Find My Child by Wendy Dranfield is the first of what I hope will be many more books in a new series. The series features a former police officer, Madison, who was framed for a crime she did not commit and is now out of prison on parole. Nate is a former priest student who was convicted of a crime he did not commit and was exonerated within a year of his death date.
Nate has become a private investigator of sorts and Madison contacts him asking for his help clearing her name and finding the son she left when she was sent to prison. Nate does not like or trust police officers and all Madison can think about is clearing her name and finding her son.
When Nate is contacted about a girl gone missing from summer camp he only takes the case because he begins to feel for the girls Grandmother who won't take no for an answer when she wants to hire him. Nate and Madison agree to check into things before heading to investigate Madison's case. The twists and turns will keep you reading long past your bedtime and I am really looking forward to another book about this pair.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this for a fair review.

This is the first book in the Detective Madison Harper Series. Enjoyed it once it got going. Very easy read that the pages just kept turning which is strange considering the pace was bit slow for my liking. Considering the nature of the storyline it needed the faster pace and with a little more going on. It lacked the rollercoaster/suspense factor. Loved Madison and Nate as characters and also love them as a duo. There is a lot of reference to there own personal stories which I thought there would have been more about but it does make me excited for the next instalment in the series. The last 1/4 of the book was where it really got going and I didn’t see a lot of it coming and it was really enjoyable but just a pity the first 3/4’s were dragged out a bit to much and took so long to get there. I would recommend this one and will definitely be waiting patiently for the next one.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this ARC thats due to be published on the 25th of Jan.

It's been a long time since I read a book set in the US, but the blurb of this book and the beautiful cover enticed me enough to give it a go. I'm now glad I did so as I really enjoyed this book.

Madison Harper is an ex-detective just released from prison. She had been framed by someone for a murder she didn't commit. Now that she's out with no place to live and no money she wants to find out who did this to her and she wants to clear her name. Someone stole six years of her life and has taken her son away from her. In order to do this she approaches a private investigator, Nate Monroe, to help her in her quest. Like Madison, Nate is a damaged soul, an ex-convict who has spent seventeen years on death-row for the murder of his fiancee. But Nate is innocent, he was framed too for this murder but was eventually released after new evidence proved his innocence. He knows who's behind this and is determined to find the person responsible for destroying his once-happy life. So both Madison and Nate are on a mission.

At first Nate is reluctant to help Madison. He doesn't like bent-cops. But then hearing and believing her story, he agrees to take her on as his employee. She will help him with his investigations and at the same time he would look into her case.

Their first case together is that of a missing nine-year-old girl who has disappeared while on Summer camp in a remote area of Northern California. There are a couple of suspicious individuals at the camp, but with no evidence and no body it will be very difficult for Nate and Madison to find any clues. The local police does not appreciate their interference and is reluctant to help. It's as though they too have something to hide. One thing is sure, something fishy is going on at the mysterious camp. What happened to Jenny? Is she lost? Did she drown in the lake? Or has she been kidnapped? Is she still alive or buried in the surrounding woods? Will Nate and Madison find the truth?

Well this book brought together two very interesting characters, each dragging a heavy baggage behind. Both Nate and Madison have suffered enormously at the hands of unscrupulous individuals who have ruined their lives. I loved these characters and their determination to seek the truth. In this book we don't have just one main character as we usually have in crime stories but two. Even though Madison is mentioned on the cover, Nate carries equal weight in the plot.

It felt as though this was not just one book, but three in one. We have the main missing person story, and then both Nate's and Madison's back stories. The author sometimes switches from the main plot to either Nate's past in prison or Madison's earlier life. We also have some chapters from the pov of a psychologist. I couldn't understand this character's significance, but then towards the end everything made sense.

The plot is well-written, entertaining, fast-paced and at times tense. We have a number of unexpected twists and turns and red herrings that keep the reader on their toes. I found myself desperately wanting to find out what happened to Jenny. The author leaves us clueless till the unexpected ending. The book ends with a massive cliffhanger, making the reader want to go straight to book 2 - Cry for Help, which is exactly what I've done.

I enjoyed reading this book and have no qualms in recommending it. With thanks to Bookouture for an ARC copy of 'Find My Child' through Netgalley.

An interesting and unusual mystery. Both main characters are ex cons wrongly accused who hope to help each other while trying to solve the mystery of a girl who went missing from summer camp. Lots of suspects, twists and surprises.

