The second book of the series literally picks up right where we leave Skye and Braden were left in Follow Me Darkly, with Skye questioning what could Braden have done that is so terrible as to have damaged his ex.

The cryptic warnings about Braden get under Skye’s skin and start putting her relationship and the trust between her and Braden in jeopardy…

As Skye attempts to prove her trust from Braden she follows him further into his BDSM lifestyle until she takes it even too far for Braden!

As all of this is playing out, Skye is constantly fighting an inner battle with herself as to who she is now, is she a fraud, how can she juggle her friends and her relationship? This inner battle comes to ahead when she tries to lose herself and her control to Braden… but is her full control too much or not what he actually wants???

This books reads like a continuation of book one, where Hardt delves deeper into Skye’s insecurities and inner struggles with the changes in her life, as well as the deeper infiltration of Braden’s BDSM lifestyle.

I found that this books focus on control grated on me, making me dislike both characters at times. I’m not sure how these two can come to a happily ever after where both of them are satisfied. Braden wants complete control of all aspects of his life, where even a surprise nice gesture from his girlfriends puts him off centre, I can’t see him easing up enough to give Skye the share of control she needs.

On the other hand, Skye is a mess. She has lost herself and perspective in her relationship. Her new life and career has come to be because of her relationship with billionaire Braden Black, but she resents his control outside of the bedroom and can’t get over that the opportunities she has now are due to his influence. She is distancing herself and the relationship from her friends and her family… is she is not careful, she will lose everything.

While I was entranced by Helen Hardt’s easy writing style that had me that had me not able to put the book down, I was disappointed that I didn’t feel like much was resolved in this book. I started this book fully knowing that it would not resolve itself, but the abrupt ending and the lack of any positive resolutions left me feeling empty. I will be on board for the third instalment, Follow Me Always, since I have invested so much already in Skye and Braden’s relationship. I need closure!

Follow Me Under by Helen Hardt is scheduled to release January 26th, 2021.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing and NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I didn't realize this was the second book in a series going in, oops! That being said, I do feel like I missed out on some pivotal character development... I was able to assume some details myself. Definitely wouldn't recommending jumping into this series midway like I did.

It's dark, it's sexy, it's everything you'd want in an erotic romance, but I felt the storyline was a bit unoriginal, but with a BDSM novel, there's not much room for an original plot...woman isn't confident in herself, man is dominant so woman just has to learn...etc, etc. I was really hoping for something...new and exciting.

While the book's pace and steam between the characters kept me turning pages, overall the story just fell flat.

Thank you Entangled Publishing via NetGalley for the e-arc to read and honestly review.

Braden and Skye are at a crossroads. Their relationship has gotten deeper but it also raises questions of survival. The heat is still there but trust is still an issue. There are still many unanswered questions about Braden’s past. Skye is struggling with her work and her friendships. It will be interesting to see how the resolve their differences.

This series has me engrossed but not always willingly. I'm invested the characters. Skye and Braden are interesting and sometimes unpredictable. I'm very intrigued where their relationship is going. The only downside to me, which will be a bonus to other readers, is the amount of sex. I'd prefer more story development and less description of their encounters. That said, Hardt does a great job describing and all is well written.

I was definitely left hanging and anxious for book three to find out what comes of these two.

I read Follow Me Under as a standalone so I felt like I was walking into the story part way. It wasn't terrible but there were a few gaps. Skye has started a new chapter in her life. She's trying to make her own way and is struggling with maintaining the hold and control she wants in her life. On the otherhand, Braden seems to have finally found what he wants in his life in Skye. They seem to be on the same page in the bedroom but they're otherwise trying to figure each other out outside of those bedroom walls. This book is full of hot and steamy scenes and flows well and is easy to get through but I found myself flipping through some pages when it came to Skye's insecurities in her life and career path. I would read the other two novels in this series just to see if context will make me like Skye any more! Solid 3.5 stars.

I really did try. I read book 1, and it was okay so I was super pumped for book 2 thinking this was where it was going to pick up, the story would really grab ahold of me..... and it didn’t..and I’m sad

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read ❤️

I have been looking forward to this book since I finished the first one. This one totally did not disappoint. I love the dynamics between Skye and Braden, they just fit together perfectly. But as we find out in this one there are some parts of themselves that don't seem to fit as perfectly as we thought. We got to dive into more of their budding relationship and get to know each of them better. I can not wait for the final book, I just have to see what will happen with them and if they will be able to overcome what troubles them both.

