Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
With that being said, my review copy of this one was unfortunately very poorly formatted, which took me out of the moment quite a bit. As with most poetry, the poems were pretty hit or miss for me. I did, however, enjoy the "Shoetry" format. If you like flash fiction, I think you'll also enjoy this form of writing, as well!

Unfortunately this book disappointed me. The format made it hard to read and the poems weren't what I expexted.

I strongly dislike this book. The format was confusing and hard to read, and the content of the poetry wasn't worth the struggle at all. It was a very simple read, but certainly not an easy one.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!
The cover of this book really is simple but beautiful.
I'm a sucker for heartwarming and emotional poetry.
This book was fantastic. Seriously.
I'd definitely purchase a copy and check out other books by the author.

Fireflies at 3am is a quick, but powerful read. This book only took me about one and a half hours to read, but let me tell you, it is one powerful read. It dives into some pretty deep topics, poem dwells on our weakness as human beings.
This book has many unique things but the most unique one that I would like others to know is that after each poem or story in the collection, the book invites your creativity... it has blank pages on which a reader can muse or write something he or she likes.

I was not very into this book. It didn't hold my interest very well at all. The poetry and stories were lovely just not for me.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for providing me with an eArc of this book. I was very excited to dive into this book of 'shoetry' as I thought the concept sounded amazing and I love a good poetry book.
Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as I had hoped. It may have been a technical issue but there was a repetition of the image of a yellow circle inside a white square, and some of the poems itself were cut off and didn't make sense in some cases with regard to constant repetition etc.
I personally didn't connect to any of the poems nor did any, in particular, stand out to me. They all seemed to be similar and with the addition of the technical glitches in the digital copy, it was quite frustrating to read, not knowing what was supposed to be there to what is.
Again a huge thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me access to a digital copy, I'm sorry I didn't enjoy it as much as I had wanted.

I was given the opportunity to view this work thanks to Danni Thomas (writer) and NetGalley. I initially jumped on this book, because I love a good hit of poetry, especially ones that tell a story, but for me, this work just didn’t do it. I felt like I was forcing myself to flip the page to see if there was better pieces further along and it never came unfortunately. For me, poetry is meant to make you feel a great assortment of things, and I was left feeling a little bored.

Beautifully written and laid out. Self hope, self love, anxiety and depression mixed with self doubt. I felt like this book was speaking to me and for me. It was so beautifully written and resonated to my core. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Maybe my copy was bugged but the poems repeated sometimes and some sentences were cut off and continued at a totally different place on the page.
None of the poems or stories stuck out to me and this read more like a tumblr page than an actual book.

2.5 stars- rounded to 3
I'm not the biggest poetry reader, but I try to read some every now and then. When I saw that this was a mix of poetry and short stories, I was very interested to read it.
The poems were ok. I obviously liked some more than others. The short stories weren't bad either, but didn't always seem to fit in with the poems.
It was a quick read, and I think if the premise interest you in any way, you should give it a shot!
Thank you to Danni Thomas, StoryMirror Publishing, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book of poetry is really beautiful, deep, and lovely. I very much enjoyed the subjects it explored. The writing and word choices were evocative and powerful. I highly recommend this book.

I can't even describe this book in words. It's just bad, plain poetry, I didn't liked the format and I find it really hard to read it.

I had high hopes for this book and it was disappointing. Not sure if it was the poems or the download but there was more repeating the same line over and over again than their ones actual poetry.

Unfortunately this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. I will say I enjoyed the short stories within the poems. I am not a big poetry reader but there are three or four poetry books I adore. I think this one may appeal to some it just personally didn’t speak to me

I started reading this thinking it was a collection of beautiful brief poems, but I came out very disappointed. Not only the format of the copy made it really difficult to read, most of the poems were dull and plain. I don't think I enjoyed a single of them.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this before publication date.

An interesting look into a new technique, "shoetry", the blending of poetry and short stories. I was interested from the description of how the book was. The format of the stories/poems was definitely unique and different. There was a lot of repetition, a lot. If you're interested in discovery new poems and short stories, or both, give this book a try. It's definitely different.

Fireflies at 3 am by Danni Thomas introduces us to 'shoetry', a unique blending of poetry and short stories. I was intrigued and anxious to discover this new form, and I must say that the marriage of genres was quite harmonious and fluid. While I found the collection to be a thought-provoking rumination on various elements of human behaviour, I did note that some of the poetry tends to be repetitive in an otherwise sharply observed stream of consciousness. Thank you to author Danni Thomas for introducing a new hybrid of poetry and short story. 3.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and StoryMirror for this ARC.
