I really enjoyed this. I have a hardcopy of one of these books the I purchased years ago and I really enjoyed being able to listen to the rest of the series on audiobook. They are very encouraging for any artist or creative.

I received a copy of this audiobook from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I experienced multiple technical issues with the audiobook, where several chapters were unplayable. I was sent another copy, but there were still several unplayable chapters. I reported this and was told to wait for further instructions, but never heard back. Therefore, I was unable to listen to Chapter 2 in Steal Like An Artist, and everything from Chapter 5 onwards in Keep Going. Therefore, this review is based on an incomplete reading of the trilogy.

Overall, I really enjoyed this compilation of the three books. I think they did a great job of transforming what are very visual books into an audio version. The author offers some great, practical advice to many relatable struggles in creativity. I thought the author made interesting points about the metrics of creativity, and I appreciated the balanced approach to advocating getting offline, alongside acknowledging the benefits of using online methods to share your work.

I didn't like the little inserts of Christianity in the book, including a quote from the pastor of a megachurch. As a non-Christian, I felt that this alienated me from the core message of the section, and I don't feel that the religious elements added value to the book itself.

In summary, I think this trilogy is definitely worth a listen. I'm disappointed about the technical issues, but I got to listen to most of the chapters, so I feel confident recommending this audiobook.

This is the kind of book you back to over and over again. What's interesting is his points are ground-breaking necessarily. (I mean, he is advocating "stealing like an artist" so I think it's obvious he is aware of this fact!!) But the WAY that he communicates them is flat out eye opening and inspiring. It's the kind of book that sets the book for pure creativity. Like, if I had time, I would read parts of this before every writing session!

I read the original book many years ago. It isa classic. This edition was updated with new quotes that will appeal to a younger generation. Full of savvy information and good humored but valuable advice, this is a book all aspiring creatives should view. To be honest, I enjoyed the second book, Show Your Work, the best of the three. It is encouraging and motivating.
The third book, Keep Going, also contained encouraging bits of wisdom.
As much as I appreciated the audio version, (and I played it 1.25 speed) I think I like the print version best.

Wow! These books are a must-read, especially if you're creative. I've heard about them for a while, but didn't prioritize them on my reading list. I wish I had. The books provide straightforward helpful tips on how to get and maintain inspiration and so much more! His tips validated what I've already been doing to advance my creative career, but there were lots of new useful tips I can add to my workflow.

Austin Kleon does an excellent job narrating his bestselling books, and I enjoyed listening to his audiobook while painting, cleaning and cooking! He has a pleasant and clear voice and paces himself well. I listened at least five times and plan to listen a couple more times for making notes.

I've never seen any of his hardcopy books, but I can say that I really like his audiobook.
Some of what he says are valuable reminders to me, and others never even occurred to me and are really helpful. These are great books for the artist, either one with a day job or one who has a full time job being an artist.

I like that he includes a lot of anecdotes, his own and other artist's experiences, and quotations to support his points. Anyone who creates will benefit from the practical and career tips and tricks, and philosophical thoughts that are potentially life changing.

Thanks to Libro.fm, Netgalley and Workman Audio for the ALC of this audiobook trilogy.

I have always been a fan of Kleon’s creative work, though I only read the first of these three in print. I love that all three have been collected into an audiobook, though, because it’s such a cool experience to listen to the result of something so visual as an audio medium.

Kleon is up front from the beginning. This audio adventure is way different than taking on these works in print, and that’s super cool. You can get almost an entirely different experience depending on the medium you choose, which makes these books highly re-readable and listenable as you can get different things out of each book and each audiobook.

As a creative, sometimes it’s great to just sit down and get advice from another artist. Its super easy to get too much inside of your head, to be so wrapped up in your own thing, you kind of forget to think outside the box and try different approaches to what you do, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Kleon’s “advice to his younger self,” as he puts it. It was a lovely day listening to these, and I love it when nonfiction is read by the author.

This collection is out now, so keep an eye out for it in your favorite listening app or request it through your local library’s Libby/Overdrive.

I can only play the first chapter. Is this supposed to be just a preview? The file lists more chapters but tapping any of them results in nothing. So I guess 3/5 since I can't actually review the books. If this is simply an issue with the files, I'd be happy to update my review.

I have read the first book in this trilogy, Steal Like an Artist, in April this year (feels like a decade ago) - and really loved it. But as it goes with self-help writers, later books aren't always as good, so I was worried I wouldn't like Show Your Work and Keep Worrying. Luckily, I was wrong! I found all three books by Austin Kleon inspiring, fun, original and binge-worthy as I listened to each one in a sitting.

I'm pleased to say that the narration is excellent, which made my experience enjoyable and easy to digest. It's great on its own, but I think it would probably be a lot better if I had read a physical copy simultaneously. That's because in their written form, Austin Kleon's books are very artsy and coffee-table-perfect, which is why they are such bestsellers. While I benefitted from the narration alone, I do think there's something missing without the illustrations.

*Thank you to the Publisher for a free advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If I had known this was only a preview, I would not have requested it. I just don't have the time to mess around with audio previews.

Narrator was good and what I heard so far was interesting.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC audiobook. I was not compensated for this honest review and all opinions are my own.

Review of excerpt as only a short preview was available. Looking forward to reading the full collection.

I have the same loading issue. The audiobook won't load anything after chapter 1. Not sure if this was just an excerpt or the full thing.

For some reason, I kept having issues with the audiobook. I enjoyed it so far, but couldn't listen after the first chapter because the audio book just wouldn't work. Looking forward to listening to the rest of Audible when it's out!
