Murder by Page One is anther fantastic start to a cozy series. Olivia Matthews writes relatable characters and the was no exception, I enjoyed reading more about Marvey and her new friends as well as seeing which bookish themed jewelry she would create next, and, of course, who is a murderer.

I liked the library being the center of the town's activity as well as the hub for Marvey and her co-workers as they try to solve a mystery.

The pacing is on the slow and meandering side, which I think is deliberate to mirror the pace of life in Peach Coast compared to Marvey's native NYC. About halfway through I switched to 1.5 speed to move things along. The focus of this book is more on introducing us to Marvey, her friends, and the various townsfolk who will mostly likely be recurring characters.

I had a few minor quibbles, mostly on hardware details. The murder weapon is revealed to be a "curved, 8 inch blade" and the bookstore owner immediately says that's like the box cutters they used and one is missing. YIKES! What kind of ninja machete work does this business require to open boxes of books?? Also someone is suspected of loosening screws on a piece of furniture because he is a handyman and would know how to use the tools. That doesn't seem like a master craftsman level skill to me.

I loved Marvey's custom book cover jewelry and found myself googling the various book covers as she mentioned them. Overall, Olivia Matthews is a very detailed descriptor who paints a very precise picture of who is in a scene, what they are wearing and how they move.

I liked Marvey and her neighbors in Peach Coast. I look forward to more from this series; I hope her family comes down from NYC for a visit soon!

I also liked the narrator of the audiobook a lot as well. She does an excellent job with both the male and female voices.

Cozy mysteries aren't usually my favorite but because this was set in a Library, I decided to give it a try. This was relatively boring. Other cozies I have read, are pretty tame, but still have exciting parts. Nothing really happened in this book. And the killer was pretty obvious.

This is the first book in the A Peach Coast Library Mystery Series. The is a cute and clean cozy mystery. The storyline is well written, and intriguing. I liked the cast of characters. Janina Edwards did a good job with the narration.

Murder by Page One by Olivia Matthews is a great book and beginning to new series. I so loved how the author wrote vivid imagery and great details. The added humor was a plus, the character were well done. I fell in love with the store Well Read in this book. Kudos to the author for the twists and not letting me guess the killer. I really enjoyed this book. Janina Edwards was great bringing the characters to life with her voice and appreciated the distinguishable voices for the them. Thank you #NetGalley and #Dreamscape Media for allowing me to review this book.

What’s not to love about a mystery that has to be solved by a librarian? In the first in the Peach Cove Library Mystery series, readers meet Marvey, a librarian transplanted from NYC to the South. The characters are likable, the mystery interesting, and the audiobook narrator has a voice that I could listen to all day long! I am looking forward to future installments of this series!

This was a good start to a series but still needs to sort out who the characters truly are. I felt it rambled at times and was a little choppy. I do love libraries and books so I'm willing to come back for more.
The narrator was lacking in distinguishing between characters which made it harder to discern who was who, this definitely impacted my enjoyment of this book.

This was a fun start to a new cozy mystery series. I really love the cast of characters especially our amateur sleuth Marley, Phoenix, and Spence. I thought that the mystery was good, but I wanted a little more amateur sleuthing. And I didn’t love that the focus was on finding other suspects instead of solving the murder. If you’re going to meddle, meddle big! I love books about libraries or librarians and this was no exception. I loved that Marvey asked everyone she met if they had a library card. I will definitely read more in this series when they come. Marvey goes to her friend Jo’s bookstore for a book signing by serval local authors, but before the event can start they discover one of the authors. Fiona, was murdered. Jo becomes the sole focus of the deputies because it was her store, but Marvey is certain her friend is innocent.

Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the audio book because I did not like the reader's voice. At some point, I may give the print book a chance since I loved the description and was really looking forward to reading it.

the main character in this book, Marvella Harris, has moved to Peach Coast, Georgia to be the new Director of Community Engagement at the library. The locals are a bit standoffish and her lack of understanding of the local expressions has her feeling that she is in a foreign country and requires a translated. Another new resident, Jolene Gomez, the bookstore owner, is holding a book signing for local authors. When one of the authors is found stabbed to death in the storage room, Jolene is the chief suspect and Marvy promises her new friend to find out who the real murderer is.

