A perfect marriage - Is there really, truly, such a thing? Or is perfection only something to read and daydream about in fairytales? The Perfect Marriage is a twisty, dark, delicious read that keeps you guessing till the end.

So what’s it about? Well, can I just say this read is about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING BUT a perfect marriage! Sarah Morgan is a high profile, kickass defense attorney who is married to Adam Morgan. Adam, who isn’t successful – always in the shadow of his talented wife and well – Adam can’t seem to keep that darn pickle in his pants! Yes, cue the music – Adam engages in an affair with a young, fox named Kelly. When Kelly turns up dead, Adam is the number one suspect and his wife, Sarah is his only hope for freedom. Will Sarah convince the court that Adam is innocent? Or will he be put to death for his actions?

I leave you with this final thought - Justice, much like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some may look and see an innocent victim. Whereas, others will see evil incarnate getting exactly what’s deserved.

Wow! What an amazing roller-coaster of a ride that this book took me on! And it was AMAZING!! Meet Adam and Sarah, married couple with no children. Due to her work and long hours, Adam feels he doesn’t get the attention he needs from his wife. So, he looks elsewhere. Enter Kelly, Adam’s mistress. They meet up from time to time and enter into a romantic relationship, unbeknownst to Adam’s wife Sarah. Adam spends the night at the lake house with Kelly, and leaves early the next morning while she is still sleeping, only to find out that she was found at the lake house in his bed, murdered. Adam is adamant that he is innocent, that he did not kill her, and that she was very much alive when he left her that morning. Now of course he is hit with a double whammy – now his wife Sarah knows that he has been cheating on her. Sarah is now faced with not only dealing with the news that her husband has cheated on her, but now she decides to also represent him as his lawyer in the murder trial.

A whirlwind of a story that will have you hooked on every single page, eager to learn more. Who killed Kelly? Was it Adam? Was it her own husband? Was it someone from her past who might know her secrets? There are so many lies and betrayals going on in this book and I loved it! Kept me guessing and second guessing. A true edge-of-your-seat book that you will devour, whether you read it or listen as an audiobook. With an ending that I did not see coming at all! Wow! Cannot say enough good things about this book!

A book that I definitely recommend! Be sure to grab your copy now!

DNF - too much swearing, the constant use of F*** and B**** were frustrating, and I just can't stand the infidelity story line - the use of cheating has become far to normal.

I enjoyed it! It was honestly so engaging throughout its entirety. For me that is one of the things that makes for a good read. I loved the mystery and the twist at the end!

I really enjoyed that this was written from both the wife and husbands point of views as it really helped keep me on my toes and see more of the big picture. Even still, I never would have been able to guess the ending. Such a good book!

Sarah Morgan is a high powered defense attorney and she is married to Adam Morgan. Adam Morgan is cheating on her with Kelly Summers. Kelly is found dead in the lakehouse Adam and Kelly would meet up. Adam needs to show that he is innocent. The Perfect Marriage had many twists and turns and had me guessing who was the killer. Lots of secrets were dug up on Kelly. I kept on changing my mind of who it was. And I still didn't figure it out until the very end However! However, I do feel that was a bit unbelievable and there were some huge holes in the plot.
The narration was fine and I had no problems with it. The story did have too many expletives for my tastes. However, the story was definitely a suspense filled one. It did drag at the 3/4 point but the rest of the story made up for it.

Sarah is a powerful defense attorney at the height of her career, while her husband Adam is a struggling writer who’s found little success. Tired of Sarah’s long hours, he starts a passionate affair with Kelly. Then one morning Kelly is found brutally stabbed to death. Soon Adam is arrested and Sarah has to take on her hardest case yet: defending her own husband for murder...

This story had me hooked from the beginning. It’s well-written, with an intricate plot that had me constantly questioning every character. I thought the twists were well done and always came at the perfect time. Add in the satisfying ending and this is a great debut novel!

The excellent audio performances also really enhanced my enjoyment of this book!

4.5 stars!

I just started this title 5 hours ago and I am blazing through it. I absolutely love the narration of this book. I can’t figure it out and now I have stopped trying. Now I’m just absorbing the story. I’ve just ordered this title for my library in print, downloadable audiobook, and book on CD! This will be a great addition to our fiction collection!

Update!!!!!
The perfect marriage was absolutely amazing. I blazed through this title. The character and the plot were wonderfully developed. Even though there were too many twists to count, it wasn’t overdone or hard to follow. I didn’t figure it out, and to me that is a great thing! I could totally see this as a movie or limited run series like big little lies. I’d totally watch that!!!Pick this up if you love a good twisty thriller. This author is going on my watchlist.

