Inside the tornado follows a family on a tornado hunt. It's both engaging and educational. It will be a great book for kids who are curious about storms and may even inspire some to want to continue studying weather.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This book has a fun story that sets up the drama and intenseness of a tornado. The comic book set-up is engaging for kids. After the story there are facts and information about tornados. Nicely organized.

I wish I had this growing up! I live in Nebraska, so tornados are a common thing to me. I have always loved tornados and been fascinated by them. I really enjoyed this book and thought it was informational, easy to read and a fun book for children. I loved the meet the warriors page and the glossary at the end. It was a great book with fun illustrations.

Factual information presented in a way that will engage kids and keep their attention, plus it’s written in a way children can understand. I appreciate that this book clearly explains different tornado types and how/when they appear in a way that makes sense for kids and those unfamiliar with this topic.

Learn About Tornadoes in a Graphic Novel

This is a fun and educational graphic novel that details the story of a family of storm chasers. Actually, it's only Mom who has a history of storm chasing; she writes about tornadoes. In the story, she, her husband, and three children are looking for and following tornadoes together. Along the way, Mom passes along a lot of information about tornadoes, how to stay safe around them, and how to help others who have been impacted. The book ends with a page providing more details about tornadoes and a glossary of terms. Not living in a place where tornadoes are an issue—though I’ve seen a few small waterspouts in my life—I found information about them fascinating to read. If you have a child with an interest in science or weather, she or he may very well enjoy this book.

The art style isn't something I'd usually pick up, however the concept was really cool and it was still a cute lil read

This book follows a family as they track tornados and learn about them. I love the concept of this book which is learning about the weather in a form of a story. The family discuss things like tornado damage and the average size of the tornado. After the story ends there is a couple of illustrations explaining how a tornado works and there is also a glossary of the weather terms. I do think the illustrations could be better.

Thanks to Netgalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my review.

Cool concept, and I actually just reviewed the blizzard edition where I said it would be a good idea to have a series of weather situations and I suppose that is the plan! So, similar situation here, the characters encounter severe weather and learn about the science behind tornadoes. It’s short, to the point, and informative. I’m just not sure how I feel about some of the illustrations. Some seem like they could use another go.