I'm not really sure what to say about this book. It didn't seem to have a definite direction. It rambled at times and the characters were missing s sense of reality.

With the audio version it was difficult to keep track of which character was speaking - the narrator didn't seem change voice clearly.

I thought this was a good start for a new cozy mystery series. It feels like the author is still getting to know these characters so it didn't flow as nice as I would have liked. I liked it enough though to give this series another try and see if the characters lead fuller lives.

I received an e-ARC of this book by the author and publishing via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Filled with southern charm this cozy murder mystery set in Peach Coast, Georgia and is a great poolside or beach read. Just make sure you have a tall glass of iced sweet tea or a mocha and a serving of peach cobbler, the amateur detective makes a daily stop in the local pastry shop on her way to her job at the local library, she's also obsessed with chocolate covered peanuts. Marvella "Marvy" Harris is new in town after taking her dream job at the library. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, after 4 months she is still adjusting to the slow pace of live in her new home. She's learning a new language too: Coke covers all carbonated beverages, sneekers is most casual footwear, gentleman open doors for ladies, ladies names are prefaced with "Miss", and the locals speak slowly and take the long way to get to their point. Marvy is a bit of a fish out of water, but she's making friends and settling in very nicely.

Then one morning, during a book signing event at the bookstore owned by her friend Jolene "Jo" Gomez, she discovers that one of the local authors participating in the the event has been murdered in the back room of the bookstore. Jo is the main suspect, but Marvy and their friend Spencer know that she didn't do it. The local police, not used to handling a murder investigation, are unwilling to consider any other suspects, so Jo, Spencer and Marvy take matters in their own hands to find out who really murdered a very promising new writer.

Filled with a lot of colorful local residents, and typical of a small town, there are lots of rivalries and gossip, Marvy, Spencer and Jo make the best of local knowledge and investigate the background of the victim, in an effort to figure out who had a motive to murder her. The murderer is identified and justice is served in a satisfying light read. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

A good start
Besides being a cozy, amateur sleuth, "clean" mystery, the fact that Marvey is a librarian caught my attention and interest. She is a transplant to Georgia from the true north, In ways it is like she is on another planet. She has to learn about her community and customers, learn how to interpret what they tell her. I always enjoy a good Southern turn of phrase.
Interpretation becomes very important when Marvey begins investigating a murder to prove her friend innocent. Once the cops have a viable suspect, very little effort goes into seeking truth.

Fiction imitating life seems to be the plot, but could the reverse also be possible?
Along with murder, someone trying to warn Marvey off, many references to food, especially peaches, and friendship, there is another interesting story line about Marvey's cat. I have to say I wished we could have moved that part of the book along more quickly. I was worried!
Oh, and as with all things municipal, whether big city or small town, budgets and politics need to be heard, want to get involved.

Great characters, a solid mystery. and room to grow for this series.
Hallmark fans will not be disappointed

Murder by Page One by Olivia Matthews is a fun cozy mystery with engaging characters and a lot of great book puns and a cat! Some of my favorite things! The story is about Marvella, who moved to Peach Coast, Georgia from New York. When an author is killed in the store room at her good friend Jo's bookstore, Marvy and her friends from the library set out to prove that Jo is innocent. As they ask around town and try to dig for information, they find more questions than answers. Then, when threats start coming her way, things really heat up. I kept guessing right up until the end and the person I thought did it was not the one! I got to listen to the audiobook version and I quite enjoyed it! Thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to listen to this story. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. I found myself automatically drawn to the supporting characters a bit more than Marvey but i do believe she will grow on me. I loved the setting and the food descriptions were constantly making my mouth water. The whodunit was pretty straightforward and I saw that coming from a mile away. But otherwise, I really enjoyed the fast paced narration and was the perfect thing to listen to while at work.
