I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Very funky art done with a few colours, the entire book is illustrated with red, black and white, very neat. Also, bonus point for a rhyming book, making it easy to read to kids. But awww, why not dogs? Dogs are simply the best. |

I loved this book. For a start, I am a huge fan of illustrations using few colours. This book uses red, white and black, in different patterns, to create a variety of effects for the different types of dog. This, and the accompanying rhyming text, help make this book really appealing. The twist at the end was great too! |
This is a picture book all about dogs and the funny things that they do. I really enjoyed the artwork here, the colors really help it pop! The dogs are all unique and you can spot different breeds throughout the book easily, thanks to the great art style. There are honestly some pages I would love to have framed on a wall somewhere since they're so eye-poppy! Thank you to NetGalley for providing an early copy in exchange for an honest review! |
With high contrast illustrations and a simple rhyming cadence, this story celebrates dogs and perhaps even cats. I think children will find this a fun read! |
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of We Want a Dog. I love dogs so I was so excited when my request was approved. This was incredibly sweet, the rhymes are clever and the illustrations are cute. This is a great book for any child, especially one who adores dogs or any animal. The Kindle version is poorly formatted and doesn't do this book justice. |
Who wants a dog?? This is the cutest book for anyone that wants to have a dog. The colors used are brilliant on the page. The reds, blacks, grays, and white make the pages pop!! Each dog is wonderful in talking about the reasons why you should get a pet. I would recommend this book to a classroom library or a bedtime story. |
