I read Mia and Nattie with my 8yo son and we both enjoyed it. It is a sweet message about how what looks different has a special place and purpose. He was interested through the entire story and curious how it would conclude. It became even sweeter knowing it’s a true story. Beautiful illustrations!

This is an adorable story of a sheep who becomes a family member, and helps others along the way. I really like the illustration style, and while the story is a bit long, I love knowing it was based on a true story.

Mia and Nattie: One Great Team by Marlena M. Bell is a sweet story of friendship between a small girl named Mia and an orphaned baby sheep named Nattie. Nattie was abandoned by her mother because there was not enough milk to feed her. Mia discovers Nattie and takes her inside to care for and bottle feed. Mia and Nattie bond and Mia feels that Nattie is perfect even if f she is small and imperfect. Eventually Grandmother says that Nattie has to go outside, but Nattie doesn't know how to be an outdoor sheep. Mia works with Nattie to get her ready to live outside with the other sheep. Grandmother has other ideas and wants to sell Nattie because se is too small to have babies. n Mia convince Grandmother that Nattie can serve a purpose on the farm or will Nattie be sold?
This is a sweet story and the illustrations are adorable. Who wouldn't want a cute baby sheep as a friend after reading this story? Children will adore Nattie (and may ask if they can have a lamb as a pet) while they learn about friendship, teamwork, compassion, and love. It also shows that everyone has value, no matter what imperfections they may have.

An easy read book about a short girl, her grandmother, and a lamb who would never grow to the size of the rest of the flock. Grandmother isn't hopeful and plans to sell Natalie the horned Dorset sheep, but Mia works to show that Nattie is very needed on their own farm. The illustrations by Grace Sandford are perfect and the story is a lesson to all.
OK, so this is not an unbiased review. I love wool and sheep and some wonderful *short* people.
I requested and received a temporary ebook copy from Ewephoric Publishing via NetGalley. THANK YOU.

Perfect book to sit down and share with young children.
A big plus is the wording is not full of overly complicated words.
Illustrations are beautiful, simple and not overly fussy.
Mia is very endearing as she lovingly takes Nattie under her care. Though I did find Mia’s grandmother a bit mean, she did come around by the end of the story.
A story that teaches perseverance and never giving up on something or someone you believe in.
I would read this to my preschool class.

Mia and Nattie: One Great Team! is a cute book that shows people that we all have a purpose and to never give up. It tells the story of Nattie-a sheep and a girl named Mia. Nattie was born small with deformities. Mia's grandmother owns Nattie and Mia is constantly convincing her grandmother to keep Nattie because Nattie could still do something. This book would be great to read in a classroom or library setting. Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. (This review is also on GoodReads.)

This was a heartwarming story about a girl who fights for the underdog, the underdog being her sheep. The sheep is smaller than normal and isn’t able to produce babies. Do they keep the sheep or sell her?

Mia and Nattie: One Great Team is an excellent children's story! It's about care and commitment, and as stated in the description, it's a heartwarming book that teaches readers about problem-solving, teamwork, and love. Yes, it does.

The writing and pictures are simplistic to understand, yet I didn't feel TOO simplistic. This book would really appeal to any youngster that has an interest and love for animals (and especially sheep), and perhaps being involved in 4-H 5th Grade and below. Highly recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is a lovely story with pleasing illustrations based on true events as described by the author before the story starts. Nicely done. Children would enjoy it.

As a fans of The Dodo, I can relate so much of this story. How a baby animal will be left to die by it's mother if she thought that the newborn won't survive. But a human's faith in the animal, rescue it and so many times miracle happen, the animal survive and even serve as the owner's pet.

Very cute story, the illustrations are precious. Like that the author gave a small synopsis of the real Nattie's story. Wished there was one more example of Nattie being a nanny or help on the farm before the story ended, some wordiness noted but doesnt detract. Overall a strong recommendation, my kids now want a goat!
