I love Yor, Loid and Anya! They are just a quirky family. I can't wait to see them actually become a real family. I already see Loid and Yor really falling for one another. Anya is too funny. Yor's brother has a serious sister complex. Loid needs to beat him up lol.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

This series is amazing! I love how funny it is. I will continue to read it and recommend it to everyone.
This book did seem to move the plot a bit -- the getting closer to the main targets, but we have to remember it isn't the main part of the story. I adore all the characters and love how Anya is trying so hard to help Twilight.

Another fun volume of "Spy x Family!" Yor's younger brother is ridiculous and the two of them together combined with Agent Twilight's accurate, but not accurate read of the situation made for a silly read. I cannot wait to read the next volume!

4.5. I enjoyed seeing Anya learn how to best use her powers, and the almost-romantic moments between Yor and Loid were adorably awkward. Her brother's possessiveness is creepy, but otherwise I liked everything about this.

This series is the manga equivalent of a Quentin Tarantino collaboration with the Cohen brothers. Farcical, fast paced, bloody, silly, serious emotions, big stakes, stylish, and awkward. We get a little deeper in the character's lives, see the places where the cracks in their family of convenience are going to show and where actual romance and familial love might grow. There's progress on he spy mission, and lots and lots of bizarre yet somehow just right set pieces. It is so over the top and so much fun.

I can barely contain how much I love this book and series! I usually like to review closer to the date of publication, but I couldn't hold back on how I felt about this any longer.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES!!!

The characters are all so precious, I just want to (very carefully) hug them all. The setting/world is well done and the writing keeps me turning pages, while I hold my breath and hope that our MCs will succeed AND become a truly loving family. I want them to be happy so hard it HURTS.

And the teaser at the end of this volume?

SPOILER WARNING

(They are going to be getting a dog, and you KNOW it has to have some sort of special powers TOO!)

End spoiler.

I am a gibbering, tearful MESS as I wait for the next volume to come out.

It does have violence, most of it cartoon-y, imbibing alcohol to drunkenness and some talk of kissing and a bit of weirdness regarding how an adult male views his older sister, so YA on up. Middle grade would depend on the reader. Highly recommended!

5, I don't think my heart can take much more but I need the next one as soon as possible please, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and VIZ Media/VIZ Media LLC for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

I received this e-book ARC of Spy x Family, Vol. 3 by Tatsuya Endo through Net Galley from VIZ Media in exchange for a truthful review.

The manga of the Forger family and their mission, Operation Strix, continues: secret agent dad Loid aka Twilight,
his mind-reading first-grade adopted daughter, Anya, and his assassin wife, Yor aka Thorn Princess.
Yor's secret police younger brother, "Uncle" Yuri, makes an appearance as well.
None of them know each other's secret and it amount to a whole lot of fun while they try to forge some real family relationships as their cover!

Yor’s brother Yuri comes to visit after he heard through the grape vine that she’s been married for a year. It turns out, Yuri is part of the secret police, and his number one target is the super spy, Twilight! Loid is back to training Anya to win stella awards through academics, but Anya hates studying. He tries to get her into a community service project at a recovery hospital because that’s another way to earn stellas, but Anya proves to be horrible at that as well. On their way out, she hears a little boy drowning in the physical therapy pool, and saving his life earns her her first Stella! The bonus chapter has Yor trying to hide a gunshot wound in her butt, a souvenir from her latest assassin job, but her pain comes across to Loid as her being unsatisfied with him. He tries to win her over by taking her on a wonderful date, all the while Yor deals with her pain.

This continues to be a very funny series that puts characters in increasingly unlikely situations. What are the odds that the brother of the super-assassin is a super-cop! Anya's facial expressions are probably my favorite thing about the series, especially because she's the only one (aside from the audience) that gets to know the secrets everyone is keeping. I also appreciate that there is some reality in the storyline. Anya tries to win a stella through her P. E. class, but she loses to an adult-sized 6-year-old, rather than having her complete some crazy stunt to make it believable that she could beat him. There is also a satisfying milestone with her first stella awarded after working towards one for two volumes.

VIZ rates this for older teens because of the realistic violence. These moments often come after a moment of humor, and the quick transition might be jarring to younger readers. In volume two, there is also alcohol and smoking.

Ever since I read an ARC/galley of the first book, I've made sure to stay on the up-and-up with purchasing this series.

I adore the characters of this insane 'family', and I'm always excited to read what weirdness they run into next.

Another humorous adventure with a very close call, defeated villains, and Anya's misunderstanding leading to trouble.

In the latest volume of the series Loid and Yor get an unexpected visit that is sure to cause more trouble in their future. The romance is starting to become real as the two realize they may actually have feelings for each other. All while Anya tries to make Loid proud and save the world by getting her "Stella Star".

The action and humor carry the plot through and is sure to engage readers in the story. The cast of characters grew a little in this volume with further character development for previously introduced characters. The story focused less on Anya this volume which was a nice break from her typical mishaps. The bonus story in this volume was very funny and perfectly introduced this unlikely family. The illustrations capture the action and Anya's misinterpretations well. The details add to the humor and add a light note to gruesome scenes.

