Overall, I liked "Last Girl Ghosted," though it dragged in parts, and it took me ages to read it. It was very dark, and a good creepy October read.

There were some parts that could have been bette, or at least better-explained. Imaginary friend Robin, for example. She seemed such an unnecessary component to the story. Did she add anything? Not really. I was hoping there would be a huge twist involving her, and that it would turn out she was the ghost of Emily, or a child from Wren's past that turned out to be real. Missed opportunity there.

I like reading books that make me scratch my head, especially when the questions are all answered in the end. But this one did not answer all of the questions.

I like Lisa Unger's writing and have enjoyed her work in the past -- but this one was somewhat of a miss for me.

I went into reading this one with high hopes seeing it all over Bookstagram and sadly it fell short for me. In the beginning I was really enjoying it but then about halfway through it just fell apart and started getting repetitive and felt a lot of it could have been left out and a lot shorter. I felt Wren was a bit desperate when it came to finding out who Adam truly was. I will say this was a very quick read for me but like I said I was disappointed and was hoping for more.

Wren meets the perfect man through social media. Until he ghosts. She quickly realizes she’s not the only one looking for him.

I like social media thrillers, but I’m not sure id categorize this as such. It was more of a straight up mystery. It was definitely unique and interesting, with some loveable characters. The “bad guy” character felt a little cliched to me and I didn’t really understand motives or the why of the matter, but it was still an entertaining read.

“Over the last few days - few days?- you have been lover, leaver, mystery, demon. You have been a wraith, slipping Way and back through whatever shadowy doorway you used to enter my life.”

This is one of my favorite authors to read. I really enjoyed the plot twists, and the storyline in general for this book. I had a general idea where the story might be headed, but I wasn't completely convinced. I also loved how the author wove COVID, and other recent events, into the story.
The story follows a young woman named Wren, and cycles back and forth between her childhood and her present life as a young adult. Wren is convinced to join an online dating app by her best girlfriend, and she ends up meeting the man she thinks is the one; until he ghosts her. She refuses to let him ghost her though, so she sets out to find him, but is that really the best idea?!

Boy, is this a book for the times. Lisa Unger always writes exciting psychological thrillers, but she’s really outdone herself this time. Wren thinks she’s found the perfect man through an online dating service, but then he disappears and along with him, so does his online presence and his phone is disconnected. Then a private investigator comes looking for him. A client’s daughter has disappeared, and they think Wren’s boyfriend is involved. He may also be involved in the disappearance of several other girls. And yet, I felt this book took on so many different issues, it never really dealt well with all of them. Readers will enjoy it, but I wonder how many, like me, are left wondering at the decision Wren made about her baby at the end is realistic.

This was such a good page turner. I definitely didn't know how this story was going to end. If you read Lisa Unger's other books, then you will enjoy this one.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF this book. The protagonist was incredibly annoying and whiny. I did not like the over-descriptions (not needed with a psychological thriller) or the inner dialogue she had throughout the book. I stopped at 37% because at that point, I was not interested in how the story concluded.

I can highly recommend this novel anyone who likes well written mystery or thrillers. Unger does a great job of writing well developed characters. I found the plot wonderfully believable but filled with twists that kept me reading late into the night!

After reading Unger’s book “Confessions on the 7:45”, I couldn’t hold back from devouring this book. While definitely different, Unger’s ability to grip her audience managed to carry over.

In “Last Girl Ghosted”, Unger depicts the dangers that can arise from online dating apps, terrifying readers about the potential of stalkers, murderers, manipulators, and those who present themselves as normal, yet are anything but.

I did enjoy this one, but I kept wishing the main character would stop making stupid decisions. And I don’t even mean the choice to meet up with someone online – that’s how I met my husband. There are other choices made that she even acknowledges as stupid in the moment and could fix, but chooses not to. Additionally, I was able to predict the ending, as the book clearly led there the entire time.

This was a good read, but not my favorite thriller or even my favorite by Unger.

Fast-paced mystery thriller with many layers and an intriguing plot.

When Wren Greenwood takes the advice of her friend, Jax, and sets up an online dating profile on Torch, she never expects much to come of it. Next, she matches with Adam Harper. They have an instant connection, see each other everyday, and Wren is falling hard. Then he stands her up for a dinner date...she’s been ghosted. His last message sounds like something has happened, and she can’t imagine what chasing him down is going to involve, but she can’t leave it alone. No spoilers.

The narrative, told from different points of view in a then and now format, reveals that there have been other girls who were involved with the man Wren knows as Adam — and now they are missing. All have some sort of tragic past that apparently made them vulnerable to this guy. Is he one of those lonely hearts con men, or is there something much deeper involved?

I enjoyed this novel even though I’m not a huge fan of long backstory and flip flopping story lines. If half stars were available, I would rate this 3.5 so rounded it up. I like this author’s writing and, though it seemed there was a lot of repetition of certain points, I was able to read in one sitting as it kept me interested. Lots of characters and the intertwining of current events (the virus, the economy, the internet) made the story more realistic and believable. I’ve never personally done any online dating and I must admit I would not be inclined as I have a very skeptical approach to social media and a love-hate relationship with it. Also extremely wary of “stranger danger” quite probably due to reading books like this! Anyway, this was not your typical revenge story and I think most of Lisa Unger’s fans will appreciate this book.

