#. 3 Charlotte and Emmett in Cowboy’s Convenient Marriage by Mary Sue Jackson and Leslie North This book is the the marriage of convenience trope with a twist: it is the billionaire woman who needs the marriage and proposes to the man. That is one of the few appealing and genuinely fresh parts of this book. The rest of the book follows the usual plot lines and I found it hard to warm up to the female lead, though easier to like the male lead. There were a lot of ‘convenient’ things happening - how did one hearing give the female lead citizenship, for instance? How does the mother move to another assisted living facility all by herself and then how do they get her back into the first place with only a phone call after her being put on a wait list because there was no room? I would give this book a 3 and would not recommend this book to my patrons or buy it for my library. |
Cowboy's Convenient Marriage Series: None; Standalone Rating: 4 stars Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own. Cowboy's Convenient Marriage was a good story. Like the title says Charlotte and Emmett need to get married and both agree to a marriage of convenience that will benefit both in the near future. They've known each other since they were young so the agreement went very smoothly. Little did they know that their feelings were going to come in to change their sweet arrangement. Cute story! |
Mary Sue Jackson’s book, A Cowboy’s Convenient Marriage, is one of gratifying determination and heartwarming moments. With just enough tension to keep the story from falling into the overly sweet category, it had characters who are sure to touch your heart in such a memorable way...it just may be some time before they aren’t forefront in keeping the story alive in your mind. As a new to me author, Ms Jackson’s writing is truly a breath of fresh air in a genre where plots are repeated ad nauseam. I look forward to read from her in the future. The Cowboy's Convenient Marriage by Mary Sue Jackson and Leslie North is a good romance story. Charlotte and Emmett know each other from their high school days. Charlotte finds that she must get married immediately to save her inheritance due to her brother's blackmail. She approaches Emmett with a financial proposal to help his ranch, in order to have a marriage of convenience. It is a win-win for both of them. But, their marriage begins to turn in to the real thing. I enjoyed the story and its characters and recommend this book to all romance readers. I also love the sexy cowboy on the cover which grabbed my interest in the book! Thank you NetGalley for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. |

Charlotte needs a green card and Emmett needs a cash input, they enter into a marriage of convenience which quickly turns into love, and a great little voyage of discovery along the way as Charlotte discovers daddy was not always right, and Emmett learns that he is not responsible for his families money woes. Great new author, and a lovely story which I feel doesn’t need the half naked man on the cover. |

This book was actually better than I expected it to be. A little more character development and background would have been nice. Some more detail about Charlotte’s brother and why the company was left to her, more about her relationship with her brother. I would also suggest that the cheesy cover be changed. |

This is a great convenient marriage that turns into love. I always like these types of happily ever after stories. Plus a small town story is a plus too. |
