Retired Boston Police Detective Sean Casper has packed up and moved to a lovely Irish Island. His marriage dissolved after his son died from an accidental Overdose.

After only a few days he comes across a mutilated lamb displayed in the cemetery. When his curiosity gets the better of him, he discovers there has been several instances where animals were brutally killed and left on display. These cases also led to the death of a young girl twenty years earlier. This murder has been the island's only recorded pattern and Casper senses that a serial killer is loose on the island.

So why does no one want to talk about the girl .. or the animals? There are only 600 residents and one of them is a killer. Does no one care? What secrets are the islanders hiding?

He may be retired, but he's poking his nose into someone's business ... and the closer he gets to the truth, the more personal danger he experiences.

This is well-written, action-packed, a page turner from start to finish. The complex plot is filled with stand-out characters, some of them secretive islanders. Throw in a bit of drug smuggling and the suspense maintains a high level until the final unexpected conclusion.
