It was fairly difficult to read with formatting due to ebook version and page cut offs etc, but I love Antoni and I enjoyed the content. The recipes are very unique and not your typical simple dinner recipes, so this would be great for new ideas to spice things up. I also loved seeing other celebrities, like Gigi, in the photos!

These meals are so simple yet not boring. They take classic ideas and add a little twist, or subtly introduce new ingredients into your pantry. With a list of easy staples and basic techniques, Antoni makes it super easy for anyone to grab this book and give a new dish a whirl. I would highly recommend this one over his first if you are looking to really learn some easy dishes before working up to maybe more intimidating adventures. Plus they all look insanely delicious.

If you're a fan of Queer Eye, then this is a must-read! I don't usually think it's necessary to have cookbooks at home when the recipes are usually available online but I loved reading Antoni's "Let's Do Dinner" cookbook. It was fun to read about all the dishes Antoni and his wife cooks.

The layout of the advanced copy I received ruined my experience with this book, from what I could see and read there are some really scrumptious looking dishes but I couldn’t focus as the layout was messed up, I presume in the published copy this won’t be an issue. I don’t know anything about Antoni as I don’t watch Queer Eye but this book shows he likes delicious, classic dishes with a refined edge to them. It’s more of a I’d love to try it cook book rather than wanting to make the dishes as if you’re a regular cook you’ve seen them before. For someone not that experienced with cooking it could be a good addition.

Thank you to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for the advanced copy.

Aside from the fact that I'm a fan of Antoni and his cooking, I really think this book stands out.

I was grateful for the sections at the beginning that provide a list of items to keep your kitchen stocked with (more cookbooks need to do this! It makes shopping so much easier!).

I also think the design choices really compliment the modern yet classically-inspired feel of the recipes included here.

I was grateful to find lots of soup recipes (which I feel are often neglected in cookbooks), and all of the Polish influences (specifically the Polish Bahn Mi which I'm thrilled to try)!!

This would make a beautiful gift and I'm really looking forward to trying a lot of these recipes!

Antoni: Let's Do Dinner by Antoni Porowski is a wonderful example of the perfect cookbook. The pictures are amazing, vibrant, and inviting. The chapter titles are fun and different from other cookbooks. While some of the recipes may be too involved for beginner cooks, practicing these resipes are sure to make the ones you feed feel special. I have already tried the Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Apple-Dijon Vinaigrette – deliciously sweet and savory. I cannot wait to cook through this book.

Fresh, healthy, and colorful are the words that immediately come to mind after reading through this cookbook. Every page is packed full of fresh, flavorful ingredients that all mixed together would make beautiful and healthy dishes. The majority of the recipes do have quite a few ingredients, but that being said, most are things I typically have on hand at all times, herbs and spices especially. The beginning of the book provides several informative lists of the basics that are always good to have on hand in your pantry, freezer, and countertop. The pictures are beautiful and make each dish look so visually pleasing and delicious! I am most excited to try the stuffed poblanos and Antoni’s healthy take on carbonara. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced electronic copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my review. Super excited for its release and can’t wait to add a hard copy to my kitchen.

There has been a resurgence of home cooking, out of necessity, this last year. I'm sure this has increased interest in new celebrity cookbooks. Enter Antoni Porowski, one of the 5 stars of Netflix's Queer eye.

This book is beautiful. It has lovely, eye catching photography that's sure to make the most stalwart dietary restriction adherent drool. in shameless hunger. There is photo after of Antoni enjoying meals with friends in a lovely apartment, maybe making one forget entirely there is a pandemic, taking in person entertaining completely out of anyone's frame of reference.

You may be thinking, however, that this is a cookbook, therefore I only need to know about the recipes. Well I really don't know. You see, Antoni starts his book with a pantry list, much like many other cookbook writers these days. As you skim this list you notice 6 or 7 different hot sauces and a whole host of other, what in my neck of the woods would be considered, specialty ingredients. I live almost smack dab in the middle of the United States. I do have access to a Whole Foods and of course I can order food ingredients online, but a Whole Foods is 40 minutes away from my house, so making something out of this cookbook on an impulse is completely out of the question. My largest grocery store is a Walmart. No specialty ingredients at the ready.

It can't be the whole book though, right? Yes. Yes it can. I read through most of the recipes in the book, and the good news is that if you buy the ingredients on his pantry list, you're set. Again, there's no spontaneous cooking from this book. At all. I honestly cannot tell you how delicious any of the food is. All of the photos are lovely though and it's mostly food I would be willing to try if I didn't have to make an intentional effort to plan to get the ingredients for a menu next week.

This is an absolutely beautiful cookbook. The vibrant pictures that accompany each recipe is exactly how every cookbook should be written. As for the recipes, they just didn't click with me and didn't seem like recipes I would make for my family.

Some relatively doable recipes, many with a fun creative flair. Antoni definitely loves potatoes, which is a commendable trait in my book.

This book was received as an ARC from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

All of the recipes in this book sound so delicious and I absolutely love the fact he included photos for almost every recipe featured. I can definitely see this being a potential candidate for a future cooking demo. I also loved the smiles on Antoni and his wife and how they looked like they were having the time of their lives with all of those delicious dishes they are blessed with. If they are having fun and enjoying themselves then I know our patrons will enjoy themselves too. I especially can’t wait to try the spinach salad with mushrooms, crispy chicken and fried eggs, cheesy polenta with eggs and the masala spinach omelette.

We will consider adding this title to our TX Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
