PICTURE PERFECT FRAME is the twelfth book in the Tourist Trap Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon. This newest addition to a long-enjoyed series is a fun return to the small beach town of South Cove, California and catching up with protagonist Jill Gardner. It’s like visiting a friend and their charming town after an absence. The descriptive setting is picture perfect, especially Jill’s delightful shop Coffee, Books, and More… a place I’d dearly love to hang out in. Ms. Cahoon has created appealing characters and I love how she introduces new ones who grow into key supporting characters over time. Most of them are hardworking, caring townsfolk, with minor idiosyncrasies. Except for Esmerelda, the town’s quirky medium, who marches to the beat of her own drummer. I really, really have enjoyed Esmerelda, who livens up each of the scenes she’s been in throughout the series and I was happy to see her receive more page time in this book.

In Picture Perfect Frame, Esmerelda is in trouble and seems to be involved in the newest murder in town. Jill’s detective boyfriend, Greg, asks Jill to find out what’s going on with Esmerelda, after she quit her job working for Greg. From there, it doesn’t take long for Jill to start hunting down clues to clear her friend’s name. I liked that instead of Greg telling Jill to stay out of the investigation, he appreciates her valuable input as long as she’s mindful of her safety. Despite there not being a plethora of suspects, there are plenty of twists and clues to keep the reader guessing. The plot moves along steadily and kept my interest. While the reveal was a bit anticlimactic, it wrapped up the threads of the investigation and with a hint at new changes in Jill’s life, leaves me wanting the next installment sooner than later.

Visiting South Cove is always a treat for this reader. Catching up with Jill and Greg is always so much fun, because you know Jill is going to get wrapped up in another murder investigation.
I really enjoyed Picture Perfect Frame, especially because it focused around Esmerelda, who happens to be one of my favorite people in the series.
It seems that some people aren’t happy with Esmerelda and her special abilities, so when she finds herself a person of interest in a murder investigation, she hides in her home, embarrassed. Jill refuses to let this happen, so she begins to ask questions, no matter how much it annoys Greg.
The end was very exciting, so I am anxiously waiting for the next book.

This series is one of my favorite if not THE favorite of all I read. The characters, their actions, and all are way above the average level. I'm wishing there was another one right now so I could jump in with both feet.

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

“Picture Perfect Frame" the 12th instalment in the "Tourist Trap” Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon. This is one of my favourite cozy mystery series.

Visiting South Cove, California and Coffee, Books & More is always a pleasure. I love the main set of characters Jill, Amy, Aunt Jackie, Greg, Toby and now we have Deek and Evie as part of the CBM family.

As for the mystery I found it to be well plotted and it moved along at a steady pace. There were only a few suspects for the murder and but you still find yourself second guessing on who the murderer can be. Overall I found this to be a great story and I loved the surprise ending!
I can’t wait for the next instalment to come out.

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy friends.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

Picture Perfect Frame takes the reader on another enjoyable visit to South Cove. With this 12th installment, Ms. Cahoon has created wonderful characters that readers enjoy. Jill Gardner is not one to keep out of trouble for long. This time around, she decides to do a little of her own sleuthing when her neighbor Esmarelda is considered the prime suspect in the murder of a woman who was one of her clients. By now Greg knows better than to stand in her way, he just asks her to be careful and to relay any things she discovers. This installment wasn't as fraught with Jill in danger as in many of her past adventures. However, there is a new employee at Books, Coffee and More that I think might be a good addition to the secondary cast of characters. There is a secondary storyline about Amy and Justin's wedding that did get old after a bit, but that is put to rest in this book. There is a nice surprise at the end that will make readers look forward to the next book in the series.

I voluntarily read a digital advanced reader copy provided to me by the publisher, Kensington, through Netgalley. The thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

This is the 12th book in the Tourist Trap Series. In this book, Jill is working on getting things ready for her friend Amy’s wedding. Plus she is preparing for a St. Patrick’s Day festival in South Cove. But when a woman is found murdered, and her neighbor Esmeralda is fingered as the main suspect, Jill is determined to find out the truth.

I absolutely adore this series, and these characters. The characters feel like family, and South Cove feels like coming back home. This book was another wonderful installment in this series. It is just as good as all the previous books. This book is an easy, quick read, and holds your interest throughout. I recommend this entire series of you enjoy a good mystery with characters that feel like good friends.

I adore Lynn Cahoon's A Tourist Trap Mystery series. I can't wait to get back to South Cove. The mystery and subsequent death in 'Picture Perfect Frame' was dark and unsympathetic, and Esmerelda is being targeting as the murderer. Jill can't stay away from investigating to prove Esmerelda's innocence. I love Jill and Greg and am especially encouraged by the growth of their relationship, but I need Sasha to reconnect with Toby. The resolution of the murder was a little rushed and detached and kept me from giving this a perfect mark. Other than that it is a wonderful addition (with a great cliffhanger) to the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Another favourite of mine! I'm finding my grove in the cozy mystery genre and boy am I glad I've found Lynn Cahoon. This was so fun! I loved all the characters and the little town felt a lot like where I live so it was super cool in that sense. I've found another favourite author in the genre and can't wait to read more.

