I love a book that dives in to tackle things people don't talk about, and Don't Miss Out does just that! Too often as Christians, we discount the Holy Spirit. We consider it like an add-on, like ketchup for fries, as Cunnion describes. But the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity, equal to the other two parts of God and Jesus.

This book challenges the reader to see the role of the Holy Spirit in her life, to embrace the way that she can draw closer to Jesus and live life to the fullest with the Holy Spirit.

Don't Miss Out by Jeannie Cunnion had me wanting to study more about the power of the Holy Spirit in my life. As a Christian, I've known about the presence and purpose of the Holy Spirit, but this book used lots of scripture to help dig deeper. As I was reading I found myself wishing I had a hard copy to highlight and take notes in. This is one I would absolutely recommend.

Thank you NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers for this gifted copy. Thoughts and opinions are all my own.

I learned so much about the Holy Spirit through Don't Miss Out! I think Christians often forget that the third part of Trinity is there to help us as we face our daily lives. The book reminds us that he is our assistant and helper. I loved that each chapter is short and describes characteristic of the Holy Spirit and the author gives a personal testimony of that characteristic. The chapter ends with verses to read and I think it would make a great devotional. It is not written as a theology book, but is based on Truth and made to be used as a personal growth tool.
I received a complimentary copy of Don't Miss Out, but all opinions are my own.

Don't Miss Out: Daring to Believe Life is Better with the Holy Spirit by Jeannie Cunnion

"...most Christians acknowledge the existence of the Holy Spirit, but avoid and experience of Him, therefore missing out on the enjoyment He offers and the very real power He provides."

As humans, he cannot fully comprehend the Holy Spirit. We cannot fully understand how God is three persons in one. It's been a question through out all of church history.

The Holy Spirit is grossly misunderstood and neglected. Even though the Bible tells us His roll and His character, many times we still don't get it.

This book doesn't answer all the questions because Jeannie Cunnion is a human and has a finite mind, but she does bring to light what the Bible says about The Holy Spirit. She breaks things down in a way that is helpful and easy to understand. She takes one characteristic at a time and explains it according to scripture and what ways we misinterpret what the Bible says.

This isn't a '5 steps to hearing the Spirit' book. It's a 'getting to know you' book, about who God says His Spirit is.

Some.of the chapter titles are:
1.He is to our advantage
4. He is God
5. He is a person
9. He makes much of Jesus
21. He empowers us to obey
28. He can be quenched.

Reading this book gave me a clearer understanding of The Holy Spirit and His roll in the Trinity and my life. With this knowledge I can read God's word in a different light, live knowing that God and The Spirit are in communication with me. He is working in my to make me more like Jesus. He is "making Jesus more beautiful to (me)."

This is a book, in my opinion, every professing believer needs to read, man and woman, because every believer has the Holy Spirit inside of them and many times has no idea what His role is or why He was give to us as a gift.

The copy of the book I have is a review copy I received for free. But I plan on getting the physical book. I highlighted so much and would have written notes all throughout the book.

If you are curious or have no idea who the Holy Spirit is, you need this book. If your life is a mess and you need help, you need this book.

I throughly enjoyed this and thought it was a great book. I think I would have liked it better if it was in my hands physically - but that’s just a me thing in general. It seems more interactive and I think it’s easier for me to hold. Regardless, I loved it from the cover to the end and will 100% be recommending this to others.

Don’t Miss Out is packed with many truths about the Holy Spirit. It was good information, but felt off in the structure in set-up. Each chapter felt like it could be it’s own podcast or blog post. I also listened to the audio version to see if that changed my perception. The narrator sounded older than Jeannie and that made it feel more like a motherly figure talking to me than a friend sharing wisdom.

Don’t Miss Out by Jeannie Cunnion is an important book for believers. I was so happy to see the topic of this book because I have not seen many books on this topic lately. This book— it’s amazing. Ms Cunnion treats this topic well and explains the vital role of the Holy Spirit. So good and so important for us to remember. The Holy Spirit is a game changer in our Christian walk. This book helps explain why. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

"Don't Miss Out", by Jeannie Cunnion, is all about the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has always been a rather nebulous, mysterious concept to me. However, Cunnion does a good job of describing who He is, what He does, and the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your steps. Using personal anecdotes and passages from Scriptures, the author does a good job of explaining the work and person of the Holy Spirit.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I know about the Holy Spirit, but reviewing who the Holy Spirit is, and how he works in my life, and how I can trust him was just what I needed. I appreciate how the author wove scripture, life, and other teachings on the Holy Spirit throughout the whole book.