Underneath the surface lies a second story. At least it does for Adam and Sarah. Their perfect marriage isn't all it appears - no, it's definitely not. In fact, Adam is having an affair and Sarah is in love with her work.

But when the mistress is found dead in Adam and Sarah's second home, Adam is arrested for murder. And from there, both of their world's unravel.

The narrators, a man and a woman, did an excellent job bringing this story to life - giving it emotion. It felt like they were telling me a juicy story and it definitely left me thrilled.

I can't help but be frustrated that Adam wasn't given a fair trial, and I felt his frustration throughout the book. I couldn't make up my mind on if I liked Sarah or felt sympathy for her. And who really did kill the mistress? Who's innocent and who's the guilty party?

In the end, it was easy to make my mind up, to know who's the villain. Read/listen to this one to know which way it went.

Adam find out that his mistress has been stabbed to death in the bed of his lake house where they were having their affairs. His wife Sarah is his defense attorney. This leads to a domestic suspense story which will have you questioning who murdered the mistress, Kelly. Was it Adam or maybe someone form her jot so innocent past, I started listening to the audiobook with my husband on a road trip, but he decided it was boring and didn’t want to listen to the rest. I finished it on my own because I’m the type to always finish books I start reading. It was just an okay book? Nothing that really differentiated it from other suspense novels. I enjoyed the narrators in the audiobook.

I was pretty immediately enthralled with this story! I liked witnessing Sarah's conflicted thoughts as she deals with finding out her husband was having an affair (until the end :O) but also trying to be a good lawyer for him. Although I couldn't stop thinking about how it would be a huge conflict of interest and seems not realistic to me that she would be allowed to be her husband's lawyer. Also I do think the twist was pretty predictable but still the reveal was still really good. Oh and I hated Adam's mom!

I didn't want to like this book at first due to the simple fact it's about a cheating husband. I slowly got into it, I had my theories of who did it and of course I was wrong. With the secrets pouring out and the twists coming left and right, I believe you'll love this book.

Thank you #DreamscapeMedia #NetGalley for letting me listen to this audiobook.

Sarah is a high powered, named partner, defense attorney, the best in her field. Her husband Adam had some early success in his writing career but is in a slump.

Enter a lake house to try to save his writing career and give them a quiet place away from the city life. The lake house instead ends up providing the perfect love nest for Adam and his mistress. Unfortunately, just as he is making his decision between his two loves, his mistress is found dead...in his bed...and all arrows point to Adam.

Sarah steps up to the plate to defend her husband and try to save him from being sentenced to death for a crime he insists he did not commit.

There are plenty of twists and turns to the case, which kept me guessing, but ultimately not surprised by the ending. There were some holes in the case and some holes with some characters that left me wanting a bit at the end of the book. Overall though a quick, engaging read.

For true thriller fans I would categorize this book as more of a slow burn thriller. It felt more like a lawyer/police drama for much of the book before the excitement notched up in the last third of the book.

The narration of this book switches between Adam and Sarah throughout. The narrators, Neil Hellegers and Teri Schnaubelt, did an excellent job bringing the story, and characters, to life. If you are checking this book out I highly recommend the audio version.

The Perfect Marriage is a twisty thriller with a unique premise. Sarah Morgan is a top criminal defense lawyer and now has to defend her husband who has been accused of murdering his mistress. Full of unreliable and unlikeable characters, this book kept me guessing until the end, and then it caught me by complete surprise. While the book is set around a murder trial, we really don’t get much detail on the trial itself. This made me mad initially, so be forewarned. There are some plot holes in the book, but I’ll let them slide since the author did a great job setting up a surprise ending. I enjoyed this one on audio and thought the narrators did a great job.

I haven’t dipped my toes into audio books yet but I’ve been dying to read this one so I figured why not try it? The narration was amazing and the storyline kept me wanting more. From the very beginning I was hooked on this story and wanted to know who killed Kelly. The ending was so good and I’m surprised at how it turned out. I’ll definitely be recommending this one to others!

Sarah thinks she has the perfect life; career as a high powered defense attorney, 2 houses, and a loving husband, until a woman is found dead in the bed of her lake house. The woman was her husband Adam's mistress and Adam is accused of killing her. Sarah takes the case because who else could save him? A story of secret's and betrayal in a marriage.

The narrators did a convincing job and captured the voices of Sarah and Adam.
