Not much to review here as I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lottie Parker and every book Patricia Gibney rolls out with my fave characters.
I will always recommend this series to everyone. Ms. Gibney did not disappoint with this installment. Lottie & Boyd are literally my favorite couple and I love hearing what's going to happen next with these two.

Thank you to the Author, Publisher & Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love thrillers set in the UK/Ireland. I love a good mystery series. I like reading about a new case, mainly same characters. These characters are not my favourite, but they are likeable enough that I continue to enjoy the series. I like the twists and the pacing. Another enjoyable addition to the series.

She knows it's a crime scene the minute she walks into the bedroom. A young woman is lying there wtih a shard of glass in her throat. Detective Lottie Parker soon realizes she has a serial killer on her hands when another woman is found murdered ... with a shard of glass in her throat.

Lottie knew the first victim had been at a party the night before and that's where she started her investigation. However, the second victim was a doctor and wasn't a guest at that party. And there is yet a third victim who has been poisoned, but again left with a shard of glass. What connects these three cases? And will she find the killer before there's another murder?

Keeping to her investigation, she knows the closer she gets to the truth, the more danger she faces. And someone has had eyes on her. But instead of going after Lottie, the killer decides to abduct her fiancee, Boyd.

This is well written with a fast-paced complex plot. There are a few surprises, twists and turns that guarantee to keep the reader riveted to the pages. The characters are solidly drawn and relate well with each other. Although 9th in this series, it works well as a stand alone. However, I do recommend this series in order. The conclusion was well conducted and quite unexpected.

Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Set in Ragmullan, Ireland this is DI Lottie Parker’s latest case.
It opens with Lottie is due to finally marry Boyd and then reverses back to a murder of a local girl Rachel who attended a party at a local posh restaurant. She has been poisoned and is found dead the following morning by her twin sister.
Lottie and the team investigate the murder and discover connections to the owner of the restaurant and her family, including her ex husband. Matthew.
There are few sympathetic or likeable characters amongst the suspects and this does seem a horrible town to live in which makes me wonder why people live there. I’d be out of Ragmullan like a shot.
Lottie Parker herself is not the most likeable person though she has been through a tough time.
This was an ok book - didn’t love it but didn’t hate it. Haven’t read the other books in the series so this may have affected my opinions.
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for a fair review.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series and this book was another good addition, however it wasn't quite as good as previous books in the series for some reason. The main storyline features the death of a young woman Rachel Mullen. Although we have the usual suspects back in this book such as Boyd, and Lotties other colleagues they featured very little in comparison to other books. In addition it feels like Lottie has an air of irritation throughout this book and I couldn't quote understand why.

The storyline was okay but I felt like it fell short of other stories in the series. It gathers a little momentum towards the last quarter of the book however I felt like it didn't have the same connections that were in previous books whether that be to family or colleagues. I definitely recommend this series andlook fotrward to the next book, but in all honesty this wasn't my favourite.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I’ve been wanting to read a book by Patricia Gibney for quite some time now, so when I saw this on Netgalley I pressed the request button without realizing it was part of a series. In fact, this is book 9 of the series about Detective Lottie Parker. Not having read the previous books in the series I felt like I was barging in on a party without knowing any of the guests.
Fortunately, the book is very well written with well fleshed out characters and a fast pace.
Lottie is running against time to find a serial killer who is poisoning young women while leaving shards of glass in their mouth. And all this is happening 4 days before her own wedding to her partner Boyd!
I found it to be a fun read and would recommend it to anybody who loves whodunnit detective novels. I would suggest starting with book 1 though!

My favourite Irish writer is back with the 9th installment in her DI Lottie Parker series. As Lottie and Boyd head into their wedding day, their latest case just might halt their future together.

As always, this was a page-turner and Patricia Gibney never makes us wait too long before diving right into the action. Of course, the first number of chapters introduces a whole cast of characters but don't worry they all overlap eventually. This book can be read as a standalone but it just might make you want to read the whole series.

Another fantastic read, I just can't get enough of this series. Boyd and Lottie at their best. Can they get to the bottom of the gruesome murder before anyone else suffers?

Lottie Parker is all set to marry fellow police officer Boyd, thankful that he has beaten cancer. But their nuptials are interrupted by their latest murder case. A number of women have been killed with strychnine leading to an agonised death. Can they catch the killer and make it down the aisle...?
Silent Voices is the 9th book in Patricia Gibney's Lottie Parker series. Each book can be read as a stand alone novel but the life stories of the police team follows on. I'd be surprised if you didn't want to read about their history!
Lottie and her team are inundated with suspicious behaviour and keep coming back to the Fleming family. There are plenty of suspects and a lot of history to sift through. What could connect an entrepreneur with a psychologist and a fifteen year old desperate to be loved? I admit to feeling a little overwhelmed with the number of characters and the length of the book. I had plenty of ideas about who was responsible and why but wasn't right!
The highly anticipated wedding adds an extra dimension to the stress and drama of the case. I enjoyed the personal relationships and professional dynamics of the book which follow on from previous books.
Some of the forensic detail is a bit stomach churning as are the descriptions of the effects of the poison. The descriptions are vivid which is why they create such a horrifying image in the readers' minds. A clever plot, carefully and brutally imagined in words.
Silent Voices is a fab addition to the Lottie Parker series and I can't wait to see what happens next...

