Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

I couldn’t get into this book. I thought it was all over the place and I couldn’t keep the characters straight in the first few chapters and that just turned me off right at the beginning. I kept going but just couldn’t finish.

This book is exceptional as it mirrors much of what we see and hear following the Trump defeat, and the extraordinary behaviour of many. A book of our times!

The story is relatively simple and follows a retired, wealthy musician, Tyler Sloan, as he runs for a seat in the Nevada Senate. He has to contend with many problems. like a ex tape, but he handles it all well. Some of the other characters seem 'over the top', but hearing some of the American people shouting/talking recently is quite believable!!

Thanks to Net Galley and Realclear Publishing for the chance to read and review.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.

Tyler Sloan is an aging rockstar looking for something different. His father is a successful career politican who just loss the Presidential race. Tyler decides to run, as an independent, for the U S Senate. What could possibly go wrong?

Center Stage follows the Senate race and the twists and turns that happen in a politcal race. The backstabbing, the payoffs, the whole shebang. The things you hope are not going on, usually are.

yup, I don't know what part is the THRILLER part here.
Is about a retired singer running for senate in the shade of his fathers position in government.
tells a bit about the campaign trail and the efforts that are gone to in order to project an image or secure promises.
That is all....no thriller for me.
is okay for a bus ride

This book follows a newly retired musician, Tyler Sloan, as he vies for a seat in the Senate. This was an enjoyable book. I did not experience anything while reading that would lead me to feel it is a thriller. I enjoyed following Tyler through his race for the seat, and I also enjoyed the way he handled himself with all of the media issues. I liked the book and would read books from this author again.

Center Stage, a thriller by Wayne Avrashow, is a must read for anyone interested in the running of a political campaign - in this instance a seat in the U.S. Senate. The candidate is a wealthy rock star in his 40s who seeks to follow in his father’s footsteps. His father was a former state governor who had an unsuccessful attempt at a run for the presidency.
The action includes all the expected hot topics - sex tapes, debates, TV appearances, rallies, deals for newspaper endorsements, drug addiction, suspicious deaths, gun control, reporters with their own agendas, blackmail, claims of election fraud, etc. This is all interspersed with personal relationships such as father/son, father/daughter, an ex wife and a young campaign manager.
Mr. Avrashow has written an intelligent, intriguing novel with expertly crafted characters and story lines. Once begun, it is hard to put the book down. I thank NetGalley and Real Clear Publishing for making this book available and I will anxiously await the author’s next novel.

I had never heard of this author but the description caught my eye. This was an enjoyable read and I found myself drawn to it over and again as I wanted to learn how the story would play out. A great diversion and timely in our highly politically divisive time.