I also appreciated the way each chapter ended with a 'last but not least' section that had a question or two to reflect on, and a response. Simple yet pulled together my thoughts and left me challenged with each chapter I read.

The book has 30 succinct and easy-to-read chapters, that left me wanting to read on. I found the book theologically accurate, helped me pursue a mindset the reflects who the Holy Spirit is in all his facets, and how much I miss when I don't allow him to work in my heart, mind, and soul. I highlighted many concepts.

I appreciated the author's self-reflection, honesty, and even sense of humor in her transparent sharing of her experience and growth. Thankful to partner with NetGalley and Bethany House publishers and read an advanced copy.

I have been to several churches and seen extremes when it comes to the Holy Spirit - from non-existence to excessive emphasis on the miraculous. This is such a divisive topic that I've always tended to shy away from it.
But recently I've been led to read more about Him, and this book did not disappoint!
Here are some reasons I loved it:
- it's accessible and relatable, with great examples and simple vocabulary, making for an easy read, but that doesn't mean there is no depth to this book ! The content is there, and is well researched, pointing back to Scripture.
- it doesn't shy away from the more difficult topics, the ones that I've experienced to be very divisive, but handles this beautifully, always referencing Scripture
- The structure of the book is great! The chapters are short and end with a smal section, "Last but not least", inviting the reader to reflect about their life, to dig deeper in Scripture, or apply what has been taught in that chapter.

Thanks to Bethany House for the free review copy.
This book is a book that I didn't know I needed. I didn't realize how lacking my knowledge of the Spirit was, and I am so thankful that Cunnion decided to write this book. I learned so much about the Holy Spirit. I had some of my confusions and misconceptions about the Spirit answered, too. I liked how each chapter was on the shorter side. The writing was concise, yet it packed so much rich theology in and just made me feel closer to the Spirit while reading. I also liked the two questions at the end. They made me think without being overwhelmed. This is a book that I feel like all Christian women would benefit from, and I hope it gets into the hands of the women who need it. If you want to know more about the Holy Spirit, I cannot recommend this book enough.

I've been a fan of Jeannie Cunnion for a while, so I was excited to pick up her latest book "Don't Miss Out: Daring to Believe Life is Better with the Holy Spirit." For many believers, the Holy Spirit seems too elusive or mysterious. Yet, life is better with the Holy Spirit as Cunnion suggests. In the book, she helps readers discover who the Holy Spirit is and what His role is in our lives. She helps readers rejoice in the beauty of who God is and how he empowers His people through His indwelling Spirit. She does so with love, grace, and her trademark style of passion mixed with humility. You'll feel like you're having coffee with a friend.

One of the most helpful things Cunnion does--besides including real-life stories to help readers see how things play out in the nitty gritty of life--is include a "Last but Not Least" exercise at the end of each chapter. Cunnion wants readers to connect with each particular aspect or benefit of the Holy Spirit from that chapter, so she gives readers a chance to pause, reflect, practice, and even discuss with others. Basically, she makes it practical. For example, in chapter 15, "He is the Spirit of Truth," there's a section to reflect on when the Holy Spirit has brought to mind at just the right time, truth stored in your heart. The she leads the reader to respond by committing to hide more Scriputre in their heart for the Holy Spirit to bring to mind when it's needed.

If you've ever wondered about who the Holy Spirit is, what His purpose is, and how you can live abundant life by living surrendered to the Spirit, this practical, helpful book is just what you need. Cunnion's down-to-earth, conversational style helps you digest some of the most simple and yet profound truths of the Word. Study this alongside your copy of God's Word, and you'll find your eyes opened to exciting new possibilites of life in the Spirit. I highly recommend this resource.

Note: I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for this honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Something about the tone/writing style just didn't work for me. It's a little too girl-next-door, in my opinion. I also struggled to want to keep reading, as it isn't a devotional but also doesn't all flow together. Each chapter totally stands on it's own and is about 5 pages in length. I don't know of another book with a good "overview" of the character of the Holy Spirit, but wish this had been structured differently.

This book was full of great information. Definitely the type of book I would enjoy listening to while I am working around the house. Full of things to chew through.

Don't Miss Out details examples of how to incorporate the Holy Spirit into your everyday life to achieve more peaceful and happy experiences in the face of hardship or uncertainty.

This was an interesting take on the Holy Spirit! I felt interested to learn more about how people interpret it as I felt I didn't learn too much about it at school.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
