this was a really good mystery novel, the characters were great and I enjoyed the plot of the book. I was drawn in by the cover and enjoyed going through this story.

This started very slowly ad it's taken me a long time to get back to it. I'm glad I did though as things picked up after about 40%. That first 40% was essentially a dialogue between the two main characters, Detective Munoz and retired FBI Agent Walker, talking through details of a cold case - bones of a young woman found during demolition of a garage. Interviews with people working in the hospital (of garage demolition) and with the original construction family start the two asking more and more questions. Here it became clear that several of these people were trying hard to cover up the past. This is where it livened up into past events linking through to present ones and the story ended as a well-written detective tale. Thanks to NetGalley and the author for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

A cold case starts when a bone is discovered during excavation of a carpark. The long slow progress of identifying the skeleton from DNA samples reveals the victim. During the investigation another murder takes place and it looks like they are connected. An outstanding read highly recommended.

I hope that I am able to give you at least a partial review. (I requested this book three days before it was going to archive). At first Detective Dave Munoz thinks that the case he is handed is 15 years old - later finding it is 35 years old! This makes for DNA recovery to be almost non-existent...
A woman had been either pushed off a concrete garage (in progress) to her death or was already dead when she fell. A nametag is found by the forensics team along with bones and white cloth.
Detective Munoz is able to get assistance from a retired FBI friend on the case. Then the story really ramps up!
You can bet I will be finishing this read SOON!
Many Thanks to Thomas Hall, Independent Publisher, and NetGalley for a great start to a soon to be completed read!
