I am the first to admit, I am not an avid cyclist. I am part of a family who love to ride, and I enjoy living vicariously through them. Images, photos, and descriptions tell of trails all over the world. I especially enjoyed the tips provided, such as look-out points, sightseeing and places to visit. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

This would be a really great coffee table book. Not a lot of depth in the writing, but the photos are gorgeous and fun to look at.

During this pandemic, I really miss traveling more than anything else. Ride made me long for the days when we can get out and enjoy nature again. This book has bike routes on six of the seven continents, and although I’m not likely to rush to bike from Pakistan to China or the North to South route through Africa anytime soon, just reading about those routes and what awaits those that do was interesting. The pictures are nice too.

For most readers, the routes for the US, Europe, and maybe Australia are the most “doable” if that makes sense. The book offers the reader not only routes and highlights, but skill level and elevations as well. Nothing very detailed, but a good place to start.

In the last century, I had a friend from Japan who had a collapsible bike and traveled the world doing this very thing-biking through various countries. He had wonderful stories and adventures and this book makes me want to have adventures like that.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and the author for an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This makes for an excellent coffee table book. The “wish I was a cyclist” in me was thrilled about the routes and destinations throughout the book. It’s not super in-depth, but not everything has to be!

If you’re a rider, this is for you !

Different looking routes around the world. On map a basic route line (point a to b). Some information about the route and what you may experience. Not really in-depth. Most are just a page of information and some pictures.

As someone who enjoys cycling, this book made me long to be on my bike in a faraway land! The expanse of short and long rides in beautiful scenic spots across the globe that are mapped out in this book with gorgeous pictures, tips, and tricks are incredible. I would highly recommend Ride to anyone interested in cycling.
