It’s a crisp spring morning when the small-town community around Briar Ridge Elementary School is shattered by devastating news. Bright and shy five-year-old Nicole has disappeared at recess.

I really enjoyed The Other Mothers. It definitely takes you for a wild ride. It's a page turner that keeps you guessing. Exactly what you'd want from a thriller :)

I wanted to love this one but I couldn't get into it. I didn't care for the writing style nor the character in the story. I would give it 3 our if 5 stars

Thank you netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.

I hadn't read any of the books previously in this series, but I didn't feel hindered in the least. The book was well done, but there are some items that may be triggering for some so tread with caution.

This is my first book by M.M Chouinard and I am surprised I haven't read any of this series before! It wasn't my favourite book ever, no. But it was gripping, tense, fast-paced and had it's suspenseful moments!

The main character is a strong female lead which is something we all like to see. She is easily likeable and relatable which made her easy to connect with. You can tell from the get go that she is passionate about her job and will do all she can for justice to be served.

The plot itself was suspenseful for sure! I was engaged for the majority of the book but in some places I did feel myself losing attention slightly but there was soon a twist that pulled me right back in again!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookoture for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This book was so addictive , I couldnt put it down. This book deals with so many emotions , great plot and characters. Lots of suspects for you to choose from and twists galore. Secrets , lies to keep you engaged. As this is the first book I have read in this series I read this as a stand alone and that was fine.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. Very captivating with amazing character development. A modern day mean girls group of moms who runs a town is rocked when one of their children is murdered. Who could have done it. And why. This book is so full of twists and turns I was shocked at the end. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Other Mothers by M.M. Chouinard is the fourth book in the Detective Jo Fournier series. This particular book did fine as a stand-alone and I was able to follow the plot. However, its apparent that reading them in order is best to understand and appreciate the characters at play especially Detective Fournier.

Detective Jo is called back from medical leave early to investigate a child that has gone missing from the local elementary school. What starts as a potential abducted child case quickly turns to a murder investigation. But it wont stop there. By the end of this book there will be much more bloodshed and death. However ,the party responsible is who you least expect and will leave you utterly shocked!

M. M. writes a gripping and fast paced thriller that not only grabs your attention it also rips out your heartstrings. The Other Mothers is a truly unforgettable read. I honestly cannot wait to read more from Detective Jo Fournier. I am ecstatic to have found another series worth following!

Thank you Bookouture for having me as part of this blog tour.I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

When I tell you to go buy this book now, I mean NOW. This is the 4th book in the Det. Jo Fournier series but you don’t need to have read the previous books to understand this one(although I highly encourage you to read them as well!!) and it does NOT disappoint! When a young girl is found murdered at an upper class private school during recess, the town is shocked. It isn’t the type of place where things like that happen. As Detective Jo and her partner begin the investigation, many suspects start to appear. And we soon realize that nothing is what it seems and you NEVER know what truly goes on behind closed doors. I urge you to read this as the twist in this book is truly disturbing and creepy! I definitely flew through the pages of this book and I cannot wait for the next in the series!

This is the fourth book in the Detective Jo Fournier series. Jo and her partner Arnett, are called to a school where 5 year old Nicole’s body was found in the playground, this hits Jo hard as it is the same school her two nieces go to. Who could murder a 5 year old during school time and nobody see a thing! With plenty of suspects in the pool, Jo & Arnett soon narrow that down only to realise they are dealing with a serial killer as more bodies connected to the school amass! This story will shock the community and school to the core and uncover a web of deceit and lies at the same, everyone seems to be hiding something!

I love this series, its unpredictable, very well thought through with misdirection and red herrings and just when you think you may have it all figured out…. BAM a twist to shock! Cannot wait for No. 5!

It's a gripping and entertaining story, I was hooked since the first pages and kept turning pages.
I liked the atmosphere, the fleshed out characters and the solid plot that kept me guessing.
It's the first book i read in this series and it can be read as a standalone.
Recommended.

This is a fantastic crime series. I love mystery series with strong female characters. Jo is smart, dedicated, and tough, but she’s also got flaws, making her relatable

This is the first book I read from this author and although it’s not the first pen in the series, it’s like a standalone. The plot is very intriguing and the characters engaging and likable. This book caught my attention right from the start and the moment the killer was revealed I was surprised. Sry good read and I’d recommend it.

This is the fourth book in the series featuring Detective Jo Fournier. I hadn’t read any of the other books but thought it read well as a stand-alone. Jo has been on medical leave after her previous case but is called back to work early to investigate the murder of a young five year old girl, Nicole, who was found in her school playground. This upsets Jo as it is the same school that her two nieces attend. Gia, Nicole’s mum, is being comforted by her best friends Molly and Karen and they, as well as Jo, are suspicious as Gia seems cold and unemotional about Nicole’s death. Jo and her partner start interviewing everyone at the school and soon realise that lots of people are keeping secrets. They are then called out to a local museum where a teacher from the same school appears to have fallen to her death but they are convinced it wasn’t an accident. Is the school being targeted and are the cases connected? This is a book full of mystery and suspense with lots of twists and turns. An enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

What could have been a “run-of-the-mill” crime investigation was made much more interesting by a few wise choices of the author. First was the initial victim. Another effective decision was to cast multiple suspicions on multiple characters from the onset of the investigation. The author also did a great job of hinting at possible motives and suspects without hitting the reader over the head. I also loved the Kintsugi art, which I found in another book and have been obsessed with. It was a great metaphor in this story. I still like Jo as a detective, but I wasn’t sure how I felt about her personal life playing a factor. That’s being nitpicky because this may be my favorite in the series so far. This is the fourth novel with Detective Jo Fournier and her partner Detective Arnett. When five year old Nicole disappears at recess Jo is called to investigate. Then Nicole’s body is discovered and it seems as everyone has something to hide.
It was a great story that kept me hooked, can’t wait for book five.

Five year old Nicolle disappears after recess only to be found dead at the side of the dumpsters.
Who would kill a little girl on school property with no one noticing a stranger there..
So it must be someone associated with the school.
Detective Jo Fournier is called on to the case her two nieces go to this school so she is determined to get this case solved and quickly.
Gia nicolle’s mother Karen and Molly are all hiding secrets are they related to the case
Then a teacher on a school trip plunges from an exhibit and is killed was she pushed or did she jump.
Jo must find out the women’s secrets quick before the killer strikes again.
Thanks NetGalley

Love this author and all of her books. I was lucky enough to get an early copy and, though life got in the way and it took me a bit longer than planned to read it, I just loved it. 5 well-deserved stars.
