3 stars This took me a while to review mostly because I wanted to put my mind in order. I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet second chance romance. I think the characters were well written and I liked their journey that they went on together. This was a highly emotional read that makes you think about your own life. What disappointed me from this book was towards the end. I didn't got the conclusion I wanted or how I wanted to so it took away the enjoyment I had. Overall i had a very good experience reading this. Beware this is a series so it'll be better if it's read in order. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. |
Wow. This book was so good. I loved the characters and how they reunite after life happened and lead them to different roads. While I read this I was heartbroken for each of the characters and what they had to go through and overcome to reunite. It felt so very real. Loved it. |
Gah!!! I love Jasmin and I love this series so much!! Such a well written book with brilliant characters; Jasmin is one of those authors I wish more people knew about. |
Due to illness this review will be short and sweet. Jasmin Miller has been an author I've been reading for a few years and her books never fail me. Second Dive is no different. I did like how the main characters felt more mature than a few of her other books have in the past. The pair had enough chemistry and heat to never let me get bored. I don't normally read sports romances. This one reminded me that I need to expand my usual take into other categories. Note: you should read other books in the series first due to spoilers. I will always recommend Jasmins books. ARC generously provided by Netgalley and |
Second Dive is, as the title hints, a second chance sports romance. It is the third installment of the Kings of the Water series, but can be read as a standalone. Our main characters are Chloe, a children’s book illustrator, and Noah, an Olympic swimmer. The two were high school sweethearts, destined to be together forever, until Chloe unexpectedly breaks it off while on vacation. Now, ten years later, Chloe is back in town and seeking to make amends. I really enjoyed this book. I think the characters were well written and I liked the journey that they went on together. It was an emotional read that really makes you think about taking advantage of any second chances that you are given in life. My only issue with the book comes from the 'twists,' the secrets that Chloe was keeping and the reasons that she left so abruptly in the first place. Every time things seemed to be out in the open, we discover that she has one more secret that she's been keeping that she doesn't want to tell Noah about and we go through the same process of him discovering and her having to explain things 'before she is ready.' Overall, it was still enjoyable and I don't regret reading it. |

Great book. Story was good kept my attention most of the time. Definitely would recommend this book. |
A book about a second chance at romance, but it does not open that way. First Noah Winters is an Olympic Champion winner of a gold medal in swimming. After a not so good work out his coach tells him to take time off from swimming and decide if he still wants to train and compete at this level? He is also set up with giving his time to a local hospital that his sister works at. Chole Miller has moved back home after being gone for ten years. She has been hoping she does not run into Noah who she had to break up with suddenly, never telling him why. She is an artist and has agreed to paint a mural on a wall at a local hospital. Deciding the theme and beginning the outline when Noah walks in and the whole room changes between the two of them. Here is when the story really takes off between the two of them, both wanting to be with each other but still having to deal with what happened in the past. Though they want to have a future they each have to deal with the past. The author does a good job in taking you through their time together and working through their past, but will they have a future once he finds out why she left? Read this very good story with a very good ending as well, very much worth the read. |
This is a really solid second chance romance full of hope, anger, letting go of what once was and accepting what could be... The characters are great, love when one can admit to their flaws and mistakes and try to make amends, his behavior and reactions is understandable, and it deserves a five star but after taking some heart wrenching hard hitting subjects tackled in other books, this one fell just a tad under so I went with four stars. Still wonderful. Thank you net galley for the review copy |

Chloe Williams has finally moved home after leaving a decade earlier without so much as a goodbye. Sure she had her reasons, but couldn’t tell anyone, least of all her boyfriend Noah Winters. Noah was well on his way to becoming not only one of the best swimmer in the country, but the world, and Chloe wanted nothing but success for him. When Chloe buys him in a blind date auction, she realizes it’s her chance to set things right after so long, only Noah doesn’t want to hear it. These two find themselves thrown together, and forced to deal with more than either of them bargained for. You guy I love the Kings of the Water series from @jasminmiller and Second Dive was a perfect third book to add to the previous two. This book pulled at so many of my heart strings! I don’t normally read second chance books, and I don’t know why! This one was just so good! I loved watching Noah struggle with his feelings despite wanting Chloe more than ever. And even though Chloe left for what she though was a good reason, seeing her realize the missed opportunities and grow from it was great! And chemistry between these two was 🔥 I also loved getting to see favorite characters from the first two books. So if you’re looking for a sports romance this weekend, tbr Second Dive! Thank you to @jasminmiller, @givemebookspr and @netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. |
Chloe returns to her hometown ten years after she left. Ten years after breaking up with the love of her life by text. All she wants is to apologize to him and get on with her life. But events keep throwing them together. First at a bachelor's charity auction, then a hospital volunteer project. At a time when Noah's Olympic swimming career seems to be falling apart, now his mind is conflicted by the emotions Chloe still causes for him. There was a reason they couldn't be together then and why she must keep her distance from him now...and she dreads telling him the truth. This was a sweet second chance romance that took a depressing turn at the end. I suffer from a medical complication that causes infertility, so the emotions in this book were a little too close to home for me and just made me depressed. I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The views and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own. |
This book is right up my alley. It’s a second chance romance with two high-school lovers, Chloe and Noah. They get to reconnect again after 10 years. It had everything I adore: the angst, the swoony moments, getting to know each other well again after being apart. I especially loved Chloe as a female lead. I love her strength. She went through so much the past 10 years until now, but her current outlook on life is truly admirable. I don’t doubt her condition makes it more difficult for her, but she’s still powering through and living life well. This is the first book I’ve read in this series (I’ve been recommended this series a few times but the second chance romance trope just pulled me in) but I love the dynamic with the other guys. I’m sure I would have appreciated it more if I had read the others before this, but now I’m definitely going to. Definitely enjoyed this second chance romance from Jasmin Miller! |
Second Dive was the first book I’ve read of this series. I wasn’t expecting such heavy topics in a romance, but it brought through a lot more emotion into the story. I gave it 4 stars and would read the rest of The Kings of the Water series. |
A cute read that goes by quickly. It's a well written second chance love story that is sweet and may even make you tear up. Personally, I felt it lacked a little depth as there was so much unanswered when I finished and I never felt like I really knew the characters. But it is a good escape read that doesn't require a lot of investment :) |
This is one of those books where you alternating between wanting to hug the author and wanting to punch them. This was an emotional rollercoaster of a read, with just a touch of humor. I was unprepared for the depth of characters that this book would present. Chloe and Noah were beautifully written and will stay with me for awhile. Having not read the other two books in the series (don't worry, I'll remedy that, I promise!) I had no idea what I was in for. This book had me laughing and crying often, sometimes on the same page. I couldn't put it down, and finished it in one night. Jasmin Miller is now an author I need to add to my Kindle reading list. |

