myself, were turned off by: the somewhat unrealistic but altogether predictable happy ending, the clumsy yet somehow independent female character, the dashing prince whose POV sections almost always have some mention of his, as they say... royal scepter... and so on. These tropes just don't work for me as a reader.

That said, I would absolutely recommend this novel to anyone who does enjoy a Hallmark love story with a real kick to it!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Elena is an accident prone artist who meets Liam when he is on the run from photographers. After she beomes hated on the internet after accidently covering him in paint, he decides the best way to help her out is to fake date her. He also has his own reasons for doing this, so what will happen when she finds out the truth?

A great read.

Royal romances can be a bit hit-and-miss for me, but with such a cute cover, and an interesting synopsis I was certainly excited to read A Royal Disaster and I'm glad I did. As it was definitely more hit than miss even though parts felt tried and tested and somewhat familiar. But there was also something genuinely fun and entertaining about this story, and the characters were great. Especially klutzy starving artist Lena, and the romance between her and Prince William (Liam) was engaging not to mention sweet and steamy. And I was thoroughly charmed throughout.

Which is why I would happily recommend this story to others and will certainly be looking out for the next Royally Engaged book in the series.

4.5/5 stars! When the heroine learns about her ex-boyfriend's lawsuit against her, she needed to use her artistic outlet to vent. And as she threw purple paint to her wall canvas, out stepped the hero right as said paint was thrown. To add to it, the whole scene is caught by the paparazzi. Therefore, the heroine's reputation is in tatters because the hero is actually a prince. To make reparations, the hero asked the heroine to enter a fake relationship, which he also hoped can ease the pressure that his royal parents have for him to marry soon. With the help of friends, extended family, and personal charm, the hero and heroine fall in love, but will it last? With the beginning of this book, I found the story to be entertaining and engaging with colorful characters and a couple that stood strong and resilient. I found the heroine's extended family to be loving and hope to read more of the hero's siblings in future books. I also would have liked to have the resolution to the lawsuit to be extended for my own personal pleasure. I enjoyed the sexy times and the funny times that the couple have. And there was also the cat, who definitely has some opinions of its own. In conclusion, this is a wonderful start to the series and I look forward to reading more Jennifer Bonds books. **I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

If you want a fun romance to read put A Royal Disaster on top of the list!

A Royal Disaster gives me Pretty Woman vibes with an artist who is just making enough money to be able to keep her business and home afloat when she meets Prince William of Valeria trying to escape the paparazzi when she accidently throws pain on him.

Prince Liam is fascinated that Elena has no idea who he is and treated like an average person. He decides to help Elena by pretending to date her to save her business and home when the media goes against her.

A Royal Disaster by Jennifer Bonds is a fun romance that makes you want to eat with Elena’s family.

I was given an ARC by Entangled publishing in exchange for an honest opinion.

First things first, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The writing was fun and easy to read. So much so that I read the book in one sitting. Lena is a mess in the best way. Her antics and her passion for art makes her and extremely likeable character. Liam is the perfect romance hero. He’s sweet, kind and lovable. They’re chemistry and back and forth made it an incredibly enjoyable read. The book also set up a romance for the next book which is very exciting.

My biggest issue with this book is that there was a lot of showing and then telling almost immediately. Which at times seemed a bit cumbersome. I also would have preferred if we would have gotten to see the ending instead of just being told. I think it would have made a great opportunity for a second book instead it just kind of fell flat as an epilogue.

Cute, yet predictable story about a prince who falls in love with an American. I LIKED the story, it was predictable and a little hard to believe. But, it was fun and a quick read for me.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Romance: ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Writing: ✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️

This story was so much fun to read. It was a bit longer than the books a usually read but I still enjoyed every second of it. It didn’t feel like it was long. The characters grew throughout the story and became the best versions of themselves by the end. The story was hilarious. Elena was a walking tornado but I loved every little bit of her. I loved all of her antics. I also really liked the mix of language. Elena incorporated a lot of Spanish and Liam included a lot of British slang. The story was very real and was easy to imagine. Nia was amazing. She was just the perfect best friend! I really enjoyed this story.

