Love these samplers. Exposes me to books I maybe didn’t have on my radar and gives a taste of writing styles

This is the sampler that introduced me to Joanna Schaffhausen, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have found this author's books. Because of this one, I also found Mary Dixie Carter. I really enjoyed The Photographer. I was even interested in checking out the others in this sampler. Even though I ultimately did not read all of them, I appreciated the chance to try them out - maybe in the future, I might return to them if my tastes change. If you see these samplers, I highly recommend requesting them. It is great that the publisher offers them to readers.

Since it was a sampler, the stories started and left you wanting more. Unfortunately, they offered too many titles to sample with no resolution.

I only read to completion 3 of 5 the five and they were all so excellent.
Thief of Souls was one of my favorite books of 2021. It was such a unique view of China, the mystery was gripping, and the writing was incredible.
The Photographer was an excellent, twisty thriller with lots of neat unique details about photography as a business while interacting with the creepiest, stalker professional photographer around.
And The Girl Who Died was SO interesting. I will definitely read more from this author. Books set in Iceland is so unique (at least written in English) and the mystery was so chilling and creepy, I really felt like I was living in this isolated village.
Overall, I love Minotaur as a whole. I think their book choices are almost always great and they do a lot of series authors, which I really enjoy. I’d read more from any of these authors anytime.

I absolutely love these samplers. More often than not, I end up wanting and reading all the books included. There is just enough of each book to make you want to read more. Thank you, St. Martin's Minotaur!

I just finished reading Thief of Souls and A Peculiar Combination
Both are outstanding
Thief of Souls takes us deep into contemporary China--the detective is interesting and I look forward to the next one in the series
A Peculiar Combination is one of those books we hate to see end--these characters--a family of safe crackers who are recruited as spies during WW2 in England--one of the best books I have read this year--a fine balance of humor, serious stuff, a good puzzle in the mystery (spy and mystery) and a bit of romance--Electra McDonnell is one of my new favorite heroines and I am hoping that the author is hard at work on the next one in the series.
These are short since both of these are archived already and in fact, available at the library and in bookstores

Looking for a mystery or a thriller? Don’t want to buy a book, then find out it’s not to your liking? I would recommend this terrific sampler of books. It gives decent samples from five different books to read. It was to my surprise That I now want to read all five books. The samplers have made me desire to know what happens. When I get these books, I will go to my special reading spot to read and not be disturbed. The mysteries and thrillers are excellently written. Don’t miss out!

If you are looking for some recently published mysteries/thrillers, this sample should definitely be up your alley! Sampling a few chapters from each of five new novels is great fun and leads to adding even more books to my TBR list! I especially enjoyed the excerpts from The Photographer and The Girl Who Died.

The Minotaur Sampler provides excerpts for several excellent thrillers. Gone for Good might be my favorite of the batch. The Girl Who Died is a close second, while The Photographer has also made it's way to my TBR. Highly recommended!

This was the first sampler package I’ve read and I really enjoyed it! I have already read The Girl Who Died which was amazing. I mainly requested this sampler for Gone For Good. I’ve been interested in that one and now I know I definitely need to get it! Such a great way to be introduced to a few books from the publisher. Thank you for the opportunity to read it!