Second Dive is the third book in the Kings of Water series and it's the first Jasmin Miller book I've read. It was a quick, easy second chance romance. I liked it well enough but it lacked depth, drama and passion. I wanted more. Nothing really went on apart from the romance apart from a half-hearted storyline about Noah's career. I would have like the novel to be more fleshed out. Even after I finished Second Dive, I didn't really feel like I knew who Chloe was. I also felt as if the end of the novel was slightly rushed. Overall, it was a good read but not very memorable. Saying that I would continue with the series with Hope's of reading more about Hunter and Noah's sister. |
What a wonderful second chance romance! When I got the ARC for this book I decided to start the series from the beginning and I haven't been able to put these books down! Jasmin Miller has become a new favorite author. Noah and Chloe were in love, but she broke it off suddenly via text message. Now, 10 years later, they are back in each other's lives and maybe they can make it work this time around. Their story was sweet, a little sad, and a lot hopeful. I loved seeing them work through their past as secrets and reasons for their original break up came to light. They certainly didn't always handle things perfectly, but it was easy to see that they never stopped loving each other. This story can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series! |
If I'm being honest... I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. I didn't really know what to expect, as I have never read something by this author before and never heard of this series before. Despite not having read the first two books in the series, I had no problem getting into the story. The author's writing style is very engaging and I found myself forgetting the world around me when I was reading the book. After meeting Chloe and Noah I couldn't help but like them and over the course of the story, I quickly started loving them. I really got the impression that they were fleshed out, and considering it's a second chance romance, you could tell that they had a past together and you got glimpses of their past throughout the story. From the moment on Chloe and Noah reconnected, you could feel the chemistry between them and I found myself rooting for them to get together and work through all their problems/secrets from the past. While it was an absolute joy to read about Chloe and Noah, it was also a bittersweet and emotional read. I truly felt for the characters and I might've had some tears in my eyes at certain points in the story. This book truly gave me all the feels, especially towards the ending. I never really read second chance romances, but I'm glad that I gave this one a chance. It's one of my favourite books of the year and I will certainly pick up the other two books of the series and the author's other books. |
Wow, I blew this book in practically once sitting! From page one I was hooked by the main characters, Noah and Chloe. The angst and tension just oozed of the pages and I felt like I was transported into the pages right along with the characters. I liked that the author did not drag on the secrets until the very end but let us know bit by bit during the book. My only complaint was that for a sports romance, there was not very much sports in it. The romance, heat and tension were perfection though. This is the first book I have read from Jasmin Miller but I will definitely be reading the first two books in this series!. |
Wellllllll this book rocked me in a way I wasn't expecting. Second chance with some sports? Jilted hero? A decade of secrets? Yeah sure sign me up. I love all of those things. What I didn't expect was to be crying on my couch emotionally gutted while these two characters somehow found their way back to each other after a decade of heartbreak and unresolved tension. Literally full on ugly crying. I just... I can't fully review this book without spoilers, so I'm going to keep my mouth shut. But what I will say, is that Noah is enrapturing and one heck of a hero, and Chloe was just inspiring and funny and I just wanted to hold her and protect her from the world. These two people were completely unexpected but I really loved every minute of it. This definitely won't be my last book by Jasmin Miller. |

This book is my first by this author and let me tell you, I'm impressed. This story was amazing, Noah and Chloe's story is heart wrenching and bittersweet. I'm glad I took a chance on this author and hopefully will check out more by her. I'll just say that this is a must read for sure! |
