Loved loved loved the sampler for A River of Royal Blood! The story line had me captivated from the first few paragraphs I read. I already like Princess Evalina, but I look forward to learning more about Faun. And I am eager to know more about Queen Lilith and the Princess and soon to be Queen Isadore, they seem evil and I like it. First time reading Amanda Joy and I really like her writing, it is so smooth and seemless, and her word choice is right up my alley. Can’t wait to read the rest of this book.

I loved this sampler! I own a copy of this book already and I'm so excited to keep reading. For such a short excerpt, I felt like I really got a feel for the intricate world building and that's one of my favorite aspects of fantasy writing. I also really like that it's written in first person narration. I can't wait to keep reading.

(This review is for the chapter sampler of A River of Royal Blood.)
A teaser of what's to come, this is an engrossing start to a magical book! The power and rivalry promise an entertaining story, while Eva's journey is sure to be deadly. Bonus point for setting it in a North African-inspired fantasy world! While fantasy isn't my favorite genre, I'd be interested to see how the family drama plays out.

A River of Royal Blood is relatable to anyone who has ever felt they lived in the shadow of a sibling. Isa's the strong well-liked sociable older sister. Eva is treated like a disappointment. Eva barks on a journey to find her magic and discover who she is a long the way in order to have a chance at surviving the impending battle to the death with her sister. A River of Royal Blood is exciting and inspiring, it is a must read for those who have ever felt like an outsider.