Book one in a new series. I loved the characters in this book. The two main characters are flawed in so many ways. Both Madison and Nate are ex cons and are looking for the people who framed them. Meanwhile there is a missing child at a camp. They team up together to find out what happened to Jenny. The camp workers, the cop on the case and the family of the missing girl are all a bit sketchy. Will Nate ever find the man who framed him for killing his fiance? Will Madison ever find out what happened to her son after she was sent to prison? I cannot wait to read the next book in the series to find out. I loved this book and want to read more by this author.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the wonderful read.

4.5 This is a very very good mystery. RIght away I got involved with the story, multiple mysteries going on, some solved by the end of the book, some left to solve. Main characters both who had been framed for crimes and were wanting justice and resolution. Looking forward to reading more of her books, a new author for me

I rather enjoyed this book, and I really look forward to the next one in the series. The author held back just enough to keep me turning the pages and that ending was quite the surprise!

Thank You Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC! This review is based on my honest opinion.

This book is the first series of Detective Madison Harper's series. The story begins with Nate Monroe, who was released from the death row after proving his innocence for the murder of his fiancée, Stacey is working as a PI. He then pairs up with Madison Harper, who was a former detective and who was also released from the prison for serving up a crime she didn't commit and sets off to find a twelve year old girl named Jenny, who had been missing from the summer camp. They were hired by the girl's grandmother, Esme although both parents seemed to be reluctant for Nate and Madison to investigate the case due to some reasons...

This was really good!!! Quiet unputdownable, fast paced thriller with so much twists and turns that you wouldn't expect! I couldn't even put this book down and I was reading it till the end! The writing was really good and the author did a good job drawing the reader into the story. As a reader, you would feel sorry for Madison and Nate for the injustices they have faced and their determination to clear their names. I really enjoyed reading this book and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the second part of the series!!!!

Completely unputdownable, fast paced thriller that will keep you awake at all night reading and wanting more--worth five stars!

This book started promising but soon left me cold when I realised it was going to turn into a Jack Reacher type series. Wronged people drifting around American cities solving crimes whilst not managing to solve their own
The characters are hard to engage with, a drug taking ex trainee priest, and a lesbian cop who likes men and has a missing child.
The story of the crime in this book, a missing child who was last seen at a summer camp, is predictable and easy to see the plot twist before they arrive.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I'm not real sure how I feel about the book as parts of it drew me in but other parts I really struggled with. Also I didn't care for the fact that I have to read to the next book in the series to learn what happens to some of the characters. It sort of leaves you hanging.

Nate has just gotten out of prison (death row) for a murder he didn't commit. Madison also has just gotten out of prison with a reduced sentence. Nate is doing private detective work trying to help solve crimes and free innocent people much like himself. Madison hears about his work and locates him in person. She basically begs him for a job helping to solve crimes as a private investigator with him. Before Madison went to prison for manslaughter, she was a detective.

Jenny is a young girl who disappeared from a summer camp. Her grandmother contacts Nate to locate her. At the time, she contacts Nate, Jenny has been missing for two weeks. Nate & Madison visit Jenny's parents to learn more about them along with learning about her grandmother. They also visit the camp to learn more about Jenny's actions and movements before she disappeared. As they get to know the surroundings and people associated with Jenny, it is apparent things are not as they first appear.

Thanks to the publisher, Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Just did not feel connected to any of the characters. Nate and Madison carried a lot of baggage and although we knew Nate’s story, Madison ‘s was sketchy. The summer camp was bizarre with the unsavoury staff. I am pretty sure anyone working with children has criminal checks. A staff bar!!! at a summer camp for youngsters that was over the top. The parents of Jenny were not forthcoming in her disappearance. I know if my child was missing all pertinent information would be on the table. The chapters with the readings from the therapist were intriguing. Lots of action as the book came to an end but this book was not believable on some levels with me, especially the portrayal of the summer camp and the local detective who withheld information concerning a missing child.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this amazing novel

my first book by this author and it wont be the last...

two ex cons from different sides of life, one an ex priest or trainee priest and an ex cop..both found themselves in jail for crimes that they didnt commit....

after time spent in jail..one of them deathrow... they find themselves working together and their first case is a missing girl from a summer camp

the backstory on the pair of them is very interesting but so is the main story....there is also another subplot going on which when you get near the end all adds to the storyline...no spoiler so you are just gonna have to read it yourself

but will be keeping an eye out for more of this authors work...she writes a very good plotline that grabs you and keeps you hooked right to the end...glad i have the second book in this series...