4.5 stars. I don’t know why I didn’t finish this faster, I loved so very much of this book. I was confused a little by characters in the beginning but then when I figured the story was about Wren and all her ghosts I was hooked. Full of dark secrets and a trip back to The Willows, a small town I have distinct images of, the atmosphere and grip of this is strong.
Surprising at every turn, even the ending.I’ve enjoyed Laura Unger’s books for years and this is one of the best!

I absolutely loved diving into the world of online dating. I am going to age myself by saying I have never swiped left or right. After this book I am not so sure I would want to! After the first few chapters, Last Girl Ghosted, had me hook, line, and sinker. I was completely enthralled and invested in the tragic story of Wren. A young woman who has been through some of the most horrific and trying times imaginable, brought on by the hands of someone she loved. She never let this past get her down, she is a survivor, and she uses it for good by helping others during their time of need. Her friend convinces her to try online dating, it will be fun right? She matches with someone, who meets all of her requirements. They hit it off, until the day he disappears. What happened to him? Or is it something Wren did to make him ghost her?

This book will have your heart racing, while chills run down your spine. You will yell at Wren over and over to stop following this guy down a terrifying rabbit hole. To stop and think for a minute. Yes, this is a book for yelling at the characters, just so you are forewarned. Lisa Unger slowly and masterfully peels back the layers of Wren's past, little by little. Until she is lying bare before you. You wonder how anyone could have gone on and lived a life after what she witnessed. As the past and the present collide seamlessly. It made me question how well you really know someone, regardless of how you met them. Or if online dating presents more dangers? Are the predators lurking beneath a well thought out profile pic and an amazing dating profile, ready for their next conquest?

If you are looking for a fast paced read, that will keep you whipping through the pages until the end, pick up Last Girl Ghosted. I did feel like the ending was a little lack luster, however, the rest of the book made up for it. I also know I will be questioning online dating and keeping better track of my friends who do swipe right. Thank you to Lisa Unger, Park Row, and NetGalley for this incredibly intoxicating read.

This was my first Unger book and was not disappointed! More of a psychological thriller / mystery than straight up thriller. One of my thriller tests are if I read the first couple of chapters, and then skipped to the end could I figure out what happened in the middle, to me that's such a sad waste! Last Girl Ghosted was a wild ride in which I never predicted where this story was going, who was reliable and who wasn't... it pulled me in and glued me to the story all they way till the last pages.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book. I had seen Lisa's books everywhere and knew that everyone raved about them but I hadn't read one yet. Oh my gosh! This book is sooooo good!

There was just the right amount of suspense, intrigue, and creepiness to keep me turning the pages with just the right amount of romance and attraction to keep it interesting. But will the good guy, or gal, win in this case? That remains to be seen until the exciting end.

Like I said, this is the first book by Lisa Unger that I have read. How can that be!? It definitely won't be my last now that I have discovered her. I can't wait for some more intense rides. I highly recommend Last Girl Ghosted for edge-of-your-seat page-turner. If you love thrillers, you will love this one!

Wren soon finds herself realizing Adam may have some odd connection to her past, a past she has buried and even went to the lengths to change who she was so no one would know her identity. Who is this ghost Adam? Wow I was glued to the pages! I highly recommend four stars!!

I found myself pleasantly surprised with 𝐿𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝐺𝑖𝑟𝑙 𝐺ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑑 by Lisa Unger. Last year I read 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 7:45 and found it quite dull, but I gave this author another chance and Im so glad I did!

𝐿𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝐺𝑖𝑟𝑙 𝐺ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑑 includes a complex multilayer plot and I loved it! The storyline is creative, unique, dark and keeps you on your toes. The plot focusing on online dating and the dangers that come along with this provides a realistic story and will make you think twice before signing up for @tinder 😉

The character development throughout is impressive and although main character Wren makes terrible decisions, all the characters are quite likable. Most of the story is told in a first person narrative, which was a nice change. Lastly, the ending was perfect & that last final twist that the author threw in there is brilliant!

This was a dark, disturbing and twisty one that I really enjoyed! It started out really strong and sucked me in quickly. It is a slow burn and in the middle dragged a bit, but the characters and plot intrigued me and kept me invested. The majority of the book takes place in the present but there are snippets from Wren’s past that eventually tell her full backstory. There were mentions of the start of the Covid-19 pandemic starting but brief comments and nothing in depth or detailed, I don’t think the disease was even mentioned by name. Although parts of this were realistic, it did take a turn toward the implausible at times especially toward the end. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a character driven foreboding and mysterious drama. 4/5⭐️

This book is not for the faint of heart – or those firmly entrenched in internet dating. The dual time period format gives depth to the main character and keeps you even more engaged. Unger wraps up the loose ends well. A must read for fans of creepy thrillers.

Great book! Loved the two different timelines. This is my first Lisa Unger book and it will not be my last. She grabbed you from the first chapter then spit you out at the end. What a ride!!

This story follows Wren who suffered a trauma in her youth and tends to keep to herself and her best friend but she soon starts dating a man she meets on an app. After a few months together Wren gets a cryptic text from Adam, the man she has been dating and then no longer hears from him. Soon after this Wren gets a visit from. PI named Bailey and it turns out the man she has been seeing is the only link to a few missing women that Bailey has been searching for. This sends Wren down a path to search for the man she thought she knew and what she discovers is not what she hoped to find. Overall I really enjoyed this book and the twists it takes. I also really liked Wren as a character, she was resilient when others may not have been in her situation. My only real critique of this book is that at times I found it repetitive and I also feel like the author left some opportunities to maybe have a more paranormal element to the story.
