This is my favorite Sandie Jones book yet, so many secrets, so many lies, who knows what to believe! Rachel and Jack are married and good friends with Noah and Paige, who are also married. And, Noah and Rachel are best friends from college. And, both couples are invited to Will and Ali's destination wedding since Will is Jack's brother. Got all that so far? You believe what you are told and then you don't and then you do again. What a rollercoaster, what a ride!

The Guilt Trip is a weekend getaway to enjoy during your weekend getaway! Protagonist Rachel and her husband are joining her brother in law Will, his fiancée Ali, and mutual couple friends Noah and Paige at a gorgeous villa in Portugal for a destination wedding. Accusations fly and the group dynamic begins to change. Will Ali and Will make it down the aisle? The story simultaneously earns 5 stars for campy enjoyment and 3 stars for stereotypes and predictability (which honestly made it soap-opera-esque and therefore that much more enjoyable) - but the last second twist in the epilogue has me shaking my head. She got me! Thanks so much to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #TheGuiltTrip by Sandie Jones. I loved it and am already looking forward to her next release!

The description of this book drew me in...a wedding, beautiful location, murder. There was quite a bit going on in this book. Lots of unexpected surprises along the way. I wouldn't say this was a quick read for me, as I really had to focus to understand everything going on with the characters in the story. But, I did enjoy it and look forward to more books by Sandie Jones.

Unfortunately, this one missed the mark for me. The dialogue seemed like it needed a little more editing and the drama came off as juvenile. I didn’t particularly care for any of the characters and found it repetitive.

I hear the author’s other books are good, so I’ll definitely give them a try!

This was fun brain candy. That is all. Lots of twists and turns. Who is having an affair with whom. Who is lying? Rachel is naive and rather dumb. Ali is ridiculous. Paige is a witch. Jack seems like a dud- don’t get the attraction. The ending definitely had me scratching my head.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I DNF'd this book at about the 25% mark. I honestly couldn't stand any of the characters. I was just so frustrated with how everyone was acting that it wasn't worth my time to keep reading. Sorry, this was a dud for me.

The Guilt Trip by Sandie Jones is part drama, part mystery, and all remote, destination wedding. Who doesn't enjoy a story steeped in claustrophobia and atmospheric writing? I sure do, and this one doesn't disappoint.

This was a DNF for me, about halfway through. I just could not get invested in any of the characters. Every single one of them is wholly unlikable, and while that normally isn't an issue for me, there was nothing else in the story for me to hold on to to keep me reading. Eventually I started skimming pages, hoping to pick up somewhere that would spark my attention, but I never got there. I was so disinterested in the characters that it was hard to care if anything happened to them.

When I saw it was set in Portugal I was PSYCHED, hoping for vivid descriptions of the locations they visited. That was lacking also, and it felt like they could have been on the coast of Portugal, the coast of California, or the coast of Mars. Maybe one day I will go back and pick this up, finish the book and update my review, but sadly, this was not for me, at least not at this moment.

I enjoyed this one by Sandie Jones. I would give it a 4.5 stars out of 5. The story keep me on my toes. I would recommend this one

I was so disappointed in this latest book by Sandie Jones. I felt like I was reading a soap opera. I had pretty much figured out what was going on and who was “doing” whom within the first couple of chapters. The shocking ending came out of left field and I couldn’t believe the way the author left things hanging as I read the last page. Because I’ve enjoyed her previous books, I will give her another chance to wow me with her next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I struggled a bit with this book. It has the typical set up for a mystery/thriller where everyone starts as friends, something bad happens, and then you’re not sure who to trust. I enjoyed parts of that. I didn’t connect well with the characters, however, and struggled to stay interested at times. That said, a couple of my high school students really enjoyed the story line and the book in general!

I have loved everything Sandie Jones has written before this. I did really like this one, but the ending felt rushed and confusing. I still feel confused. I don't know if Rachel was supposed to be a likeable character, but I didn't really like her at all. I didn't really like any of them to be honest. The book thoroughly hooked me for about 80% of it, then it started feeling like it was dragging on.

Three couples travel to Portugal for the gorgeous destination wedding of Will and Ali. Tensions run high as it seems that everyone except Will do not care for Ali, the soon to be wife. Suspicions come to a head at what was meant to be the wedding weekend of the century.

Secrets and drama are jam packed in this entertaining read. A definite page-turning summer thriller and enjoyable even though some things felt a little far-fetched. Did not necessarily relate to any of the characters in the story and wouldn’t want to be a guest at that wedding, but if you are looking for a dramatic soap opera like book, I’d definitely recommend this one!

Thank you St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for my arc in exchange for an honest review!

The premise for the Guilt Trip by Sandie Jones lured me in immediately - seemingly star crossed crushes that are thrown in each other’s path years later at a destination wedding. Sign me up! However, I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. And, I didn’t quite get the ending.

Sorry for the delay in the review, but I have been pondering what to say.

Sandie Jones is becoming a favorite author for me. I really enjoyed this story and was engaged throughout the novel. I wasn't able to figure out the twist in the end. I hope everyone gives this book a chance and then checks out all her other novels.

This book could have been about 50 pages shorter. Very soap-operaish. Lots of friend drama and affairs in a supposed tight knit group of friends. I usually really like Sandie Jones but this one sort of fell flat for me.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publishers for this ARC.

Sandie Jones is the queen of twisty suspense novels, and this one is no different. So good! I read it in one sitting.