A great read for action and humor with an easy plot.

Spy x Family continues to be a delightful take on the espionage caper, especially when the focus is on Anya. Although this volume starts off a little weak with Yor's brother Yuri paying a visit to the Forger home - it relies a lot more heavily on familiar manga tropes of the too-loving brother - things pick up when Anya's attempts to get a meritorious star at school run up against a school dodgeball game (seriously, why is that game still a thing?) and the fact that at age five or six, Anya makes a terrible volunteer. (She does get her star, though...just...differently.) By the end, when we get a story about Twilight trying to take Yor, who has a butt injury from her last job, on a date, things are back in full form. This volume also features one of the best segues into the next volume so far. Gee, how could Anya asking for a dog go horribly wrong for Twilight...?

Another great installment in a series with great potential. The comedy is consistently funny, silly, and witty, all thanks to a great well-established cast - whether it be Yor's brother drunkenly protecting his sister's happiness or Anya's devotion to the mission despite her many failures in academics, sports, and community service. What the series does so well - especially in this volume - is emphasizing "family" outside of the mission. For instance, Loid gets suspicious of Yor's possible involvement in the mission; counterspy, and maybe aiding in her brother's agency in the SSS. From covert listening devices to even disguises he comes to the realization that he has deeply doubted Yor, enough for him to not only question his motives but also to reconsider his trust in others. This gets foreshadowed when even Anya, the daughter of the two, notices the rift. This is a series that continues to expand further into the world, explore the concept of family, all the while bringing an entertaining and engaging spin on the spy drama. I cannot wait for another volume to come.

I continue to adore this series with every volume. Anya is still a little queen and I love her. It's also interesting to get to know Yor and her family dynamics more. So excited for the next volume!

The Spy Family is back! In Spy x Family Vol 3, Loid worries about Yor’s brother, Yuri. Loid believes that Yuri works for his agency’s “mortal enemy—the State Security Service”. In the meantime, Yor is falling hard for Loid and trying to be a “good wife”. And, of course, the family’s main mission of bringing down Donovan Desmond, the chairman of the National Unity Party, continues.

I love this manga! With six full missions and one even larger extra mission, there is plenty to love. Thanks to the brief introduction, readers new to the series can begin reading here. Spy x Family Vol 3 is a great manga about family relationships set in a world of spies and assassins. Plus it has its humorous side. 5 stars once again to the Spy Family!

Thanks to Viz Media and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Hello Gemmies! I have a entertaining new manga review to share with you today. Please note: I received a digital ARC of this book (via NetGalley) from its publisher in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Spy X Family Vol 3 by Tatsuya Endo is the third magna in the Spy X Family Series. This series just keeps getting better and better. with each new installment. I love it so much! I never knew I needed to know what would happen if you created a family with an assassin mom, a world class spy dad, and a psychic child. But now I know and I can't stop thinking about them! Like Volumes 1 and 2, Spy X Family Vol 3 is pure joy from start to finish. I devoured it in one sitting! Things kick off right after the events in Vol 2. This time we meet Yuri, Yor's brother and let me just say, it is hysterical. He's an overprotective brother who is really secret police and cannot come to terms that his sister is married. Anya aka the psychic child is starting to branch out and use her abilities, and I am 100% here for it! Anya as a baby assassin is everything!

The entire storyline is unique and I love the contrast and dynamic between the family members. Each characters interaction with each other is wonderful. It's innocent, competitive, thrilling, and just darn right funny at times. What makes Spy X Family Vol 3 so great is the fantastic way Tatsuya Endo seamlessly balances action, espionage, personal turmoil, and heartwarming family moments. The breaking up of storylines into "missions" is brilliant. It also allows for the introduction of new elements that add to the complexity of the overall story. With each new volume we are introduced to a new character. This time it is Yor's brother Yuri. I cannot wait for Vol 4 where it looks like we will get a weapons enhanced pet!!

The artwork in Spy X Family Vol 4 is very appealing. I feel the style is well suited to the story and very clean and crisp. This was a nice departure from everything else I am currently reading and wholly unique. I will definitely continue on with the series. Published by VIZ Media, Spy X Family Vol 3 will release on December 1, 2020 and is available for pre-order from all major booksellers. I give Spy X Family Vol 3 5 out of 5 gems. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in this great series. Happy Reading!

Spy x Family is just the absolute best. I fully believe that it will get an anime adaptation at some point in the future and will blow up to be one of the most popular series from Shonen Jump (though it's a Jump+ title). All the characters are amazing (and we've finally met Bond, albeit only for like 2 pages) and the art is fantastic. I can not sing this series' praises enough!

I'm totally hooked on this manga series. I can't say I'm an expert on manga but I know what entertains me and this is funny, clever and dynamic. With quality artwork, interesting characters, original storylines and nothing offensive, I feel confident buying it for our secondary school library.

I received this arc from netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is still good fun, but the insane brother storyline didn't work very well. (Way over the top.). The little girl is the best character and she doesn't even show up, really, until the second half of the book, (and then she also shines in the bonus mission at the end). I'm enjoying this but it seems to be spinning it wheels a little.