As always, the mystery was top notch and reminded me why I love these characters.
This book had great writing, a whodunit that kept me guessing, and characters full of personality.

There's danger again in South Cove, but Greg and his deputies are on it. Of course, Jill can't help herself - she has to be involved as well. But how much can she really do between running her store and helping her bestie, Amy, with her wedding? Believe me, Jill always finds a way to be in the middle of things...even when the ones who care about her wish she didn't.

Love, love this wonderful series. Jill and Greg are so great together. And Amy, Esmerelda, Toby, and all the rest of the town residents are amazing as well. They all feel real and like someone you can really count on. I also appreciate how this author keeps her characters moving forward in life, and that Jill still remembers she has a store to run...not just spend all of her time sleuthing around.
I really wish I could just grab my beach towel, head to Coffee, Books, and More for an iced coffee, a snack, and a book or two, and then down to the beaches in South Cove and stay for a while.

This is a real page-turner of a whodunit! A visitor to South Cove, Nan Gunter is murdered. The main character, Jill Gardner who is the owner of Coffee, Books and More, and her significant other, Detective Greg King meet the murder victim and her husband Steve at a local paint-and-sip event. Nan and Steve both over imbibe and the studio owner Meredith Cole's husband Neal offers to drive the inebriated couple back to the B & B where they are staying. Nan is later found dead at the art studio where the paint-and-sip event was held. Jill feels she has to try to identify the murderer because her friend Esmeralda is the prime suspect in the murder investigation and Jill knows Esmeralda would never murder anyone.

I loved all the twists and turns in Jill's investigation and that she shares what she discovers with Greg. I also loved that Greg is supportive but protective. I also think all the mentions of ARCs (Advanced Reader Copy) of books from publicists in New York is fun to have included in the story. Picture Perfect Frame is the twelfth book in Lynn Cahoon's Tourist Trap Mystery series and I look forward to reading more books in the series.

I received a copy of Picture Perfect Frame through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Picture Perfect Frame is the 12th installment of the Tourist Trap Mystery series and focuses on a murder of a tourist visiting South Cove. Jill Gardner, owner of Coffee, Books and More and amateur sleuth, finds herself on the search for another murderer. This time around, all signs are pointing to Esmeralda, Jill's neighbor and friend, and Jill wants to make sure that her name is cleared.

I am a big fan of the Tourist Trap Mystery series and have read all of the installments in this series. This mystery was just as fun as all of the others, with the fun atmosphere of South Cove, the inviting characters and the twisting mystery. I am used to Jill being right in the middle of the investigation, but this time she was kind of on the sidelines which I didn't like as much. It was still a good mystery and a fun read, but not exactly what I would expect from Jill. This cozy mystery is definitely worth a read, but beware, the cliffhanger ending may leave you wanting more!

I just completed Perfect Picture Frame (A Tourist Trap Mystery) by Lynn Cahoon and enjoyed it very much. It is a great example of what a good cozy should be: it features a smart and likable lead character (Jill Gardner), a reasonable number of viable suspects and a host of other subplots that muddy the waters. Jill and her detective, boyfriend Greg share a mature relationship that is based on love and respect, enough so that Jill didn’t go running headfirst into dangerous situations; she willingly shares any information she finds with him. My only real complaint centers around Jill’s best friend and bridezilla, Amy, whose behavior got a bit tiring. I am glad that story line was brought to a close.

This is a solid entry in an entertaining series. One thing I especially enjoy about this series is that there is a chronology to the books and the characters, and their lives and relationships evolve over the course of the series.

This is a very quick reading and enjoyable book and I strongly recommend it to those who enjoy cozy, small town mysteries. The town of South Cove, California was a pleasant place to visit, especially in depths of winter. I picked it up looking for a fun diversion and that is what I received. Four and a half stars.

I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions stated are solely my own.

I always enjoy a visit with Jill Gardner and the team at Coffee, Books, and More in beachy South Cove, California. Author Lynn Cahoon creates a savvy cast of supporting characters I enjoy getting to know better with each installment of the Tourist Trap series.

Resident woo-woo person, Esmerelda, has serious problems in book twelve when she’s accused of murder. A compelling list of suspects offer readers plenty of clues to mull and decipher as to who the real killer is by the story’s conclusion. The reveal is an eye-opener.

I did tire of the Amy/Justin pre-wedding shenanigans. Parts of the story dragged for me. I reviewed the story as 3.5 Stars and rounded up to 4.0 Stars. A delicious recipe is included.

I honestly reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. All opinions are my own. Thank you.

It's unusual to find a mystery set around St. Patrick's day which drew my interest even though I'd already enjoyed the Tourist Trap series. Combine that with murder, wedding, a great setting, and interesting characters and you have another winner.
