I really enjoyed this one. The stories were not what I expected, but I enjoyed it all the some. I loved the language part of the book. 3.5

I was fascinated by this book and it was great to meet a First Nation tribe, it's culture and language.
The language was the most fascinating part and I think this is an excellent book.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This was a really interesting book to read and I enjoyed learning more about the Anshinaabe. I have heard previously about the loss of language and impact on various First Nations tribes and I think that makes this bilingual book an important one to raise awareness and as a record for the language. The stories were not necessarily what I was expecting as most were recollections of what seem from the outside to be arbitrary memories, but that’s part of its value in showing ordinary moments.