The story follows Liam and Elena. Liam is the crown prince of Valeria. He’s come to New York to settle some trade agreements. The monarchy in Valeria is threatened because the Parliament may take over. That is why it is very important to complete this task. Elena has just been sued by her ex-boyfriend though she didn’t deserve it. She might have to sell her art studio which is her passion, her art, and her life. It was her parents’ place until they passed in a car crash. While Elena is taking out her anger about her ex, repainting a mural, she spills an entire can of bright purple paint on Liam, who was trying to escape the paparazzi. Some reporter catches this moment creating Mad Eyes Murphy (aka Elena) into a viral sensation. Elena loses many customers in her art studio and is set back much further. So Liam simply suggests that they create a fake relationship.

First off, this cover is what grabbed my attention. I love the colors and the details.

Second off, I was hooked from sentence one. The book just flowed.

Lena is a struggling artist who's studio is also in the red - she needs to be in the black ASAP. Liam turns up and turns her world around, with a ton of mishaps that can't help but make you giggle while reading about them. They start a partnership based on a fake relationship that doesn't stay fake for very long.

This book is adorable and pulls at your heart strings all at once.

I liked the idea of A Royal Disaster. The premise was fun and the steam was great. It's always a little dreamy to read a regular girl marries a prince story, but this one felt a teensy bit slow. I don't know for sure if it was too long or if it really had some slumps, but while being good, didn't keep me engaged. I LOVED the ending though.

Funny adult fake romance story between a New York romance and Crown prince.
The story was upbeat and enjoyable but with little nuance which ended up being very predictable.

This was exactly what I needed. Some rom com goodness to lighten up the world.
HRH & MEM. I can’t. I laughed so hard at some of the incredible circumstances that seemed to surround Elena.
Add in a overwhelming Hispanic family, a best friend, a cat that can’t get out of the way, and an ex that won’t disappear, and this was a great adventure into royalty.

I thoroughly enjoy this read. Liam and Elena's relationship was cute and fun. This was a funny meet cute that almost ruined Elena's business. Liam is such a good, thoughtful person for having grown up in a life of privilege and does everything he can to help fix her business.

Not your typical a royal who doesn't want to be royal book, but a royal who has wanted nothing but to be king and is blindsided by purple paint on his way there. This book was full of funny and sweet characters and some good steamy moments..the nod to Pretty woman had me swooning.

A Royal Disaster by Jennifer Bonds was an enjoyable read. It had a lot of classic tropes and was really predictable for the most part. It's about Lena, an artist in New York who has a disastrous first meeting with Liam, the heir to the throne of Valeria. Unaware that he is a prince, Lena treats him like she would anyone else and that fascinates Liam. When their meeting is captured by the paparazzi and Lena is dragged through the mud by the public, they strike a deal. They fake a relationship so Lena can get her business back on track and unbeknownst to Lena, Liam can get his parents to stop forcing him into a royal marriage.

The characters themselves were very stereotypical in a way. More cliched than stereotypical. Lena was this talented but clumsy artist who managed to make a mess of everything she touched. Liam was the "perfect" prince, doing everything that was needed of him and sacrificing the things he wants until he meets Lena.

If you've read a lot of romance novels, you could probably predict everything that happened. There wasn't a whole lot about the book and the story that really surprised me. It did make me smile at times and had some really adorable moments. But for the most part it was a classic romance.

One of my favorite parts was the way the author made Lena's culture and heritage a huge part of this story. There were little moments and big moments sprinkled throughout the story that highlighted her history and her traditions. Her family was a great addition to the story as well. The scenes with them were really sweet!

There were a couple plot points that were left unfinished and I'm assuming it's because the author intends to continue this a series, focusing on different characters. I would recommend this book as a one time read if you're looking for a light romance with a HEA.

A solid rom-com with a quirky leading lady and an almost perfect prince. Elena and Liam were so fun to read. She was adorable, I can't imagine anyone not liking her as a character. Honestly, all of the characters were likeable. I just wish we got to see more of Nia and her quest for Ethan! Maybe next time?

This book just ended up being ok for me. There wasn’t really anything original about it. I feel like it’s being set up for a sequel but I feel like hardly anything was Even said about valeria or Xander. Thank you to netgalley to the arc.

I enjoyed the first few chapters, the way the 2 main characters meet was quite different. However, a few chapters in this story resembled another royally series.