I came across Wendy Dranfield via Twitter; we share a love of cats which leads to regular photo tweets!
This is the first in a new series, focusing on the cases of Detective Madison Harper. Madison’s home was in Colorado, but after being framed for a crime and serving time in prison, she’s looking for answers. This search leads her to PI Nate Monroe. Nate has recently started rebuilding his life after spending more than a decade on death row. His name has been cleared but his nemesis, the real murderer, is still at large and taunting him.
Reluctantly, Nate agrees to hire Madison on an informal arrangement; if she helps him with his current case, he’ll help her investigate her wrongful arrest and incarceration.
This story centres around a child who has gone missing from a Summer Camp in Northern California. As Nate and Madison bounce around theories of what happened to the little girl, nothing can prepare them for the shocking truth.
Although this book is billed as being the first of the Madison Harper stories, I’m hopeful that Nate Monroe will figure in this series. They have an abrasive chemistry that works well. His distrust of the police is fuelled by the fact that Madison is a disgraced cop. He has his own way of handling things and Madison’s obsession with doing things ‘by the book’ is at odds with his way of working.
This partnership works well, and I thoroughly enjoyed following the case and seeing if I could guess what had happened. There are a few red herrings, which I would expect, but they add a rich layer to the story.
The conclusion is gripping and left me eager to see what happens in the next book!
I love finding new, to me, authors and Wendy Dranfield has already found a comfortable spot alongside other favourites, her follow up to this book, A Cry for Help, is next on my TBR pile.

Loved, loved, loved this. I love a good series and often get as much, if not more, out of the subplots as the main plots and boy does this new series have brilliant subplots. Meet Madison and Nate, two ex cons who have both been released from prison, one from death row after being exonerated, the other an early realise on their sentence, both innocent of their crimes. A brilliant back story to start a new series with. The main story revolves around the investigation into a missing child and so begins a great plot that twists and turns to a totally unexpected finale. Nate and Madison work out who they can trust, indeed if they can even trust one another when trust is the one thing that’s been lacking in both their lives for years . Really looking forward to seeing how this story develops over the series. Oh and let’s not forget Brody, the gentle giant of the K9 world.

Brilliant book! I was hooked from the very first page.

Nate and Maddison are intriguing characters with fascinating back stories. I can't wait to read more about them.

The plot was fast, full of twists and kept me guessing til the very end.

I enjoyed this book so much I ordered the second one before I'd even finished this!

Find my child is an action packed crime investigating novel. Its main characters Madison and Nate are the Private investigators here. Both have something in common in that they both were framed for crimes they didn’t commit and sent to prison.

They both come across a case of a twelve-year-old girl gone missing and they investigate the case. I REALLY LOVED IT, I think it’s well written. From page one I was absorbed into the book, and it gripped me all the way through.
This is the first time I have read anything by this author, and clearly it won’t be the last. Eagerly waiting to read the next part in this series.

Intriguing mystery thriller

Madison is now out of prison, having done her time for a framed charge of manslaughter. Nate is a free man having had his murder charge overturned. They team up as Private Investigators, and look into the case of a girl gone missing from a summer camp.
Lots of twists and turns in this mystery thriller. Nate and Madison have their own secrets from each other, and the family with the missing child appear to have a lot to hide. Can Nate and Madison find out what happened to the girl, or will the police solve it?
This is a great thriller with the emphasis (to my mind) more on the characters than the missing child. Within the first few chapters I was totally involved with Nate and Madison, and even more so as their histories, and needs to right wrongs done to them, became clear. At the same time the mystery of the missing girl adds plenty of suspense, making this an intriguing and involving story with plenty of twists and turns.
4*s from me as I enjoyed the characters, and found this a great read. With an easy to follow plot this thriller was involving and entertaining. I absolutely raced through the final third to find out what happened to the missing girl. This is the first book in a series – which is just as well as I’m really keen to know more about Nate and Madison!

The problem with reading a book before its publication date is that there is longer to wait for the next book in the series! This book was excellent. It was new and refreshing and not your typical crime/mystery novel. I look forward to reading the other books in the series once they are written!

What a thrilling, can’t put down new series to delve into!
So many lies and secrets going on!
I can’t say enough good things about Find My Child by Wendy Dranfield. There is so much going on, you don’t have time to stop reading. I read late into to the night because I just had to know what the ending was going to be. And, what a ending it is!
The main characters, Nate and Madison, make a complicated, intriguing pair. Both are very likeable and endearing in their own way. Their backstories are heartbreaking to read about.
If you are a fan of police procedurals, you definitely will like this book.
Loved the appearance of Brody...
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! And, get more books written by Wendy Dranfield.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and author,Wendy Dranfield, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