This is one of those books where you’re wanting to savour it, but you can’t stop reading because you have to know what happened! I really enjoy this series and have been waiting for no 9. A woman is found poisoned by her sister, her body is twisted with pain. When Lottie finds that the victim has a shard of glass down her throat she worries that it won’t stop here. This looks remarkably like the killer’s ‘signature’ which could mean more than one body, or more killings to come. When a local psychologist and a local businesswoman are both found with the same shard in their throats Lottie is determined to solve the case. Lottie does some investigating around a party the first victim attended, and finds the host and her daughters. The two girls are constantly feuding and their father is totally estranged from the family. Lottie wonders why? Is this a clue or a complete red herring. The other two women don’t have a link to the party at all. Lottie is aggravating the killer though, will he retaliate?

I enjoy Lottie’s professionalism. I can see why others think she’s abrupt or rude, but I think it’s her work mode - she’s efficient and focused, so pleasantries are not needed. She tries so hard to be the best at work and she wants to be a great mum too. As light relief from the case, Lottie and Boyd are so close to their wedding. However, is her personal life being dragged into the case when Boyd goes missing? I was so worried for her. You might think you’ve worked out who is behind the killings but be aware there’s a massive twist. I really enjoyed this book and heartily look forward to no 10.

I’ve read all of the Lottie Parker books and was very excited to be able to read Silent Voices.

Patricia Gibney did not disappoint!

A fantastic read, where we can catch up with Lottie and her team.

I would recommend reading them in order but they can be read as a stand alone.

Brilliant, fast paced story.

A nail biting read that will have your heart pumping in anticipation of what comes after the first few lines. There is love, life, death and menace wrapped up in the books pages as the storyline unfolds. With a dynamic cast of characters we are kept entertained throughout by numerous red herrings and dead ends. All this adds up to a culprit reveal that will blindside you yet make total sense of all that has gone before. A read that you will inhale in one sitting as you are dragged into the world of Lottie and Boyd.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review

This book is number 9 in the series. There are many characters to get to know which was quite difficult when I first started the book. . This book would have been an easier read if one had read the previous books in the series, however once I did get used the the many characters and the sub plots it was quite a good story of murder and mayhem on a grand scale. The story about dysfunctional family characters and multiple murders all mysteriously linked kept me guessing to the end. 4 stars

I really enjoyed reading this latest book on the Detective Lottie Parker saga. She has her plate full and as always there´s a lot of action, mystery, and inexplicable crimes she has to solve. Her team and her boss may not like the way she addresses her job and/or people during their investigations, but she discovers the culprits. A lot is at stake and even the most likable person to be responsible for the heinous crimes is too easy to be labeled as the one. The story kept me going through the night, I had to understand the reasons and learn who was the killer! Great book, highly recommended!

Book Review: Silent Voices by Patricia Gibney
I just LOVE this series. I’m fiercely attached to the characters, to the dramatic plots and the small town setting.

I raced through the book, heart pounding with tension, and loved every startling twist and turn. New and old characters combine together to weave a gripping, thrilling action packed story.

I loved that I had to suspend reality, and not worry about practicalities. Instead I immersed myself into Lottie’s chaotic world and found it a perfect escape from lockdown!

Thanks to Bookouture for giving me for giving me a copy of this book for review consideration. As always, no matter what the source of the book, you get my honest, unbiased opinion.

I have not read books 1 through 8, and did not feel lost this can be read as a stand-alone. This is a great police procedural story, main character Detective Lottie Parker is on the case of Rachel Mullen’s murder. Rachel’s body was discovered by her twin sister the morning after a party. There’s plenty of people at the party, Detective Parker is at a cross roads until a second body is discovered with the same pattern. Could it be the same killer? This is very twisty and suspenseful. Thank you to Bookouture, NetGalley, and the author for a gifted copy. This is my honest review.

This is the ninth book in the Lottie Parker series and I have read and loved them all.
Catching up with Lottie Parker is about so much more than the crime solving, its all about the relationships she has with her three children, her Grandson, her Mother Rose and of course her romantic reationship with Boyd.

We catch up with Lottie again as she and Boyd are due to get married, needless to say things never go to plan, with a few murders to solve first.

I received this arc through netgalley and bookouture in exchange for an honest review.

Silent Voices is the 9th book featuring Patricia Gibney's detective Lottie Parker.

After Rachel Mullen attends a business meeting followed by a cocktail party, Beth discovers her twin sister dead in her bed, a piece of glass embedded in her throat. When another body is found, a female psychologist, killed in the same way but seemingly unconnected, Lottie realises she has her work cut out if she's to find the killer.

I must confess that I have tended to dip in and out of this cracking series for reasons unknown. To date, I have only read books two, seven, eight and nine. With its pacy narrative, Silent Voices has a terrific plot and I enjoyed being reacquainted with the main characters. Lottie, a Garda Síochána detective inspector, lives and works in the fictional town of Ragmullin in the Irish Midlands. The characters of both Lottie and her fiancé DS Mark Boyd have been fabulously crafted by Patricia Gibney. Lottie has a lot on her plate in her personal life which gives an extra dimension to proceedings as she tries to locate her missing fiancé before their wedding day arrives. The novel has a varying timeline, starting with a death from nine years prior, then moving to the present day before going back to the previous week. Told from various viewpoints, the story includes some chapters from a nameless person. Silent Voices is a terrific read with plenty of suspects and a well-concealed perpetrator and motive.

Tense, exciting and intricately crafted, there are some shocking twists in this dark police procedural and Patricia Gibney managed to keep me guessing right up to the riveting conclusion. This is a remarkably good story I can confidently recommend, that will have you reading late into the night.

I really need to catch up on the instalments I've missed.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.