So excited for the continuation of this storyline! After enjoying the first book in this series, I was so excited that the story continued for Skye and Braden! Picking up right where the last book left off, the book really focuses on the trust issues between the couple. A constant argument between them is surrounding Braden’s past and it seems that he plays on her insecurities within their relationship involving that. In the midst of that though, we see Braden continue to really open up, although he does go back and forth on that, and really wants to let Skye in and give a relationship a real go. Skye continues to grow her newly found career, but she also has some setbacks with being insecure and worried about her previous employer. Not much went on in this book, it was more of a filler to give us more context with these characters and prepare us for the next book, where hopefully the answers that we need surrounding Braden and Skye’s old boss as well as the insecurities within the relationship will be resolved. Definitely a steamy read, but we get to know the characters better!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

He says he doesnt want to fall in love with anyone. He says he won't get married ever.
She wants his love and his love.
His ex has lied so much about their relationship and what they have done in bedroom. It is steamy.
What will happen next in their relationship. ??

I'm still very much invested in this series, but book 2 fell a bit flat for me. I was hoping for more moving forward with Skye and Braden's relationship.

Trust is everything Braden and he constantly stresses that with Skye, but there's quite a bit he's withholding. And it doesn't sit well with me.

And this definitely played on Skye's insecurities especially when it comes to her former boss, Addison. That woman has rooted deep into Skye's mind and I want nothing more than for Skye to be rid of her. And I Braden will play a huge factor in that, if he's able to break down his walls and completely open with Skye.

Book 2 seemed like a setback for their relationship, but I'm still hopeful for their relationship in the concluding book.

I had a tough time connecting with not only Skye and Braden, but their relationship as well.

The steam factor is quite spicy! Hardt writes it so well and it's darn right addicting.

I can't wait to read the last book especially with the way things ended. There's lots of unknowns and I hope Skye comes out stronger in the end.

Follow Me Under picks up where Follow Me Darkly leaves off. You really need to read the first before the second to know what’s going on. Braden and Skye’s story is sexy and spicy and will leave you begging for Follow Me Always.

I am a little mad that I don't have book 3 right this second! This series is addicting. I devoured this and Follow Me Darkly on a quiet Saturday night when my kids were busy. I am dying to find out what secrets will be revealed in book 3 and can't wait to continue this steamy, page turning series.

The heat and connection between Braden and Skye ramped up so much in Follow Me Under that I am now counting the minutes until May!

Helen Hardt brings the 🔥!
Follow Me Under is the 2nd book in the Follow Me series. You must must read Follow Me Darkly first!
I devoured Follow Me Darkly in one day. I loved Skye and Braden and couldn't wait for book #2. I am happy to admit I am a repeat offender! I inhaled the sequel in one day. Follow Me Under jumps right back into the action I had been so eagerly waiting for. Skye and Braden's relationship is taken to a whole new level of fishnets, and collars and plugs, oh my! 🤭
Although I may have enjoyed the first book just a tad more, Follow Me Under takes you on one helluva steamy, underground ride you wont want to miss. Can't wait to see how everything gets tied up (pun intended) in Follow Me Always!!
3.5 sizzling ⭐️'s

Follow Me Under will be avaialble 1/26/2021!

I received an e-ARC of Follow Me Under in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to Helen Hardt, Entangled Publishing and NetGalleyfor this opportunity.

Follow Me Under by H. Hardt, published by Entangled Publishing LLC, is book two in her Follow Me Serial and is not a stand-alone. I recommend to read the books in order. The story starts out just where the previous book was left off.
Skye and Braden are together and they could be so so happy - live their kink and be merry, but Skye has some trust issues that threaten their blooming relationship.
I started reading and was thrown right into the story, there was no easing in and I liked it.
FMU is an intense read, emotional, scorching, excellent written and contains some pretty graphic details. The story put me through the wringer, gave me ll the feels. A great read, 5 stars.

You must read book 1 to fully grasp the characters and the story happening in book 2.
I read Follow Me Darkly and was eagerly anticipating Follow Me Under.
Follow Me Under picks right where Follow Me Darkly ends. No time has passed. The story does have a quick pace to it. However, there are moments where the story feels unoriginal.
However outside of the quick pace and a very good amount of steam (Author can bring the steam and spice for sure.) This story fell a lot of flat for me.
Skye continues to feel immature and stunted. In book one she seemed naive and hopeful in book two she feels petty and childish in her behaviors. Her response do seem to fall in line with someone constantly seeking approval. She does not have the confidence to truly sell herself as an influencer. Her desire to be “Like” her former boss made her very tepid.
The author knows how to write an alpha hero. But Braden kind of hero rubbed me the wrong way. He pushes for trust but keeps secrets. What little I know of true BDSM relationship openness and communication is imperative. There was zero communication and so many secrets in this relationship none of it fit together. Braden isn’t likeable at all. He has no redeemable qualities. Too demanding, too bossy. I also feel like there was not a big OMG moment in this book and didn’t feel like anything major happened. The story, character development comes off as lukewarm for me. I do however, plan on reading book 3, as I would like some conclusion to the story.

