The author takes you through every aspect of setting up a home office, gives you things to consider and do, all of which help you get the hoem office space that will work for you and make working in your home office so much nice and hopefully productive.

What an excellent book on a topic most have been concerned with in today's culture and out of necessity due to the pandemic.
Home offices are now a part of our work day, whether it's stay at home for kids out of schooling or shared work space for shelter in place or work at home days in business. This book is filled with ideas, decor inspiration, set up and finding a place to tuck a small office center into an existing space. From lighting and security to layout and design this book will help anyone find a place in their home for a work space.

This book was surprisingly insightful. I was worried it was going to be an aspirational Martha Stewart-esque tome where we are shown gorgeous stock photos that have no resemblance in any way shape or form to the 1960s ranch or 1980s tract home we sit in as we leaf through the pages. Many people with means have large lovely homes with large lovely spaces that lend themselves well to home offices. They also often have interior designers and other resources at their disposal. For the rest of us, there is this book.

Peterson does provide a large range of photos for inspiration, but the text is filled with small insights that, if adhered to, will truly help you find the space in your home where you can create a workspace that is efficient, functional, works with your existing space and needs of your home, and is pleasant to be in. The text prompts consideration of a variety of things, like considering where the glare from the sun hits, where your eyes are drawn to, whether features are in place to maximize utility and comfort, whether the space needs to fill additional purposes as well - Peterson thinks of virtually every important question. He even gives nuts-and-bolts practical tips like how to install a desk in a bedroom closet (instructions and cut-list included), or how to soundproof space in your attic or garage.

I am already looking at my home, and my work-from-home space, with new eyes. This book is well done and timely. Pleasantly surprised! Thank you Chris Peterson, netGalley, and FoxChapel publishing for the ARC!

Tons of full color photos plus DIY suggestions make this title a practical guide to getting started planning a home office. Lots of ideas for those beginning to brainstorm how to put together their working space, plus tips for things you may not have considered. A good tool for someone just starting to plan looking for brainstorming inspiration.

This one has good tips and tricks abput how to created a Good space to work at home, but I dont’t feel that was particullary helpful to me… ’cause I basically live in an egg, so I feel like there’s no good options in case you have little space and short budged (especially when you lie in a rent space) so probably for someone else, great option.

Home offices are a necessity for many families in the time of Covid. This book is chock full of photos and ideas for setting up home offices in limited space or even entire rooms. It also shows a variety of design styles from minimalist to maximalist.

This was a clear-cut instruction on how to layout a home office space. I was drawn to the book because of the "cloffice" (closet office) featured on the cover.

The book breaks down desk placement throughout different areas in the home (from the traditional office space to hallways and closets). It also goes so far as to bring up adequate lighting and color palettes.

I found it very helpful and inspirational in getting my own home office set up. It is a quick read and doesn't feature many artsy photos so it is heavier on the instruction side of things.

I recommend picking this up if you're looking to change up your space.

You might be thinking, okay, why do we need a book about home offices? Can't people just get a desk and chair and put it somewhere? Okay, maybe that was just me. However skeptical I was, I actually think this book had some really good suggestions. I slowed down a bit after looking initially at the start of the book, thinking to myself that I didn't have the money or space for most of the suggestions. However, I started to get really interested in some of the ideas that this book had, notably the suggestions about space saving, DIY tips, and suggestions for colors/personalization. I think that the target for this book would be someone who is 1) able to spend the money on having a nice home office; 2) able to utilize a certain space effectively; 3) needs to either build one for the first time or change something specific, like they are having a problem with space or lighting; 4) someone who is really into interior design or something and just likes to look at home office stuff. One of the cool things about the book was the color chart which suggested themes for whatever feeling you were going for. My area is grey so it didn't fit into the scheme perfectly but it was still pretty cool. Oh and I loved most of the designs in the photos. Would love to emulate one day.

This is a book that would be wonderful for anyone that is looking to have a home office or rearrange their current one. This book gives so many different ideas to have and use in your home office. If you need a little help than this book would be just for you.

After the introduction and the 'Inspiration gallery' there are three chapters. First, 'Choosing a location'; next 'Setting up your home office', and finally 'Better ways to work from home'. The first chapter outlines different considerations and room options. Chapter 2 focuses more on planning your space, and the last chapter has lots of tips to make working from home better. In the current Covid climate this is a perfect book for those having to work from home. Great ideas for all spaces with floor plans included. The ideas go from modern minimalist to old fashioned traditional. A great book.

Helpful guide geared toward people who are beginning to work from home or need to set up a dedicated home office for the first time. The book has three main chapters: choosing a location, setting up the home office, and better ways to work from home. The location chapter reviews a lot of factors as to what area(s) within your home would be an optimal place to put your office or workspace. Setting up reviews layouts, types of furniture, lighting, technology needs, etc. The better ways to work chapter has tips, info on video meetings, if you have kids, tax tips, and lists of programs and resources.
I have worked at home for almost 6 years and was hoping this would have more info I could use to revamp my current workspace, but it felt more like it was for those truly starting out. It could be very helpful and applicable during Covid as people work more from home and/or choose to remain remote.

This books will show you that you absolutely do have a space that can be used as your home office, very creative. Designing tips are offered as well as tax advantages you have when working from home along with what apps and programs to use. Lots of great photos.

Home Office Solutions by Chris provides a treasure chest of ideas for creating a better home office. Now that working from home appears to be more of a long term decision than a short term people are getting more serious about their home office set up.

My favorite part was all of the pictures. He does have a good section on technology and apps that will be helpful for many.

The book provides a one stop shop for all the decisions you will want to make when making your home office more permanent. He talks you through the options of the decisions you will make.

I recommend the physical copy over the digital copy. At first you may think the cost of the book is high. But if it helps you to make even one better decision it will save you way more than $20 in the long run.

This book has alot of great ideas on using small areas of your house to turn into a productive space. I haven't tried any of the ideas so that is why I give it 3 starts and plus cost I have no clue what the cost would be to do everything exactly in the book. I think as a family always tight budget so I love tips that are excellent and on small budget. But if you don't have a budget then this book is awesome with tons of ideas you can do in both budgets.
