Still one of my favourite series, Lottie and Boyd are finally going to get married.
Except the groom has disappeared in mysterious circumstances.
That’s just the prologue.
What follows is a story of a family torn apart because of a secret a little girl was forced to keep.
I always enjoy a Lottie Parker book and this doesn’t disappoint

I've been going through a reading slump lately, and are now trying to catch up with reviews and reading. This book is one I finished today, and after having read the previous 8 in the series, I can honestly say, the series just gets better. You feel you know Lottie by now, you sympathize with her first husband's death, you are rooting for her and Boyd's wedding and relationship and you applaud her for balancing a home life, a challenging career with her demons from her past.
No words I say will do justice to this book, except, just do it. You know you want to, and while you are busy, read the first books also. You can thank me later.
I am busy with book 10 now, and are grateful to see there is another two after that!

Thanks Ms Gibney for finally breaking my slump.

I love this author and her books, each one bringing more to the lives of Lottie, Boyd and all those around them, family, friends and colleagues alike.

This story was no different, it constantly had me trying to figure everything out and yet again I didn’t until the author let us into the solution.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Wow, this is the 9th book in the Det Lottie Parker series and it still gets better and better…. I have read all the books in order which I feel gives you the full account of the back story with their individual trials and tribulations and what each of the characters have been through to make to them who they are. Lottie are Boyd are finally getting married… but will things go smoothly…ehm! You can’t be in Ragmullen without a murder thrown in…. Lottie and her team are called to investigate when a young woman is found murdered, a glass shard in her throat…. This is only the beginning when two more women are discovered the same way, Lottie has a serial killer on her hands…. This book was fast paced with plenty of red herrings to throw you off the scent, like Patricia Gibney’s other books in the series, I raced through this, could not put it down, I never have any doubt in recommending this series to others and have hooked many already!

I like the crime stories committed in these books but how much trauma can one detective go through without it becoming a bit unrealistic.

This book cant really be read as a standalone, and I would read these books in order. Its got a strong police presence. The plot moved at a very fast pace to keep you on your toes. The only thing for me was the ending was very disappointing.

Wow 😯 this series just gets better and better ! The storylines are extremely gripping and make you want to read the next one as soon as you’ve finished the present one !! The plots are always extremely original and really keep you guessing right to the end. I also like the fact that throughout the series the main characters private life is carried through though it never overtakes the storyline in which some authors of series’s sometimes do

This is one of the best thriller/mystery books I have read this year. I was not familiar with this author when I first requested this novel but the publishers blurb caught me and reeled me right in. I was hooked from the beginning. With a great story that weaves together a very well written and well developed plot that was not like any others that I had read before. I really had to think while reading this one and truly did not expect the ending. WOW!

Silent Voices by Patricia Gibney is her 9th book in the fantastic Detective Lottie Parker series and I have just loved all of these books in this series.
I'm so glad Detective Lottie Parker is getting her life back together now, it's been a touch ride for her - within a few days, she will marry her Police colleague Mark Boyd. who is recovering well from a recent bout with leukemia. All her children get on with him and he gets on with them as well.....Which is brilliant........It all seems like a dream......But, does it last? and how long does it last for?

This new book was a great page turner and I was hooked again within the first few pages.I am so looking forward to Book OMG no.10........

I highly recommend Detective Lottie Parker series, they just get better and better. I love them.

Big Thank you to netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book.

A good suspense story that kept me hooked and I thoroughly enjoyed.
The plot is tightly knitted and full of twists and turns, Lottie an excellent characters.
I want to read the rest of the series and loved this story.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This was a very good and suspenseful read. I do think that I need to start at book one in order to understand more of the backstory. Lottie is a strong character that I would like to read more about.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Finally, Lottie and Boyd are getting married! Or are they? Right before the wedding is about to start Boyd disappears. That's how the story begins and from there on out it's an incredible intense ride. 'til the end I hadn't figured out who the killer was. I had my suspicions, of course, but there were so many twists and turns that it was hard to be sure. And in the end the remaining question was: Is it possible to be born evil?

I can’t believe that this is the ninth book in the series featuring Detective Lottie Parker. We have been through an incredible journey with her as she has struggled with the death of her husband and with bringing up her three children. She is finally marrying her police colleague Mark Boyd but the book opens with him not turning up on the wedding day and then goes back in time as to why. Lottie was called out to investigate the gruesome murder of a young, local woman. Her investigations are leading nowhere when a second body is discovered in similar circumstances. As the body count rises Lottie is struggling to find a link between these two women and when Boyd goes missing she knows she has a race against time to find him. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and this one certainly didn’t disappoint with so many unconnected plots that all come together at the end. A highly recommended series of books.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This author creates some of the most intricate plots I have ever read, and there are always surprises and connections that are unexpected. This latest book (#9!) is no exception. One thing I found particularly entertaining is how Lottie and Boyd’s personal life has progressed. The author does the usual fine job of introducing characters at just the right moments so that everything seems natural and organic. Book nine in the series, and there are no real signs of slowing down. The author continues to keep things interesting. This can be a standalone, but for the full trajectory of Lottie’s story, I’d recommend starting the series at the beginning. You won’t be disappointed. Another solid addition in my favourite DI series.
Each book makes me feel like I'm in the small Irish town.
The narration is perfect if you have the chance to listen to the Audiobook, I would highly recommend.
Looking forward to the next book already.

#SilentVoices #NetGalley I just love this series and this 9th installment in the Detective Lottie Parker series did not disappoint. Capable of being read as a standalone but you would get much more enjoyment understanding the back stories of the main characters of Lottie and Boyd. Well written, easy to read and with lots of action and twists and turns which I love. There is not much more that I can say! Can't wait for book 10! If you love crime thrillers, start at book 1, you will not be disappointed!!

It's Lotties and Boyds wedding day and after a few awful years finally they get a lovely wedding day and they all live happily ever after......is not what happens in this book. It all looks good at first but of course Lottie never gets a her happy ending. And after years of ignoring her kids peril she's now ignoring Boyds instead. And I say all this with affection not as a criticism. Whenever something is going wrong Lottie can be relied on to ignore her gut and plow on. It reminds me of an Irish aunt who been told I had split my head open and needed stitches "ah go on, she'll be fine with a plaster and cuppa now."

The Lottie Parker books are as much about her and her personal life as it is about the crimes themselves. But the crimes are still important. And in this addition to the series Lottie and her team are faced with the murder of two young women. Initially seemingly unconnected but the investigation leads Lottie to investigating a high profile but fractured family. Lottie boss makes it clear she needs to tread carefully....but treading carefully isn't something that comes to Lottie easily....

I do love these books. Lottie isn't a loose cannon exactly. More a box of fireworks with a match thrown in. You never know which way she'll go off. This makes for a very readable series, and I think it's fair to say if you like the sound of this you need to go back to the beginning and read all the books. They could be read as a standalone but for the full Lottie Parker experience it's best to read them all. If you love crime fiction you won't regret it.