This book was sizzling and I couldn't put it down! Braden and Skye have spark and charisma. Their relationship has sprouted into one filled with passion and erotic love making. Skye has helped Braden move passed hook ups to a relationship he doesn't want to end. Braden has helped Skye realize she is beautiful and worth all the love he showers her with. These characters were easy to relate to and the book read so smooth and quick!

I will say there were one too many similarities to Fifty Shades. I understand this erotica was about bring submissive as was fifty shades which will cause similarities, but there's also the billionaire loves average girl persona. I loved it, don't get me wrong. I just wish the author branched out a bit farther from a story line that's already been done.

Thanks for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. 4 out of 5 stars for me!

Follow Me Under is even sexier and darker than the first book in the series. Helen Hardt's writing is so captivating and sensual which makes this book impossible to put down. Skye and Braden's relationship is so addicting and I absolutely love reading more of their story.

The book picks up right where the story left off. Skye and Braden are in love with each other but she is finding it hard to find out more about him the person rather than his celebrity. Addison Ames, her ex-boss, and Braden's past relationship is still lingering in the back of her mind. Will Braden ever admit what actually happened? If not, will Skye ever be able to let it go?

This book is so good because there is so much unknown and dark about Braden. Yes, he is opening up with Skye but still loves control. Things begin to get a little more complicated when Braden begins to want more control of Skye's life and not just in the bedroom. There are times when I feel like he is too demanding especially when he wants Skye to be honest with him when he isn't as transparent when she asks the same of him. But that is what makes this story and relationship so intriguing.

As the story goes on, I love that Skye is growing on a personal and business level. She is starting to explore and understand more about what pleasure means to her and what she likes and doesn't like in the bedroom. But she is struggling in this book. I felt the tension the entire time like she was about to break at any moment. She too likes control and it seems like the more control she gives up the more she is losing. She is struggling with her confidence, being a good friend, and just being enough. As she is leading this new high-profile life, she has lost who she is.

Braden also grew so much in this book. I don't think he will ever lose his need to dominate or control but he sure began to break down some of his emotional walls. He never thought he could love someone and yet he loves Skye. I think we see just how much he loves her in a couple of beautiful scenes. His love comes through when he sees Skye hurting.

There is a big revelation at the end of this book and I am so eager to see how it all plays out in the third book.

I give Follow Me Under 5 stars. I love reading about Skye and Braden and this book just took their story to a whole new level. I was intrigued by Braden's dark side, blushed at every sexy scene, and captivated by Skye's personal growth along with her struggles. Helen Hardt's writing continues to dazzle with this series. I am anticipating the conclusion to this series.

Helen Hardt knows how to bring the spice! I have to be honest the second book was not as good as the first but that makes sense. Book one we are intorduced to Braden and Skye and learning who they are and how they will fit together. Book two is good and builds upon the drama that unfolds in book one.

In this book we (and Skye) are introduced into more of Braden's life. We meet his family, his NY life, and the butt plug! We also get to see how Skye's new insta fame is impacting her and her friends. It is about self realization for both Skye and Braden that is supposed to bring them together but Skye is soon thrown into a world that shocks but excites her. This new world pulls her in and potentially away from Braden. Very excited for the finale.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Now that I’ve had a few minutes to lay down and digest what the heck I just read, my only thought is: W O W. I am gobsmacked. I absolutely devoured Follow Me Darkly when it came out and fell in love with Skye and Braden. This only made it ten times larger.

Immediately following the events of Follow Me Darkly, Follow Me Under picks up and never slows down. The quick pacing, the character arcs continuing to grow, the prose, the dynamics- all fantastic and flawless. I truly felt like I went on the journey as Skye. Honestly, I wish I did. This was well thought out and incredibly well executed. It added more to the sexy, but took nothing away from the plot. Watching Skye grow and learn has been beautiful and so fun. I love how she’s becoming confident, yet still depends on Braden.

Don’t even get me started on my love for Braden. His walls are slowly coming down and his small gestures truly melt my heart. They only get better and better and I only want one for my own more and more.

Helen absolutely smashed it out of the park with Follow Me Under and now I will wallow in the darkness as I await for Follow Me Always. Fantastic. If you’re looking for a great adult romance series with A LOT of spice, look no further!
